Don't sweat it. I am so glad you took the day off and enjoyed your anniversary.
Congratulation
I was just getting ready to ask you how it went.

Darn it.
I thought I went a week with no soy. The dips mix I used in my salad dressing had MSG in it. I forgot MSG is derived from soy.

Gonna be a challenge, soy is in everything.
Don't know if it is all in my head but my goiter does feel a little bit smaller.
When I have a lot of stress it can get pretty big so I try to keep cool and keep drama out of my life

Weigh-in this morning ... 200.6 for a bounce but I expected a bounce of some sort this morning. I snacked on some pork sausage with butter late in the evening.

Rinse the heck out of those noodles in a colander. I nuke them for 2 minutes, drain them well in a colander, nuke again for 90-120 seconds more. I want them hot and dry! Then add the sauce. No fishy smell. You just have to get used to the texture. I like to use scissors to cut the long noodles into smaller pieces before adding the sauce.

The texture was the hardest for me to over come but if it means I can have spaghetti and meat sauce or macaroni and cheese again, then I'll overlook the texture!

Was not hungry at all yesterday! Very different from Thursday. I had some Ketocoffee (coffee blended with sf caramel sweetener, HWC, and coconut oil), guacamole, a few nuts, cheese, tequila on ice with lime (such a pretty day for sitting in the sun with a cold drink) then went out for blackened oysters with butter. Omg! They were sooooo good!

Drank tons of water too.

The ketones have been at the exact same level for the past two days.

Have a great Saturday!

And when I'm hungry even after eating I always go for eggs hence more protein. I think I will try going for fat instead of protein when I'm hungry, see if it helps.
It'd be better to use heavy whipping cream instead of whole milk because of the sugars in milk Sarah.

How many grams of protein are you eating?
Great idea Liz! thanks i think i will start a performance thread. I am aiming for 80-85 grams protein ( I fell short yesterday with only 70) I had a super light dinner last night and just a poached egg today before my run and definitely did not feel as strong as yesterday. I ran slower and shorter and felt much more fatigued. I know I'm not keto adapted yet (on day 6 today since I started) and am dropping weight like crazy. Was 147 this a.m. I think I need to ensure I keep my calories up and protein up. Also give myself some leeway to adapt and not push too hard. I can't believe how not hungry I am though. That is the best part!

Happy saturday everyone!!

Red,
Not to be paranoid about the headache, but are you sure there isn't someone playing shenanigans with your coffee? I mean, are you sure it has not been replaced with decaf?

See, No worries. I am sure he has pad locks on his fridge and coffee.

Does anyone use xylitol. I was thinking of trying it but noticed it has 4g of carbs per tsp, the same as reg sugar. I know those are sugar alcohols. Do you count them on NK?

Hi Clueless! Thanks for the welcome earlier. :-)

I read that xylitol DOES affect blood sugar even though some say it does not - so sad for me as I use xylitol toothpaste and heard that even that can raise blood sugar! Some say erythritol is the only sugar alcohol that does not. I just want to get to the finish line as soon as possible so I will stick to stevia drops.

As mentioned before, your body will use some of the carbs from xylitol (something like 50%), but it also comes with a big ol' kicker: it's one of the worst sugar alcohols for producing unpleasant side effects which will make you very unpopular in confined spaces. I personally avoid anything that ends in "ol", aside from erythritol, which for some reason doesn't cause those problems.

Sunday weigh in

Yesterday: 197.2
Today: 197.9
Ketones: 2.4

Up a little today. I'm a little surprised but I expect a drop tomorrow. Just seems to be an up-down-up-down way to lose. As lon as the trend is down, I'm happy.

Made jalapeño poppers yesterday like Myles did. I mixed the cooked bacon and cream cheese together, stuffed it in halved jalapeños and broiled. Yum!!

For dinner I had spaghetti!! Over shirataki noodles of course. Was so good and filling.

Ketones are perfect. I'm not hungry. Hoping for another whoosh tomorrow.

Happy St Patty Day!!! Avoid the green beer. It's bad for you. It'll make you break out in fat. Hehe

My grandmother drank coffee all her adult life, and would get headaches if she didn't have at least 1 cup. She lived to be 103.
