i ate too much protein yesterday, like for sure. Even tho 58 grams was from a WHOLE bag of pork rinds, even without that i ate close to 200 grams which i guess is too much. I gained .4, but i didn't drink much water either. Steaks have too much protein, and i just make them too damn good. Need to get some veggies in as well. anyways...

Day 3 of no dairy today, going to fry a bunch of bacon and take it to work along with some other stuff if i can find it in fridge

p.s. as you can see i got my forum name changed :P

Oh - and i tested blood ketones and blood sugar for no reason this morning. Stil a useless .2 ketones and 5.6 sugars (100.9) - pretty sure these are meaningless numbers yes?

My calories and protein were lower than usual yesterday. I just couldn't eat. I was like ok that will be good maybe I will start to lose some weight. But I was wound up and couldn't sleep. Only slept a few hours. Then my legs started hurting. I am freezing and my body temp is under 97. (I usually keep a check on my body temp to watch my thyroid)

Hummmm

Myles, you crack me up! I feel the same way about my steak. It's just so good!! Lol

Was that your fasting glucose number? I don't know what yours usually runs but mine seems to go up if I've had too much protein at once. diet Coke also sends it up. And I think Jimmy Moore had even talked about his ketone levels dropping after a while. Don't quote me on that. I'll have to check.

Ugh! How long can 5lbs of water weight hang on??? I've stayed the same UP 5lbs from Sunday morning (after Friday nights EVIL debauchery) I've been STRICT NK, good on cals, % and grams, plenty of water, no meds (though, i'm suspecting hormones are outta whack!) I did just take a zyrtec...can't take the itchy eye anymore!

CONGRATS on all the losses this AM!

At 224 pounds it is about 1.96g/kg so still within the 1.5 to 2.0 gram range. I've gone over 3g/kg on occasion.

Weigh-in Mar 12, 2013

Weigh-in this morning ... 201.2 a two and a half pound bounce lol. Dang. I was up late last night more junk going on around here. If I'd have had some inkling of what was to come with my brother when I was a teenager I might have taken a poke at my Dad.

Weigh in this morning shows I'm down .6 lbs from 191.8 to 191.2. It isn't much, but at least the scale is moving downward again. I'm hoping to get below 190 over the next 2 weeks.

I'm not sure what I'm going to eat today. A friend is in town and we will probably go out to eat later. I'm going to save most of my carbs for that meal so I don't blow it for the day. I'm not too worried about getting kicked out of ketosis, because I know from past experience that I can lose on up to 50 carbs per day.

Morning all! Dang when you get behind a day, it's really hard to catch up!

Things are going well here...losing, but slowly

Sunday w.i. was 191.4, bounced on Monday....I'm thinking of only weighing in once a week because bounces from not being able to go potty or water weight are annoying.

I've been battling horrendous reflux and yesterday drank a considerable amount of mylanta, it took me from moderate ketones to trace. Anyone else ever have that issue?

Congrats Lisa, Becky, Dasschus, Amanda and Cheryl

I'm slightly up today but I'm still in the same 1lb range that I've been in the last 2 weeks. The end of this week will mark 4 weeks for me, so I'm going to take some progress pics. I actually think I'll see the biggest difference here - even more so then on the scale and measurements.

Sorry about your cat!! She will be missed!!

Stayed the same today...I have been at this same weight for a year!! Lost 40 lbs. on the Dukan diet...I switched over to LCHF three weeks ago. It has taken my body time to adjust to the high fat! I have been increasing the fat each day and lowering my protein. My carbs are always low. I love the diet though, just need to see some results!!

Well, I would not say meaningless.
You can watch that blood ketone number -- if you don't mind blowing cash on the blood ketone strips. I get some low grade entertainment out of it, so it is worth it to me. Anyway, if you can get it to stay above 0.5 mM consistently when you check it in the morning, then you are "officially" in ketosis. Then your body is probably burning fat. Even if it is only burning your dietary fat, it would still mean that you are becoming adapted to burning fat and some time later your body may start "raiding the pantry" of your own fat stores.
I don't know. Some people find motivation in knowing what their BK level is. You would have to decide whether it helps you or not.

LOL (insert evil laugh)
I got a new scale. After I see how this one behaves, I may be taking the old one out back with a shotgun. Might be time to put er down

But seriously, the old one only measure .5 increments. I got the one that measures body composition so maybe that will be a little motivator.
Not sure how I will like it so I am not gonna destroy the old one just yet

I would love to find a Dr that would help me but I have given up.
I have done alot better on my own than I have when I was under Drs care. I have been thru several and both times I found good Drs they left the practice. I just educated myself as best as I could and go from there.Thank GOD I learned enough to tell them no to Radoiactive Iodine treatment.
All the Drs wanted me to take antidepressants Wish we had some good Drs around here
