So happy!! Bought 24 packs of zero carb, zero calorie noodles from Crowdsavings. Heck of a deal.

I won't mention prices for fear of violating rules but google it if you are interested. Those shirataki noodles have really helped me enjoy my favorite pasta dishes.

I want to try making pad Thai next. Or a low carb version of Pei Wei's Dan Dan Noodles!

Hi. My name is Kelly and I am a carb addict.
I admit to having intense feelings of betrayal with wheat. Like when Mrs. Wolverton found out Mr. Wolverton was a depraved lunatic serial killer.

Oh great! I've never seen whatever it is you're talking about. Totally spoiled it for me. Hehehe

Now off to google to find out about these Wolvertons.

Hello a question please, when a person reaches their goal weight doing ketogenic diet, does the weight stabilizes on it's own or you keep losing?

You up your calories (either through carbs, protein, or fat) until you find a maintenance level right for you.

I never was much of a cat person till I lived with one for a few months once. That one was a nut for boxes and he liked playing chase with my dog

What do you do with your buddy when you go out of town Myles?

Push calories up to stabilize. Either fat or fat and protein. Assuming you are keeping calories down to lose by tracking them you might try eating to appetite while continuing to log and weigh-in for a while until you get a feel for about the right amount of food to maintain.

I was counting everything but it was driving me a little crazy so now I'm just letting hunger be my guide and trying to eat right. Like yesterday I was hungry so I ate. If I'm not hungry I don't eat or I'll nibble. It seems to fluctuate and I've just been going with it to see how it does.

I am monitoring my ketones and blood glucose though. If I have a stall I'm sure I'll start measuring and weighing everything again. It's more of an experiment at this time.

Max loves boxes too, and he is similar to a dog...follows me everywhere..comes when i call him.. plays fetch..

I have a lady who comes and fees him once a day and hopefully plays with him a bit when i'm out of town.

oH, also he curls up and sleeps kind of on me ...EVERY NIGHT when i'm watching tv.

I'm feeling like even when I am not hungry I have to eat because if I don't get all those cals in I don't lose. Sigh...I was just hoping to copy you and pray for similar results.

I did a nerdy spreadsheet analysis of the past 3 weeks. I am down 3.8 overall but at least some of that was water weight.

The first period of 9 days I lost 3lbs averaging 1660 net cals, 1759 total cals, 142g fat, 90 pro, 27 carbs

The 2nd period of 9 days I lost nothing bouncing up and then back down to where I was at the end of the first 9 days. Net cals: 1589, total cals: 1674, 132 fat, 91 pro, 26 carbs

The 3rd period of 8 days I've lost .8 with an average of 1520 net cals, 1710 total, 140g fat, 88 pro, 22 carbs

My system seems to be flushing today, so maybe ill see a whoosh but it seems like those hundred calories make a big difference for me?

It's funny how we're all a little different. Some have to keep carbs under 20 to lose weight while others can have a lot more. Some have to keep calories around 1200 to lose and others can have more. Just gotta play around and find what works best for you. Though it can be frustrating!!

You got that right. The most frustrating is when you havent found something that works yet and havent lost anything while trying to figure it out.

Did you lose most of your 100 lbs on Atkins or LC? How long you been doing NK?
I lost about 40 lbs without even realizing it - I decided to cut 2% milk from my life as it was killing my stomach. Over some period of time I dropped weight because of the milk and then the fact that I never had milk alone...boxes of cereal, packages of cookies, yeah...it was bad. I def have binge eating issues but realized that it was causing me so much pain. I don't even know if I'm lactose intolerant but cutting the 2% milk made me feel SO much better. I had a yearly doc visit and found that I'd dropped 40lbs from the last visit and I was surprised. I didn't really monitor my weight but was at 263 then suddenly 223 and was like well maybe if I put some effort into it I can lose about 25lbs and be under 200 so I started with Jorge Cruise Belly Fat Cure plan which limited me to 15g of sugar per day and up to 120g carb. I lost a lot of weight with this plan and LOVED it. Really opened my eyes to sugar in foods. I slowly started cutting carbs back further and further until I was basically doing induction. Then I read about fat fasting and love doing that then that really opened my eyes to importance of fat and then came across NK which I am pretty new to and it's been "different" because I'm now trying to keep % in mind where as before it was counting just carbs and or sugar.

Anyway, def love living low carb and love the way I feel. I'm hoping to continue losing about 15 more lbs to be around 150 then once I hit my goal weight I want to focus on getting more and more fit, being able to run longer/faster, lift more weights and not counting calories but still follow a low carb lifestyle that someday will include a little more carbs...like berries, quinoa, stuff like that, eating clean foods but some carbs.

I hope everyone is having a GREAT NK day!

My job is doing a big loser contest and we weigh in Wed mornings so M/Tues of this week I ate lighter and then was super hungry Wed so pigged out on all NK approved foods but over ate and so today to make sure I don't keep that going I am doing fat fast and feeling GREAT. Tomorrow will be back to working on the 65/30/5%

Do any of you ever "bounce" around like with the fat fasting, induction rules (which can be NK in my mind...), NK, stuff like that? I feel like for me right now the bouncing is more for this weight loss contest and not really something I will do always, other than if I have a "bad" day I find that doing fat fast really helps me get back on track. I think long term for the next year or so my focus really will be NK as I think I feel the best and I'm seeing great results! Yay!

Really enjoyed reading your story, congrats on your weight loss!

I do bounce back and forth between NK and straight up fat fasts (90% fat) if I find myself getting too relaxed. I am a perfectionist so if I don't lose weight for 2 days in a row, I'll do a day of fat fasting to get the scale moving again.

I am recovering from an eating disorder (I think its kind of like alcoholism, you're never fully recovered.. thoughts are always in the back of my mind--guess thats why I like the meticulous tracking of NK).. so when I feel those negative thoughts creeping into my head regarding calories and tracking, I'll stop counting and basically follow a Paleo/Primal way of eating for a couple weeks. It halts or even reverses weight loss so I always end up reverting to NK.

Hey! Thanks!

My menu will typically be eggs for breakfast with coffee (put SF splenda flavored syrups and HWC). I like to have a snack of pepperoni with cream cheese. I often eat avocado with tuna or grilled chicken. Tuna is my fave since it's EASY lol...We make big batches of ground up meat like ground turkey, chicken, hamburger and then we can just get a bowl of ground meat and I will put shredded cheese (right now my favorite is the taco seasoned shredded cheese - like 1 carb for 1/3 cup I think), heat it up and it's all cheesy melty and will either dip into a little sour cream or stir the sour cream into it. I also like to mix cream cheese into the burger and sometimes put sour cream in it to make it like a stroganoff with no noodles...Usually on Sun I will make a bunch of hard boiled eggs and I eat those a LOT. I mix with a little mustard and mayo for like an egg salad or just cut in half and dip in a little mustard is good too. I like the hard boiled eggs in tuna with mayo and for a treat will eat some SF sweet relish, but try not to use it too often.

We make a LOT of omelettes at my house with usually 3 eggs and full of bacon, meat and some cheese and mushrooms, peppers, onions...

For treats I like to make cream cheese and eggs blended up and make little "pancakes" with SF syrup, soooo good.

I eat pretty boring - I've always been a bland eater LOL so a can of tuna is fine with me but learning to add some spices here and there now that my taste buds have changed a lot over the year.

When I do fat fasting I limit calories to 1000 and 90%+ calories are fat so these days it's usually coconut oil and heavy cream...and of course my strong multi vitamin lol...

Great story

I do not change up very often. I avoid it so I can have N of 1 data about my mostly vanilla approach to NK.

I like very short term Fat Fasts for the physicality of recommitting to the woe. But I don't care much for FFs longer than a day or two because of the problem with losing LBM from very low or no protein.
