Calories: 1,844
Carbs: 47
Fat: 157
Protein: 78
Ketones in AM: 1.4

Ate nearly identically to yesterday and now I am sick of duck eggs. I made a batch of pumpkin scones tonight (a lower-carb version of a recipe from Starbucks) and am looking forward to having one of those at my meeting in the morning while everyone else eats bagels and doughnuts.
MerryKate: what a great idea to make the pumpkin scones so you will have an option, while the others graze on sugar. Would you mind sharing the recipe?

Numbers for the day:

cals 2012
fat 154
protein 113
carbs 45

70/22/8

45 minutes on treadmill
water and supplements taken.

scale did show a .2 decrease but as we know it will bounce until next Tuesday "official weigh in".

Upping fat today and lowering calories a bit.

It does depend on the individual but generally 3-5 days for a carby meal and 2-4 weeks for completely going off the rails.

I'm glad your husband is feeling better

I don't think any studies have been done but I think CO helps keep me from getting sick. Or maybe the combination of CO/LC/NK. I don't think I've had a full blown cold in at least a year. Seems like I used to catch cold anytime someone with 20 miles of me had a cold.

TOday for breakfast i had hotel eggs and bacon and a side of awesome hollandaise

Sure! I have always been a BIG girl and never really cared about getting on the scale so never really monitored my weight. When my size 22 pants would get SO tight I would just make myself cut back on junk so they wouldn't cut off my circulation. At some point prior to the end of Jan 2012, I'd say about 6 months prior so like July 2011 I decided to cut 2% milk. It was like I'd always have a stomach ache and I was miserable. Well, without realizing it I'd ended up cutting back on a lot of other things that I would have with the milk. I was prev drinking 1 gall of 2% a week by myself with oreos, cereal, etc and always at night so my weight was going up and up but at the time I was more focused on trying to keep the stomach pain away. I thought I might be lactose intolerant so switched to lactose free milk for a bit but then it was too pricey so just stopped the milk.

At the end of Jan 2012 I had a doc visit, I hate going and usually don't show up but went and the scale showed I had dropped 40 lbs from the last visit. I was 263 at the last visit and was at 223. I was stoked! I used to have 3 sets of pants. 18s 20s and 22s and I knew I was doing "ok" since my 18s were snug but the 20s felt good so I was content. My weight also fluctuates a LOT and I didn't really pay attention to my body that much so yeah, when I realized I was at 223 I was like well, what is another 25 lbs to put me under 200? So did some research online and came across Jorge Cruise Belly Fat Cure which I ended up following for a good 6 months and lost quite a bit of weight. That plan REALLY opened my eyes to sugar but I was still allowed up to 120g carb/day. My weight loss started to taper off so I moved into Atkins and stayed there for a bit then learned about NK and now that is my focus. I'm feeling good. I struggle with BED so I have hit 100 lbs lost like 3x now but sadly binge my way back up to 180-185 each time so far. So now that I'm officially in ketosis and I see it on the strip I'm hoping to shed lbs and keep off and stop with the ridiculous binges.

My goal is to hit 155 but I do feel good at 165 so I'm going to try and stop rushing the scale and just focus on how to eat for NK and focus on improving my fitness.

Thanks for asking and thanks for reading!

I was told not to eat a big high fat meal but I was starving yesterday and posted here what I had. It was sort of an all out bingish high fat meal including 1/2 cup HWC and 5 oz cheese plus some peanut butter and chocolate. I was full all day after that 2300 calories of fat and couldn't eat the rest of the day. I lost 2.5 pounds overnight!

Barry Groves eats a big breakfast and lunch and light dinner. Has anyone read the Big Breakfast DIet? It doesn't promote high fat but at least 7 oz. protein for breakfast and to eat a big breakfast as soon as you get up. It has to do with your circadium ryhthm of your body and it works. I ate that food at 9 a.m. and was full full full all day.

I haven't read the book, but I say if it works, do it. Personally I can't eat when I get up. I would puke!

Down to 220.3 this morning.

Woot! Nice!

Congrats on all the losses! Love it.

Hi, Myles! Good to see ya!

I made fat bombs last night and they turned out great! Very happy.

Road trip today so I'll be packing some goodies to take with me.

Weigh-in Apr 03, 2013

Weigh-in this morning ... 197.7 for a big bounce. I know it is water weight but it is weird because I've been getting leg cramps the last couple of days despite adequate water, adequate potassium and adequate sodium.

Finally starting to release some of that water weight, if my trips to the bathroom are any indication! It's been 93 days since I've had fast food! Even before then I would only eat LC fast food, but on 1/1 I said no more! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, either.

Yay on all the losses!

Hello everyone! Stopping by for a quick flyby! work is still keeping me busy...so i'm having to stay focused more...ie, less FUN sites! lol I hope everyone is fabulous and doing great! Good job on all the losses and sticking with it! I'm still lurking from time to time...BUT omg i am UP 6 lbs from where I started at the beginning of the year, so a little freaked out and doing some re-evaluating. I have always wanted to do the Whole30 (paleo...which, i have been mainly paleo/primal for some time in the sense that i try not to eat anything not on the paleo lists or processed) The biggest thing has been the no dairy of any kind and no chemical anything...which I am hoping cures more for me than just the weight/bloat issues. I am till eating higher fat/mod protein and fresh veggies. I have always had an issue with depression (and weight issues DO NOT HELP!) SO, i am thinking (praying) that the loss of the splenda, sugar alcohols (i was a junkie lol) and other preservetives will help balance things back out...heck, it is 30 days (3 days into it already!) and if it works, fabulous....if it doesn't, oh well...i tried!

I did make a boston butt yesterday that is TO DIE FOR! I got the recipe from the NomNom girl...excellent paleo recipes (low carb for that matter). Put a layer of bacon slices on the bottom of your crock pot, put garlic cloves into little slits in your boston butt, sprinkle (rub) generously with salt (i added red pepper flakes) and let 'er rip on low for as long as possible! My bacon was already cooked, so i put a tbs of bacon grease on the bottom and then at the end put in a 1/2 cup of beef broth to deglaze the pot. HOLY PORK BUTTOCKS it was AMAZING! and so easy!!

OH the 2 biggest changes....i'm not getting on the scale or food scales for 30 days!

Hi Theresa

You can do it!

I'm gonna have to get my crock pot out. I have some country style pork ribs I think I'd like to cook in it.

Hi Cheryl,
How are things going for you? That does not seem like enough food for the day. Does the coffee/co keep you full for a while? I'm trying to decide what to do next because I am storing fat somehow. I've been having 2 or 3 eggs with 1T or 2T of butter in the morning along with 1T of coconut oil (from the spoon). Maybe it's too much fat for my system.

There have been studies done Red. CO is so good for your system, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal. I'm sure it has kept me from getting sick. I was getting back to back pneumonia every year. Google coconut research - very interesting read!

There are clinical research studies on the efficacy of CO in preventing sickness? It seems unlikely. I can't recall any pro-CO site quoting one. But the three 'anti-' properties in particular are what makes me think it helps.

Increase or Decrease?

Hi everyone, input requested.

Once I logged all of my food for the day this is what I get.

1274 cals

98.9gr fat
85.1gr pro
9.7gr total carb

Yesterday was
1515 cals

136gr fat
68.6gr pro
8.5gr total carb

Where should I increase or decrease? 136gr of fat seems like too much for me but is 1274 cals enough food???
