Also, you might encourage him by dragging one of your legs zombie-style.

Haven't check in lately --- posted in main lobby: getting rhinoplasty (nose job) on Monday at age 44!

So I'll be busy with that recovery for a couple weeks.

Going to make a big batch of my homemade chicken soup, blend it up, and drink that through a straw the first few days. I will also be drinking my 'fat coffee'.

So. I might be MIA for a few days after Monday. Busy getting *fabulous* ---

So excited to finally be getting the hump off my nose! YAY!!!!!

QUESTION: Been having dull ache in my legs. I took potassium pill and that helped within the hour. now, 3 days later, having leg cramps during the night -- but I'm taking Magnesium at bedtime. you think I should be taking potassium every day or just get more salt? (I'm afraid to do anything to promote swelling, given the surgery on Monday.)
Hey, I had my nose done a couple years ago. Yayyyy, plastic surgery! Recovery was fairly easy, the thing I remember most is: take SMALL mouthfuls of liquids when you're drinking, not too much! When I had my nose done, for some reason, if I took too big of a sip it would come out my nose! It didn't feel uncomfortable (I mean that I didn't feel like I had just accidentally snorted water), but imagine my surprise when I looked down and saw red Gatorade gushing down my face!

Good luck and get well soon! I'm such a big plastic surgery proponent LOL

LOL, you gals crack me up! They'll just think I'm injured and send me to the medic.

No, not zombie flick. (Would LOVE to be in one, though!!!!)

I'm going to be a shopper in the morning, then a doctor the rest of Thursday and Friday.

I hope there's some fake blood and gore!!!!

THanks for the tip!!! I'm going to get some straws -- is it okay to suck from a straw, or do you have to drink/sip from a cup? (I know some dental procedures they don't want you sucking on a straw because you might pull out a clot/scab, whatever and get a 'dry socket', whatever that means...)

I'm glad to hear it wasn't that bad. Hoping mine will go the same way!

I couldn't use straws because I also got UVPPP surgery (or whatever its called) at the same time. So adenoids, tonsils, and uvula removed and my soft palate shaped and resculpted. So there was a LOT going on in my mouth and nose area at the time.

I dunno about straight rhinoplasty, but I know post-surgery bleeding is something they worry about, so I'd imagine straws would be discouraged.

How did it get to be Wednesday already?! Being off NK this week, I've discovered a few things. I can eat carbs without triggering a binge, although part of that may be down to my being less hungry overall.

I'm also finding that I no longer enjoy many of the carb-y foods I used to love. That was interesting to learn - it seems the memory of how certain foods used to taste was better than the actual experience. It's funny the tricks our mind plays on us.

I'll probably restart NK this weekend so I can give my body a couple of days to adjust before going back to work on Monday. It looks like my temp job will be over by the middle of next week.

heh

I'm a late bloomer for PA/ZA. Really only in the last couple of years have I become a huge fan. I think The Book of Eli is what got the ball rolling for me. I can't get enough of the stuff. At first I was reading strictly ZA. But I ran out of freebie kindle versions and started reading PA too.

I'm not big on ZA that gets supernatural. Like the way Zombie Fallout started veering off into around the fourth(?) book. I liked the chubby kid that was obviously gifted with something special. But when ... well I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't read the series.

That book I mentioned a few weeks ago, A Very Good Man, I really enjoyed although it was supernatural almost from the get go. And I liked the twist on zombies being attracted only to screaming or loud voices ... and the consequences for raising your voice in a safe area lol.

I guess the difference is that ZF started out more of an interesting tongue in cheek ZA but then went too far rather than being a serious fantasy story from the start. Another series did that too. No Easy Hope - really good with a few quibbles. Then at the end of the second book, This Shattered Land, which was a better book for sure, turned towards some funky supernatural crap wth.

ZA/PA

Interesting Lisa! And what a relief, huh?! I mean, I'd be super paranoid about falling off the carb cliff but your experience so far makes that a whole lot less likely

yeah it was more like stepping off the carb curb than falling off a cliff. I suspect that I'm not terribly insulin resistant, as I have been able to lose weight in the past by simply cutting calories. It's just more enjoyable on NK because I don't get that gnawing, urgent sense of hunger.

I did feel out of sorts on Sunday after a high carb Saturday, but part of that may have been from working so much and feeling tired & sore. I spent all day Sunday in pajamas - reading, watching videos, and napping.

Happy Birthday Janette!!

Now I know why you were planning a Red Robin outing! I hope you wind up enjoying whatever you order there, and have a great time... it's one of my favorite LC places to eat, honestly

Congrats on the great weigh-in this morning too!

oh man i'm stoked now - after breakfast did some more strength training stuff since had the energy and didn't work arms yesterday, just did legs so did some arm stuff, some more squats and lunges. used the bathroom and of course had to hop back on when changing into my work clothes. WOO back down to 169.4. soooo happy about it! we get to wear jeans to work today, which only happens 2x a year and in the almost 10yrs i have worked there i have never participated cuz never had any jeans - always felt too uncomfortable for my body, didn't feel good in them ever, etc but today my friends I am rocking the size 31 jeans my mom got me for christmas and i was able to rock them on NY Eve but then regained and now I'm finally back into them comfortably! they are so cute, Miss Me jeans with a real blingy butt. I might be 33 but damn I feel like I look fabulous! Thank you NK. I'm officially shaking off the haters in these jeans. can't nobody tell me nothin bout the way I eat, LOL! Can you tell I'm feelin feisty in these jeans LOL. Today is also my friday as I took tomorrow off work and letting my son stay home since he wants to stay up late watching the NFL draft which he is beyond excited about. It's going to be a GREAT day and weekend! I hope the same for everyone here too! WOOO Happy Day y'all!!
