Eat, Drink and Get Thin

The Ernst R. Reinsh, M.D. way. :shake:

Published in 1969 and very similar to Dr. Atkins WOE, my trainer gave me the go ahead to put this plan into action. I should NOT be afraid to eat wisely.

So in a nutshell..(no pun intended)

No flour products
No potatoes
No cereals
No ice cream
No candy
No soft drinks
No apples (yes, you read this right)
No highly salted foods (such as anchovies)

Beans, lentils, corn, liquor, nuts, artificial jellos, gelatine, coffee, cheese, and liquids in general are restricted. (Moderation is key.)

What is good for you:
All meats no matter how fatty.n
Eggs
All fish and seafood
Butter, oil, and lard are okay
Cream
Salad dressings (mayo is good)
All vegetables (except potatoes)

It's a start. :sing:

On day 2...let's see what the rest of the week brings.

I'm not understanding how this relates to NK.

LJB 03-26-2013 01:42 PM

It is a high fat, low-carb plan.

Thanks for the info, but there is already a forum for Eat Fat Get Thin. :dunno: It looks similar to NK but doesn't involve testing blood for ketones and may be lower in protein.

Lora, Thanks for your post. I notice in your profile that you have a restart date. I mention this only because I am also doing a somewhat restart of Atkins. I lost my 35 lbs in 2009 and have noticed recently that I am gradually starting to regain. I went back into induction by removing almost all carbs but, am still having problems getting rid of my access 5 lbs. I have tried the lower protein and higher fat concept so popular now but am having trouble eating enough without having my protein be access. Sorry to ramble on, I will be interested in how your 'restart' goes.

LJB,
How is this diet working for you? I like the idea of having more veggies!
