A solid ... maybe. Depends on what it was. I wouldn't eat a cookie even if my total carbs for the day were well under 50g. Or a mini candy bar or something like that. Junk food I guess is what I mean.

I'd eat the frozen meal though. Probably I'd save it for one of those days I was too lazy or maybe not feeling well enough to cook something.

Holy moly! Cottage cheese has a heck of a lot of protein! It is a bit carby but I'd eat it if I were so inclined. The protein is really high though. My food logger shows 27g for 1 ounce. Wow. It might be a great way to catch up on protein if your calories are about right and your protein is low for the day.

I should know about my thyroid within a couple days.
When I tried this last year I had tons of energy pretty quickly. How long did it take you? Mine has been declining but I think that's thyroid.

The fatigue and flu stuff is unique to each person from what I've seen posted. As I recall I had a few days for sure where I was really dragging, way back when I first started. When I restarted after the smoking fiasco I don't recall any fatigue but it sure as heck took several days to get the appetite suppression back. In fact, I had a week at least of false starts because of that - crazy hungry and fall right off plan.

I wouldn't worry about ratios while you are on the trip. Just keep carbs as low as possible and try to get in plenty of fat. Take CO for sure. As long as you are diligent about NK between now and then you should whip everyone else on staying power while hiking.
Haha I hope that's the case! Thanks for the link and advice.

hmm i'm not finding the 27g pro...i found one brand by daisy which shows 4% milk fat and you get 1/2 cup (113g) with 13g protein on their label but funny their website says: Whether you’re enjoying it as a quick snack or making a healthy meal, Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese is an excellent source of protein to help keep you going throughout the day. It has 14 grams of protein per ½–cup serving!

Shows 3 carb from 0 fiber and 3 sugars...so 3 carbs for 1/2 cup (which seems like a decent serv size!) and 13ish protein...i will def pick this up at the store for something different!

Maybe I should throw out my cottage cheese. 7g carb, 11g pro, 5 g fat. That's 1/2 cup.

great question as i have wondered this too...someone asked if anyone eats 2 whole avocado's a day and that made me think well, i would think you could if it "fits" your plan to get you to the #s you need/want. i usually have one per day at least but the one i had today was HUGE and usually they are about 100g per avo but this one was 175g! i ate it all and it was yummy lol...

i ate a quest bar and if you don't calculate "net" carbs they are HIGH in carbs since TONS of fiber and it didn't seem to hinder me but i wouldn't eat it often...i'm trying to not eat junk food or processed foods as much as possible.

Weigh in this morning: 187 for a new low. I woke up too late to fix breakfast and had to stop at 7-11 on the way to work for coffee. My lunch break is only a half hour, so I'm going to have to bring food or skip eating. Today I snacked on peanuts and beef jerky. Maybe not the greatest choice but at least it was somewhat low carb.

Hi all! Checking in from LA. We were delayed with the weather in Denver so we are still here. I am SO PROUD!!! I made 5 batches of frosting, helped decorate a cake and did 24 cupcakes and I haven't cheated once! Not a finger lick, nothing!

I'm excited to get back home and see if I've lost anything while I've been here.

Hope everyone else has been doing well also.

No! You are not lazy.
Thyroid is so much more than lab results.
Lots of things can make you feel tired. And just because your thyroid labs say "normal" it doesn't mean that your thyroid is running at optimal levels for your body.
Hang in there. I get the same way. My thyroid takes spells but the doctors don't help much.
You said it was 26 degrees there. Do you take vitamin D?

you are so sweet!
I just started taking vitamin D about 2 weeks ago.
Do you exercise? Some say if you exercise it'll help you have more energy. But I don't even feel like doing that. And I don't want it to mess with my WL plan right now.

Same here. I exercise when I feel like it. But if I am tired and draggy I don't, and I don't worry about it. A few weeks ago I was bouncing off the wall with all kinds of energy, so I did exercise. Last week I was dragging and tired. Today I am a little better but still not as good as a few weeks ago.
I don't wanna mess up my WL either

STRAWBERRY FOOL - Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

I made mine more simple.
I Just used strawberry SF jello and mixed it with .5 cup boiling water to dissolve it. Then I used the mixer to beat in some cream cheese, 1 Tbsp HWC and put in a few strawberries and chilled it. I ate it with 2 tbsp. cool whip.

Stop the presses! I misread my food logger. It was set to 1 cup of cottage cheese lol Doh! I never eat it. I tried it once and it just tasted vaguely milky and chalky and I don't care for milk or chalk much.

I don't know how I missed that because 1oz of anything with 27g of protein would taste awful.

Just on the by and by and for the lurkers...

Remember, NK, and counting total carbs, is about maintaining a range of blood ketone levels not carb intolerance mitigation. Net carbs is all about carb intolerance.

That is great news!

It probably is induction flu related. I think I'd keep calories where they are for another several days until you get adapted then tweak if you need to. Maybe eat a little more fat to try to get energy levels up a bit even if it bumps the scale up a bit.

Every now and then I'll be tinkering with my log trying to figure out dinner to get calories and macros right and I'll forget that I added something but didn't eat it, like bacon or something. Then I am short 300 cals and a bunch of fat lol.
