I ate a handful of almonds (18 to be exact) with my vodka & diet sunkist. I've had less than 1,000 calories but I think I'm done for the day.

Thanks for the well wishes, I hope the job works out. The real training starts Monday so I have all weekend to eat well, rest up, and get my brain in gear.

Good luck with the job lisa!

I was up a half pound today, but between exercising and not sleeping more than 3 hours overnight I'm actually surprised my cortisol didn't cause me to fluctuate more than that... I might see a bit more tomorrow unfortunately, but I'm hoping not because I had a pretty good day food-wise!

Totals for the day:

1549 calories, 136g fat, 68g protein, 10 total carbs, 3g sugar

80% Fat | 17% Protein | 3% Carbs

Checking in. Nice reading everyone's posts. Great job on the losses!

Finished with my FF yesterday. Thanks for the tips on that- ended up just doing a higher calorie one (1800 at 90% fat). I will wait to re-attempt a 1000cal FF when I'm fully keto-adapted.

Today:

M1: Coffee with 2T MCT, 1T butter, 1T HWC
M2: 2oz Smoked Salmon, Bacon x2
M3: Bacon x2, 1/2oz macademia nuts
M4: BACON x3
M5: Omelette w/ xtra eggwhites and red bellpeppers, mushrooms, 1/3 avocado, 1 oz brie

a very bacony day

SO much better!! I did 15 man style push ups before having to switch to my knees to finish the 20 for each rep, but a week ago I couldn't do any of them man style (when higher carb I could).

I felt much better after the workout, too. Looks like I'm gonna have to start taking those cubes to work with me. It didn't taste as bad as I thought it would either.

Best part? My instructor has noticed how well my hubby and I are doing and she asked about it. She had already been researching some, but she asked me lots of questions, and I send her a bunch of information. I think she may be a convert! She doesn't have much she want's to lose but she thinks she has some insulin resistance and she also has thyroid problems as well.

So happy you had a great workout!!!
Try Casey's HWC and bullion sometime, It's delicious. Pickles are good too. Congrats on the instructor noticing. That's a big deal.
15 man pushup? We know who to call when we need some muscle!

130.6 this morning, -1 from yesterday.. I am afraid the carb influx from that whole avocado I ate slowed my weight loss down, but I'm not going to tweak anything until I stall.

Amanda-- great job on the pushups. I can't even do a single one! Its so strange because I am thisclose to being able to do unassisted chin-ups, but can't do a pushup to save my life!

Studying for Income Tax all day, uck.

I am loving how I am starting to feel on this woe.

my stats:

1532 calories
132 fat
73 protein
19 carbs

77/19/4

Weight the same, but feeling stomach area does not have as many rolls.

Found a new love, babybel cheese from costco. I never have tried it and love it.
Also, uncured bacon and salami. It tastes so much better than cured and with eating less food, so worth the prices.

Made Spaghetti and meatballs for DH-DD and didn't even have a bite. This is a big deal for me personally as they are thinking I am a little crazy eating so much fat. This is after my daughter found my ziplock back of gross looking bacon grease in the lunchmeat drawer. Pure yumminess for me.

I am the type of person that tends to be encouraging. My Mom said I was this way from the age of 3. I have grown up in a household that had crazy/chaotic Domestic violence. I share this as just background information to say this.

It is important to me to have other support from people that have like minded values. No more closed systems of sharing truthful experience. Having a place to share my ups and downs on what it means to switch a lifestyle change and to learn a new way to eat, is priceless. This forum is providing me with knowledge, inspiration, answers, humor and care. I like to slow down and remind myself that I have enough to get this changed up. It really is the little steps of tracking daily, weighing in, writing a menu plan, making grocery lists , asking questions and giving and sharing support that makes this change easier.
Daily committed actions===new values of caring for self.

Life wants to shame you sometimes saying that I am not enough. The greatest antidote to that.....is saying I have enough and I am grateful for what I do have in the now.

So thanks for the support and safe place for me to say I am thankful right now for the support I am getting with this lifestyle change that seems so counter-cultural to what I have been taught most of my life about food-fat. I am leaning the new language of NK.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I weighed in at 188 Friday morning. No change but at least I didn't bounce back up.

I started off this morning with a big breakfast. Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage links, and coffee with coconut oil & hwc.

~138 this morning. Down 2lbs from yesterday if my old-fashioned scale is correct. I think I need an electronic one.

Yay mizzcase and clueless!

Helpingrachel, I'm loving the lard too... have a jar of it in the fridge.

Babybel is mighty tasty

I get the 48oz Wright's Ends and Pieces and cook it all up in two or three batches. Makes a ton of bacon grease. I've been using a thick walled plastic cup thing but I'm going to get a mason jar next time I'm at the store.

I feel really swollen today, so I'm going to make sure I drink plenty of extra water to go with my broth. I'm doing body conditioning in about an hour. I will report back on energy levels during an almost hour long class. I've for my fingers crossed. I also think we are finally breaking down and getting a Costco membership today. I heard they have sweet deals on coconut oil and such.

I meant to tell that you may expect some water weight if you haven't been adding broth. Adding broth makes me feel better but I did retain water afew times till I found the right amount for me. I love it so I can over do it sometimes. It also makes me feel full. Hope you have a great workout!!

I just have to say:misscase, your chicken bullion with the hwc is the bomb!

I am waiting for my new ketone strips. I hate not having any. It's been a bad week in terms of trying to eat properly. We have been to dinner three times this week at other people's homes. Yikes!

That's what I use. You can find plastic screw-on tops for the mason jars too; much nicer than picking off a greasy metal one every time you want to use it. :P

I agree!!

Helpingrachel:

I can fully relate to your earlier life experience. I also agree that I'd not be where I am today without the support of these boards. Thanks to everyone for all the support you constantly give. We can absorb it too, just by reading, even though we don't post often. Dot

So today I'm stalled at 191.4 and I think it's because I went over on carbs last night. I usually stay about 15 or less and tried something new and hit 21. But I'm wondering if it's just water weight. Quick question, are pickles better than bouillon cubes? The kind I'm taking right now is about 1.2g of sodium. But to be honest, I can't stand the taste of those things and would love to just do a bottle of Power Aid zero and a pickle lol.

Babybells are awesome, I usually do 1 a night or if you want some really yummy cheese, try the Kerrygold Irish cheese. They are usually in your fine cheese section at grocery stores, at least over here. A 1oz piece (which is really large) is 95kcal, 9g fat, 4g protein.

Anyone weigh their food? I do and I realized that things you think weigh something are totally off. I had this huge piece of cheese last night and I was sure it was going to be 2oz and it was only 1.65. And now, like the geek I am, I'm weighing the most random things just to see how much they weigh, like pens and rings, etc.
