That's nice to know. My SIL went on LC at same time and has lost almost 25 lbs in 2 mo. When he asks my DD why I am not losing she says it's probably because I'm overeating the diet. And I have not cheated at all.....Steam:::
He even has a cheat day every week. Hate him.

That is probably the first thing I'd do Lindy. Eat more calories as fat and maybe cut back a little on protein. Probably you need in the range of 75g to 100g of protein which isn't very much between lunch and dinner. Remember, though, grams of protein is not the same thing as grams of meat. Try calories around 1700 to 1800.

Yes, I take 3 99mg potassium a day and 3 cal/mag/zinc per day. I can't remember what the # is on the cal/mag/zinc but its 33% of daily value.

I just wanted to chime in that I'm having the same troubles! And though I have PCOS which can cause irregular cycles, they've been 100% regulated since I started using birth control for it years and years ago... so I can definitely attribute it to this WOE!

It's been such a pain, and it happened last cycle too... but my research turned up the same exact thing, and that a LOT of women who do LC experience the same things. That at least made me feel better, but believe me... you're not alone on this thread either

I just hope it actually STOPS at some point, because 5-7 days a month was already bad enough!

I'm at 965 calories for the day and trying to aim for 1600-1700, but am so not hungry right now. I had coffee with hwc & coconut oil for breakfast, an early lunch of cheese omelet and sausage, and a snack of 2 squares dark chocolate with peanut butter. I probably should have skipped the snack.

Hopefully I will be hungry enough for dinner in a couple of hours. I was planning to make kale salad with blue cheese dressing, and have that with a hamburger patty.

When I'm low on calories for the day and don't really know where to add anything, I usually try and slip some extra HWC or coconut oil into something I'm having... even if that means another bulletproof tea or something I find that even when I'm not SUPER hungry, or if I'm trying to watch something else at the same time (like my protein or my sodium) that works out really nicely since they're both so fat dense and high in calories!

One off day on calories won't matter much. Just try to figure out how you ended up needing so many at the end of the day and think of ways to spread out your calories so it doesn't happen very often.

Todays stats...

blood ketones: 2.6
165.4 lb. ( was 165.0 yesterday morning)
Calories: 1,755

fat: 149
protein: 76
carbs: 20

76/17/5

I rarely snack, but this afternoon I had almonds! Was pleased with my ketone reading this morning... I was a bit concerned yesterday when learned that the cucumber salad I had, had a bit od sugar in it.

One thing I'm wondering about is I've always been lucky and able to sleep well... the last week and a half I just toss and turn and seem like I'm up half the night. Today I was so wiped out I took a nap and I never do that! Any ideas what's going on? Anyone? I thought this WOE helped with sound sleeping?

ETA: Oops! forgot to add what I ate...
B:
bulletproof coffee
breakfast muffin
1/2 avocado

L:
ground beef patty topped with raw organic sharp cheddar
cream of broccoli soup (yummmmmmmm)

D:
L/O pork roast
steamed broccoli

snack: 28g almonds

Hi Lindy,

Forgive me for kibbutzing, but I also took Paxil for 6 months...it really screwed me up. I had the "zaps", muscle twitches, and an apathetic attitude that nearly lost me my job. I also gained 20 lbs. and it took another 6 months for my system to reset itself once I quit taking it. IMHO, that stuff is horrible. Any chance you could switch to another antidepressant? There are a few out there that have a better track record, in terms of weight loss/gain, and without the side effects.

I'm trying to focus on getting my ketones up this month. I've was in light ketosis during March and had very little weight loss, but I'm recommitting to doing this right. I weighed in this morning and plan to not step on the scale until May 1st. I hope to be at 181 lbs. by then. My weight today was 185.2 lbs, ketones at 1.3.

B: bulletproof coffee
S: boullion with 1/2 & 1/2
L: duck egg omelette with cheddar, 3 sausage links, cabbage with sesame dressing
S: coffee, 1/2 & 1/2
D: Pork rinds, PB, chocolate and coconut oil (better than it sounds)

Calories: 1785 • 81% fat, 15% protein, 4% carb

I kind of rediscovered pork rinds tonight. I haven't cared for them in the past, but I bought a new brand and I LOVE them. I found a recipe for LC Puppy Chow - combine PB, dark cocoa powder and coconut oil, sweeten to taste and coat the pork rinds with the mixture. It was pretty good, and a nice change to have something I didn't really have to cook.

Does anyone have like a free day or cheat day and then get back on high fat and lose weight? I did and it was like I revved up my metabolism. High fat combined with intermittant fasting and then all day eat days seem like a good combo.

Bulletproof coffee has a combination of fats in it. Butter, coconut oil, and heavy whipping cream are the main ingredients but not necessarily all three. I like to use CO and HWC in mine. It helps to get your fat in and also helps with IF.

NK stands for nutritional ketosis, which means that you can actually measure your ketones in the blood. It's different than using the pee strips.
