Weight down - thank goodness. WI this morning a little under 173 so 8 lbs of binge weight gone in 2 days. SO ready to get back down to around 165 and now that I'm closer to 170 I won't drop the lbs so fast so it will probably be sometime next week that I hit 165 - hopefully!

Doing 1 hour dance cardio class this morning and will prob hit about 600 calories burned. My calorie goal today is about 2000 and prob like 70-80g protein for goal weight 150.

Happy HFLC day everyone!
Yahoo, That's a great big woosh!!

scale did show a .2 decrease but as we know it will bounce until next Tuesday "official weigh in".

Upping fat today and lowering calories a bit.
.2 is great!!!

WOW! You must need the fat. Phinney says people lose on a very high fat diet. That's Great!!

Well my description is rather simplified. My evening salad was huge and had a nice amount of homemade Ranch dressing mage from the bacon mayo and sour cream. This morning I had a bigger breakfast and am not hungry. I reduced my protein and my calories just reduced with it. If I am hungry I eat but my appetite has gone way down.
I don't know if it is my TOM or NK but I feel like I have become a supertaster. Before LC I was not this way. Man I can taste everything and some thing make me that didn't used to. And some smells. Almost like being pregnant messes with you sense of smell.

This morning when I was making my husband breakfast there was a bad egg in the carton. I thought I would puke. Not sure I will be able to eat eggs anymore.

I don't think any studies have been done but I think CO helps keep me from getting sick. Or maybe the combination of CO/LC/NK. I don't think I've had a full blown cold in at least a year. Seems like I used to catch cold anytime someone with 20 miles of me had a cold.
I know CO is supposed to have antiviral qualities or something like that. I was using CO before I stated LC. NK has made a big difference in how often I get sick. Before NK and LC I got every stomach bug the Daycare kids brought in. I haven't got the last 2 stomach bugs that went thru.

Everything looks pretty good, but yes definitely keep the increased fat up! 1274 calories really isn't enough imo to promote a healthy metabolism... I know I have to eat at LEAST 1500 calories to even see weight loss at all. Anything under that, and things start to stall! 136g of fat and 1515 calories looks much better

What are your current/goal weights if you don't mind me asking? We would be able to give you a more accurate calorie estimate if you wanted one, knowing that information... however NK doesn't watch calories so closely, and is more about the high fat/moderate protein/low carb aspect of things. That's not to say you can go CRAZY eating 5000 calories and not notice it of course But many of us thrive eating much higher than we thought was appropriate before because high fat diets lend themselves well to that when you're in ketosis!

I'm anywhere from 126 to 130, 46yrs, female and gaining.

So, I don't know where to increase then.

B: 1T coconut oil, 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk with 15gr butter
L: 6oz of Chilli made with ground beef and ground chicken so say 3oz beef/3oz chick
D: 7oz wild pacific salmon, 1 cup broccoli and either 1T olive oil or butter

Should I add 1T coconut oil in my tea before bed?

Are you aiming for weight loss, or maintaining? I'm not sure what your height is but 130 is a pretty healthy weight for most! Is it possible that your goal isn't quite in line with your body frame? Have you checked out the main page to find out if you're small/medium/large framed as well? If you figure that out it's really easy to google an ideal weight chart for your height and body frame size

If you're talking about from 1500 calories, if you're not hungry and you start seeing losses I wouldn't increase anything. The other day's totals looked really good to me! Things will take time though, so I'd give the 1500 calorie thing a bit of time to work its magic and see what it does for you... results definitely aren't overnight, and age does sometimes play a factor as well. It seems like sometimes as we age our metabolisms slow down and it takes a bit more time to get it going again. That's why eating enough calories is important though. Too few over a long period of time actually SLOWS your metabolism, as your body begins to feel like it needs to hold onto what little nutrition it's getting!

If you need help getting your fat/calories up, adding coconut oil to things is a great way! I add coconut oil and HWC to every cup of tea I drink and sometimes have up to 3-4 cups a day

I drink 4 to 6 cups of hot tea (English Breakfast, Darjeeling, etc. (not EarlGrey)) a day plus 2 large glasses of iced tea! I usually take milk in my hot tea, but I have learned to drink it straight when I am trying to improve my NK numbers. I tried my tea with coconut oil after reading about it here, but I couldn't finish the cuppa. I am such a wimp.

I've hit just under 2500 calories by 3p so I'm not really planning to eat anything else or work out any more today...Not really an intentional IF so hopefully it doesn't cause me any issues. Had good day tho:

fat 223g
protein 85g
carbs 35g (total, 17 of 35 are fiber)
alcohol 0

80.69963812 %
13.67108967 %
5.629272216 %

a smidge high on carbs today because I had a Quest choc chip cookie dough protein bar which is SO insanely delicious! i'm so full feeling right now as I've been eating consistently throughout the day.

Hi Bernsy. Depending on if you are male/female, your build, you current weight, your goal weight, that would give everybody a better idea of where you need to be on your fats/protein levels. It sounds like you are probably a little low on your calories, unless you are a short, menopausal woman

Great job on everybody's losses, and an especially great job on the no fast food, Amanda!

I'm continuing the week long experiment of higher calories. I purposely have not weighed in because I don't want to get scared off by the daily fluctuations. If my weight is up at the end of the week, then I'll probably lower my calories back down.

Today's food log included 1850 calories, 160 g fat, 86 g protein, 26 g carbs, and 8 g fiber.

Breakfast - coffee with coconut oil and hwc, scrambled eggs, bacon
Lunch - cream of cauliflower soup, baby kale with blue cheese dressing
Dinner - bunless cheeseburger and dill pickle

Hi Glenn Welcome to our thread

Heavy Whipping Cream (HWC) is NK friendly so you could have that in your tea if you like.

It was the texture of the oil in your tea, right? Not much can be done about that except maybe using a thermos to thoroughly shake and incorporate the oil then pour small portions you can drink before the oil separates again. I do that with my coffee/HWC/CO mixture. But I got used to the oily thing so it doesn't bother me.

Had a really good day today. It's definitely a chore to get all the protein in but I took your advice and had chicken today Darin. It all adds up.

Totals:

1659 calories
140 fat
16 carbs
85 proteins

B Coffee w/ creamer and co 3 g
S Broth w/ butter 3 oz baked chicken
L bacon x4 w/ fried egg, 1/2 c. mushrooms
D Sausages w/mushrooms, celery w/cr cheese 10 olives

One thing I am having trouble with is getting the water in. Usually coffee, broth, and 3 bottles in Will work on it.

Shrimp is another high protein source that isn't super filling. Most fish too. Which reminds me of the missing part of my strategy post about lean protein ---- calories. Lean protein makes it easier to get your protein in and keep your fat high and stay near your calorie goal if you don't have a high calorie goal. My calories are fairly high, all things considered, but with my ~800 morning coffee calories I still use a lot of lean protein to keep my macros in the right range.

Water. It can be tough to drink a lot if you are not much of a water drinker in the first place. I have been a pure water drinker for many years so I actually have to moderate how much I drink. You might try keeping a bottle or glass full handy and try to get in the habit of sipping on it all the time. Or maybe use some of your calories for something salty to encourage yourself to drink more often.

And, of course, you may not really need to drink a ton of water. If you are having problems with regularity and are already supplementing with at least the RDA of magnesium then you should look at pushing up your water intake for sure. Probably most everyone needs 3 bottles a day, just to pull a reasonable sounding number out of the air, and I'm sure lots of people need more than that. It is something to experiment with to find what works for you. I drink 4 to 6 bottles a day and sometimes more. Occasionally less.

That reminds me... I've got some Tilapia in the freezer... think I'll fry it in Ghee! Yumm! However, tomorrow it's baby back ribs in the crock pot!

Well, I tried HWC in my tea tonight and it was ... acceptable. I think I can get used to it. But it will be a while before I try CO again

Here you go. They came out pretty tasty, and I had one with orange cream cheese during the meeting. The giant Costco muffins weren't the least bit tempting. The real test comes tomorrow morning, when I find out if the scone affected my ketones. I'm not expecting a drop, but I haven't had a lot of carbalose products yet, so we'll see.

Good day overall. I'm getting back into pottery, which I did a lot of in college, and was enjoying myself so much that I didn't even think about dinner until nearly 9 p.m.

Good morning! WI today at 171, woot! My ketostix appeared to show trace ketones so that's good, it didn't seem as obvious as the day before but pretty sure it's trace.

Having 2 eggs and coffee with HWC for breakfast - yum! Will be eating tuna today and more eggs and HWC. I was going to take the morning off from work out but It would be SO nice to get back to 160s by the weekend, even if it's Sat morning at 169 lol...I want it back!
