Any suggestions on how to eat these the least painful way?
Ounce for ounce they have more calcium and phosphorus than milk, more iron than spinach, more potassium than coconut water and bananas and as much protein as steak. It's a good source of EPA, DHA, Omega 3 and B12, Vit D, and selenium! Also CoQ10. How can I NOT eat these. They are really

Now, I have eaten them before. Only when i don't have anything quick or smoked oysters available. But I think maybe I'm missing a bet with the nutritution. I bet with salsa or something they would be decent.
Thanks Beverly (Sungoddess)
Mash the sardines with some avocado and mayo a bit of mayo and chopped onion, nom nom nom

Sounds like a winner. I never bought avocado much until recently and now I just can't seem to get enough. Love it.

Me too!

Hi gang! I'm totally going to jump onto the High Fat NK bandwagon with you guys - I have 18 pounds to lose. It seems that I have stalled on my regular low carb way of eating - too much protein, and I think that being low carb for 3 years has made my body quite adept at converting protein to glucose! So it's time to get serious about those ratios.

Day 1 - 138.4 pounds
1322 calories
73.7% fat
22.2% protein
4.1% carbs

Breakfast - Fat bomb made with coconut oil and macadamia nut butter
Lunch - boiled eggs, chorizo and hot chocolate with coconut oil
Dinner - chicken drums and coconut cream curry dipping sauce (YUMMMM)

Looking forward to egging each other on! Let's keep the motivation going

Morning!
Still up 2 lbs this morning BUT given what I ate yesterday, I'm surprised it wasn't more! I was way over on all counts! I was just so hungry! I think after all of the activities on Sunday and Monday I just needed to replenish or something.

I also did blood ketone test this morning and it was 0.2 so no ketosis for me after all that food. Hopefully today I can get it under control...

It's taken about a month but I am really staring to feel a difference.

Stayed the same today at weigh-in, but that's okay... what's NOT okay is that I had been planning to BBQ today and woke up to surprise thunderstorms. So I had to redo my whole menu for the day in a flash

I'm kind of nervous to dine out again since I've been doing so well cooking for myself since I had that almost 2 month spree of dining out constantly... but ugh. I'm going to compromise with myself (because seriously, I was caught WAY off guard by this storm crap ) and get 6 plain chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch to give myself a break from the protein shakes and from cooking til dinner time, and then at dinner time I think I'm going to try something new. I came up with a tentative recipe for a coconut curry chicken dish, so I'm going to try cooking that... wish me luck! LOL

I hope the dish turns out good, because I'll have another 3 servings of the sauce after I'm done making dinner and the whole meal should only be about 7 carbs the way I have it factored out in my tracker... and that's pretty much from the coconut milk and the garlic A bit high for one meal for me, but that's okay. My whole day is looking to be on par for about 10 total so that's still good

Well, operation "make coconut curry sauce" was a spicy success

I actually tweaked the recipe a little and the carb count for the sauce came down to 2, for a total of 6 in the whole meal. I'll take a little bit of help here and there, that's for sure

I just have to not mess up my chicken later (doubtful) and I should be good to go

I was just about to recommend that you brine the chicken but then I remembered that you are sensitive to sodium. I always brine chicken and pork now and it always comes out moist and delicious.

Hi! Been lurking and finally decided to jump in. Been doing Atkins for 3 yrs now and lost 70lbs, though only 9 in the last yr. Decided to try NK since I read about it and realized my protein is very high. I'm shooting for 140 lbs-if I'm lucky, will get there by then end of the year! I seem to be a very slow loser--am taking prednisone which probably is why. My first week doing this, I was very hungry! Trying to get 76/16/7, but I really need to keep my protein at 95g. Can't figure out if I need to go up in calories or down--right now I'm working with 1600. Some things I read say to go up, others to go down. I'm only 5'3 with 28% body fat. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It was good but I could have easily eaten twice as much.

I've been drinking plenty of water but that never fills me up. Maybe I'll make a mug of bulletproof tea, warm liquid seems to work better than cold for satiation. I'm staying away from the almonds today!
This can be a tough situation. I've been there before. Some times I just eat. I try to keep my total carbs low but shoot past my fat/protein/calorie goals.

Other times, probably most of the time when it happens, I ignore the urge to eat.

I do not think it matters much if you eat up everything in the house (keeping total carbs low) once in a while. You may see a bump on the scale but I doubt it is a real gain. It takes time to digest the weight of the food you ate and it takes extra water (which will show on the scale) to digest it too.

If it is happening a lot then carefully review your menu plan, macros and calorie levels to see if something sticks out. If nothing does then look at fat source, protein sources, et. al. for problems that may be creating the situation indirectly. Even supplements. Look for changes that have been made recently.
