Real or water weight?
I don't know if I'm in ketosis, but I assume I am. My breath and pee stink, my appetite is down. I have lost 8 pounds in 5 days. I started this journey last Thursday and have gone from 294 to 286.

Yay, me....but I worry it's water weight.

Did you measure yourself before you started? (Ex. waist, hips, wrist)

You could always look to see if these have changed as well.

Congratulations! It will likely to be fluid and some fat but does it really matter? It is the beginning process of an on going strategy to better health which includes weight loss - you are on your new journey!!!:clap:

Wow! 8 lbs? :jumpjoy: It may be water weight, but claim all of it, and wait for more to disappear. Sounds like you found the plan that your body likes - from what you described, you're definitely in ketosis. On the good side, the icky side effects will go away as your body gets used to being in ketosis.

It might be partly water - it doesn't matter ..... it is still your body's way of trying to work its way down to a healthy weight!

Yes it's water, but your body still needs to get rid of the water to burn the fat, so it's the first step in the process.

I agree with the others - losing water weight is part of the journey on this WOE, and is nothing to worry about it. The weight loss will likely be slower from here on out, but will be actual fat loss.
