Okay, so WI this morning... up 1 pound from my "oh my goodness, you're completely dehydrated!" weight of yesterday morning. But still down .5 pound from my last logical/realistic weigh in. So I'm at 151 now

I know, I'm suprised as well. I'm not exactly sure why. I keep a daily journal of everything on a blog, but it's just my thoughts without advice,as I'm not a medical doctor or a trained nutritionist that can advise anyone. Anyone can check it out to see what i'm doing or what I'm eating to help them, I'm all for that. If anyone is interested I can send them a link, but I'm going to avoid self promotion at this time. I'm here because I tend to learn from what others are doing and how they have succeeded. I think everyone here is trying to fine tune things to make NK work.

I'm very strict and measure everything out and keeping track of what I eat. Two days prior, I weighed in at 212.3 and today I'm 208.6. I am excited, but I also know I'll probably go back to 211 before I lose again, so it's just a number. I measure my body comp through a simple three spot skinfold test. If I have good results with the skin fold test along with the weight loss, then I know I'm headed in the right direction by reducing calories. But if it's the opposite, that isn't the direction I want to head in and I'll have to tweak and increase my protein intake while reducing my fat intake.

The experimentation aspect of this can be so motivating and frustrating at the same time, but it is very exciting. You all are doing amazing job with your journey and motivating others. It's really awesome. Keep it going bc not only are you trying to reach your goal of either losing weight, fat, but your getting healthy doing it.

This morning numbers:
Morning Measurements 7:33 am

Ketones: 2.3
Glucose: 72
Weight: 208.6

So my ketone levels are down, but glucose as well. I'm down roughly 4 lbs after 13 days.

I did for the first time yesterday bc my glucose levels were so high. I was a bit worried. So I checked my glucose levels one and two hours after I ate yesterday. I had a 100 and an 87, and felt relieved that my glucose levels were stable. I remind myself that these glucose/ketone readings are really a measurement at a moment in time. Maybe if we wake up a little later and let our bodies rest more we'll get different reading. I'd like to take a day measure all day long; however these damn strip are so damn expensive. Argh!!!!

As long as i'm in the zone and continue to find tune this experiment to achieve my goal, I'll be very happy.

For those of you who were keeping up with my hawthorn supplementation to try and lower my BP (if there even ARE any of you out there other than Darin ) it seems to be working SPECTACULARLY

This morning my average was 120/73 which is already in optimal range! I can't believe it... I haven't seen normal BP numbers in YEARS. To put that into perspective, when I started the supplements my reading was 148/108. So that's a HUGE improvement in just a few weeks

good morning. stress drove me to terrible habits (well that's my lame excuse anyway) last night. stuffed my face with cream cheese and sugar alcohols galore. figured i would be sad this morning but honestly i guess it didn't kill my game too much, ketostix darkish so glad to see that and then WI was 170.2. we skipped our hard workout again so it's on the agenda tonight, woo (ha...). today had a small cube steak with coffee, HWC and EVCO then had another coffee with HWC. feeling satiated and ready for the day! really want to stay with my plan today!

THis is where I struggle. I wish I could find some things to eat lower in protein. I really do best if I have 20 or 30 g of protein in the morning. I also feel like I have to have protein at each meal. I find it hard to eat lower protein. It is also hard because I am always feeding and fixing food for other people, like all day long.

This is amazing, especially with the lack of sleep you have had.

Sounds like you stuck to NK friendly foods.
NK is great, look at Darin's almond indulgence. He showed a loss in just a few days.

I'm thinking I need to try not eating protein at lunch time. Just not sure what it would look like...

I like my protein at dinner for sure! Plus, like you said, I am fixing dinner for DH and he's been so good about not having carbs at dinner, if I stopped making protein too I think he would revolt!

It's a very NK BBQ day! And the BBQ sauce went amazingly well on the food. Yes, I'm a weirdo who puts BBQ sauce on hamburgers and hot dogs and sausages and... well almost anything that goes on a grill The good news is, Bob's TASTES great (reminds me of a slightly less strong tasting Open Pit which is what my mom used when I was a kid ) and it's just a TINY little bit thinner than other BBQ sauces which makes it thick enough to stick to your food, but thin enough that 1T of it covered ALL of that food. I love it!

...just as a disclaimer, yes all of that food is for me. And no I did NOT eat it all in one sitting
Thanks for the BBQ tip!! I have been missing BBQ! Yours looks delish!!!

Mom finally was able to eat a few bites of food yesterday. She is pretty sure it is her gallbladder. The ER Dr said it was a back injury, ummm, NO! But he seemed like he really couldn't care any less in this world.
Geez, the list of foods a person with gall bladder problems can eat is about an inch long. Does anyone have any advice about gallbladder attacks and how to deal?
I feel for your mom! I had a couple of gall bladder attacks and that was all I wanted! I had mine out in 2010. No problem since then! Your mom should have an MRI to see what is going on with hers! That is the best way to find out. Not good to let it go before she has a bigger problem!

I have been gone on a short vacation..nice to be back and read your posts! Looks like you are doing great!!
I had no scales while away and stayed as close as I could to the diet! I weighed after returning home..had stayed the same!! Then after couple of days back strictly on NK, was down a lb this morning! Woohoo!!
I got my ketone meter, but it keeps telling me I am lo. The ketosticks are light to dark purple depending what time of day I check...I have keeping my carbs very low, moderate protein and the rest fat...love the fat bombs...have one every evening before bed!
