Darin, speaking of frame sizes. When I first was getting started, I told you I had a small frame. Now that I have found my tape I find that my wrist is 6 1/4. So a medium. Do I still keep with 75-100 protein? I have been on the lower portion usually 60-65. And keeping 1700-1800 cal usually. My weight has kept going up and down the last few days. Up to 234 today.

You've lost at least 4 pounds in 14 days so that is pretty good right there Lindy.

That sort of bouncing seems to be common too so I wouldn't worry too much about it since the trend is definitely downwards.

How are you doing with hunger and appetite? Are you getting super hungry anytime of the day?

6 1/4 is not very far into the medium range so I wouldn't change anything over that. And if you are like me you will lose weight in your arms/wrists/hands which will probably push you back into the upper end of the small frame range. I think if your measurement straddles the fence they you just choose which frame size you think is correct for yourself and set your ideal weight goal by that.

Assuming your appetite and hunger are not an issue, I'd try to eat at least 75g of protein and maybe push calories down to the 1600-1700 area.

Yeow. I'd have whipped out a mask like those guys used in Carriers, white with a smile drawn on the front. And a bottle of bleach.

Really though, that is awful. I bet they were sloppy about covering their mouths/noses and not touching stuff.

I use ZiCam meltaways when I think I am fighting a cold or when I know I've gotten a cold. Seems to work really well. Back before LC/wheat-free, I'd get a bad cold at least once a year that kept me home in bed for at least a day. When I started using ZiCam I never did get a cold bad enough to keep me in bed again. The cold was less awful overall and it didn't last as long either.

If you try it get the homeopathic version not the ones with normal cold medicine mixed in.

So far today:
.25oz bacon fat
2 large eggs 107g
CO 1.54 TBSP
5 oz Tuna (canned in water, drained)
Hellmans Mayo 2.2 tbsp
coffee with 1 oz HWC, 1tbsp CO and 1 tbsp of SF amaretto syrup

I am at just below 1000 calories so far today. I'm not feeling hungry at all! I am feeling a LOT of stress at work and do have to stop myself from turning to snacking or extra cups of coffee with HWC for "comfort" and really just actively working to stop bad habits of eating when I'm not hungry. It's strange to feel like I'm really just not hungry! No cravings today.

For dinner it will be ground hamburger and won't drain the fat. Will also have CO tonight. Think I will try super hard to dodge the shredded cheese and just use one serving sour cream with my hamburger.

Was going to wait a week to WI but already getting excited to see the drop! Figure safer to just stay off the scale and see the # go down versus watching it bounce around (if it does). I like the simplicity of my plan this week, sticking to foods I know work for my plan and drinking TONS of water. Making sure I take my supplements . I really can't wait to get my weight back down WOOO NK ROCKS.

Got Volek and Phinney's "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance" in the mail today It shouldn't take too long to read. And I enjoyed Shirataki noodles with some low carb spaghetti sauce and meatballs for dinner--very tasty. Good day for a Monday overall!

Today turned into sort of a cheat day. We had pizza at work to celebrate a milestone, and I decided to eat 2 pieces. I know I could have eaten just the toppings, but this was one of those times when I didn't want to feel like the odd person out in a group. I went through plenty of that when I was vegetarian and vegan.

I'm going to eat a normal dinner and not worry about it, especially since I did a semi-fast yesterday.

ok, so my frame is large, which makes sense, big boobs, wide hip bone width, but i'm short (5'2") - is there a calculator here that takes that into account?

going looking

I have had those days, but They will be a thing of the past in a few weeks if not sooner.
Some days I feel like I could not eat at all. I make sure I get in my calories so I will be healthy. It is so unlike me. This WOE is a real blessing. Last year I was eating 1200 calories high carb low fat and still gaining weight.

Is there a list somewhere of individual (snackable, no cooking needed) foods that are "perfect" for NK?

That is, that conform to the 80/15/5 ratio
(or are higher in fat)?

I don't always eat dinner (prefer filling breakfast, moderate lunch [usually after 3pm], coffee & cream or salad or snacks in the evening), but sometimes I just need a few bites of something late in the evening to take my meds/vitamins. Plus I have a hard time falling asleep if I'm hungry. My usual go-to of cheddar cheese or cottage cheese is a bit high in protein.

I'm thinking maybe--
avocados
olives
pepperoni/salami
cream cheese
pork rinds*
hard-boiled eggs (or just the yolks?)
nuts (maybe not cashews or seeds?)

Sorry if this seems lazy but I just thought I'd ask in case anybody has already figured it out!

*Pork rinds nutrition info says 7g per serving, but also "not a good source of protein (incomplete). If eaten with other protein, it might become complete, but on their own, maybe okay? Thoughts?

TIA!

I'm the same way piratejenny... I need a bit of something to take at night with my supplements, and I usually can't sleep very well if I'm hungry. If you're really trying to avoid higher levels of protein at night, macadamia nuts are very satisfying. They're VERY high in fat and not too high in protein I usually have a mug of bulletproof tea though, and that fills me up and is enough to coat my tummy for the pills. Decaf sometimes, but other times the tiny amount of caffeine in the tea doesn't seem to bother me at all... just 1/2T-1T of EVCO and 1T-2T of HWC in a mug of tea and I'm good to go for the night. If you're trying to get your ketones up too, eating CO is a great way to do that. It's extremely ketogenic! That's my nightly snack every single day and I love it!

Also, you could consider making some fat bombs as well... cream cheese, butter, CO, lots of things can go into them and they're great for little snacks here and there to fill in the gaps. ESPECIALLY when you need more fat, but shouldn't have any more protein!

The old standby, pickles. Ha Also, jerky and pepperoni logs (Costco). How about cottage cheese 3c, 14 protein. 100 cal for 1/2 cup. Canned oysters. What else?

Thank you, RDR!

I've heard some people say that CO gives them too much energy. I've had problems with insomnia for years so I've been a little hesitant to take it at night.

I love fat bombs but my son steals them!!!
I put some of the mix in a chicken bouillon jar (he's vegetarian ) and I just eat it like peanut butter (with a spoon or on a "pop cake"--4g carb). I just can't put them in muffin cups or they disappear.

I really need something I have to chew...if I just have a fat bomb or a beverage, I feel like I have pills stuck in throat.

I like Babybel and string cheese, pork rinds, small amounts of almonds, pistachios, or macadamia nuts, and hard boiled eggs. Occasionally some almond butter on coconut flour bread.

Weigh in: 186.4. I'll probably have a bounce up this week thanks to yesterday being higher carb, but at least I'm seeing a net loss for now.

I probably won't be around much the rest of this week. I have the chance to work lots of overtime, and make some $$$.
