Okay today's weigh in 191.0 so dropped .8 from yesterday. I'll take it

Today is going to be kinda strange as we have an Easter lunch with my wife's grandmother and she's doing a turkey (for Easter??) so yeah, I'll post up tonight my macros, but they will be off because of lunch. I figure, I'll just stick to dark meat and some salad and call it a lunch, lol.

Congrats on all the losses today, and thanks for being such a welcoming and supportive group.

Congrats!!!

Sounds like a good plan for handling lunch. Maybe eat something LC before you go to shore up your LC willpower.

I will be satisfied around 19-20% BF. Really, whatever weight/BF I get to where my love handles disappear, I will be happy.

Kind of annoyed right now as none of my size 4 pants are fitting due to my legs getting bigger from tons of kettlebell swings and lower body exercises, but oh well. I've been adding back in running 3-4x a week to lean out a bit.

I should add that my actual body weight at this point isn't bothering me in the slighest because I know it is muscle. When I weighed 130 a couple years ago, I was wearing 6-8 pants.

haha, it's just Sara Lee diet wheat bread with natural peanut butter. The bread has 7 carbs and 2.5 g fiber per slice. I guess it's kind of a cheat but I managed to fit it in without going over on carbs for the day.

I had to throw out the loaf though because I don't eat bread every day, and then only 1 slice. It went moldy! Next time I'll keep it in the freezer.

Weigh in this morning: 188, same as last Sunday. booo-urns. I averaged 1480 calories per day over the last week, and 79 g of protein.

I'm going to make an effort to up my calories to 1600 this week and see how it goes. I also need to cut out stuff like LC wraps and get back to the basics with more vegetables and fat.

Try avoiding wheat based but LC friendly foods like that bread too Lisa

I don't think I have a problem with wheat or gluten, but agree that non-starchy vegetables or even a few berries are a better choice for carbs.

I'm checking out Linda Sue's side dish recipes for vegetable ideas. The caveman keto blog also has some great recipes.

Grilled salmon and roasted brussel sprouts in onion and bacon grease with 1/4 cup of left over smoked beef brisket. Oh my goodness. If you like brussel sprouts this is a yummy recipe. You could also substitute bacon.

Clueless: I like to add almond extract to my ricotta with a touch of vanilla splenda, toast almonds and sprinkled on top.

If I am really good I just use ricotta with 4 drops of capella flavor--called cake batter or hot cocoa concentrate (no calories, carbs or sweetners). This helps me if I have having need for a "sweet dessert".

Here is a very interesting podcast I just listened to: Google "fat burning man Dr. Lauren Noel: Food as Medicine, Why Doctors Smoke, and How to Have a Rockstar Poop".

Right at 15 minutes Abel asks Dr. Noel about having a rockstar poop. She talks about probiotics, prebiotics, eating environment, et. al. She also mentions drinking too much while eating because it dilutes your stomach acid. That is very interesting all by itself but it is also really interesting because limiting fluids is part of the Leptin Reset that Deb34 posted a few days ago.

Right at 25 minutes Dr. Noel talks about thyroid. She says that gut flora can be a big player in thyroid health. And she says that gut flora can take a long time to recover from antibiotics. She also describes TSH, T4 and T3 and making sure the doc is actually testing for T3 instead of diagnosis by inferring from the other two numbers.

Lots of other good stuff on the podcast too.

I was worried that I had kicked myself out of NK from a dinner we had Friday night. I tested this morning and I was at 0.5 so happy about that. Ordered a new digital scale and I can't wait to get it! The one I have now is not digital and is a pain to use.

Oh, I wasn't thinking in terms of wheat or gluten intolerance. I was thinking about the insulin response to wheat. You'll have that even if you could otherwise live on a wheat diet.

I have studied a lot about thyroid disease thru the years. This comes up a lot. I have not had my fillings removed though. I have not been in the position to do that. I am more prone to an overactive thyroid so I am generally able to manage without medications once I educated myself.
Doctors in my part are not very open to working with the patient. I had 2 pretty awful Drs.
One had me taking 6 PTU pills a day for a year. He only rechecked in 6 month apts. When he checked my numbers they were in the lowest range of normal and he demanded I continue taking 6 PTU a day. I was so lethargic at that point I was in tears daily. And hardly able to function. So he prescribed antidepressants.
I came home Threw all the pills in the trash.
It took me along time to get my body figured out but I am a lot better now.
Thyroid disease is not very well understood by most Drs.

Sup pals. Haven't been on in a while. It was
Passover and family was in town. I ate mostly well but did gain some water weight. Haven't really been on the site till now. Down to 321.9 this morning which is my lowest lately. However - I'm currently at my sisters in Toronto and the start of another sales trip. :/ oh boy.

Today:

B:black coffee, slice chicken enchilada bake w/ salsa
L: 1 oz macadamia nuts, cup bouillon w/ 3T HWC
D: 2 pickles, 2 HB eggs, 4 slices of bacon

1059 calories/86g fat/14g carbs (10 net)/61g protein

Stomach feels weird, think its the D3 I'm taking. I feel really full.


ETA: I just had a huge breakthrough. Was dying for some frozen yogurt and almost went to get it. Instead, I had a couple tablespoons of almond butter straight off the spoon and felt completely gluttonous. It was awesome and my froyo craving is gone.

New macros:
1331 calories/111g fat/23g carbs (17 net)/68g protein

Those numbers look better all around.
