Happy happy joy joy!

Congratulations!!!

Goolash - Glad to hear your no dairy experiment is giving you some good results!

I tested my blood ketone levels this morning and measured in at 1.6. I'm thinking next time I will just have a 1/4 cup of ice cream instead of the full serving of a 1/2 cup. I think it should satisfy my sweet tooth and have less impact on my ketone levels.

As for my weight - 132.8 this morning. I actually expected it to be higher. We went out to lunch yesterday and I ordered a corned beef reuben without the bread and dressing. I expected the sodium content to result in a lot of water weight today. So I'm happy with that number. I did about 30 pull-ups yesterday morning with a mini resistance band, and am kind of sore from that today.

I'm going to focus on bringing my calories down this week to the 1400 - 1500 range to see if I can break the 132 mark.

I tried Bulletproof Coffee for the first time this morning! I'll be honest, I thought it would be gross. It was good, and was actually quite soothing on my tummy. I never noticed how much coffee makes my stomach churn until it didn't happen. I blended in some pumpkin pie spice and it was YUMMY.

Exactly.

Last night I was a little low on protein so I tried to make up for it at dinner. Had 6oz of chicken (measured after cooking), 2 boiled eggs and an ounce of cheese on a salad. I had to force myself to eat. I just wasn't hungry. I finally choked back all but a few bites.

So what happens when you eat a lot of protein at once? My heart started pounding a bit after an hour and a half so I took my blood sugar. Was right at 100. Not high but higher than usual for me and i have no idea how high it got before it started going back down. Kind of counterproductive. Lesson learned. Spread protein consumption out during the day.

Kelly
Yeah, getting caught at the end of the day way low on protein sucks.

There are a couple of other ways to deal with it though. If you're usually about right on protein then one down day probably won't really matter much so you could ignore it - just be low for that one day. Alternatively, you could eat part of the protein for dinner and the rest for breakfast and just have a higher protein day the next day because the protein 'window' is a (must be a) rolling window.

Well, that just sounds way too logical. Lol Why didn't I think of that? Thanks! Yeah, that will be plan B in the future.

Don't post here as much as I should, but I'm back on plan! I was strict low-carb for 6 months, then the weight loss stopped, so I kinda slacked off. Now, I'm 10 pounds heavier and starting to feel down again. It stops HERE and NOW!

Here is today's menu:

B: Coffee w/HNH, Stevia and CO. Bacon
L: Pork w/2oz Cheese, Sour Cream, Avocado and Hot Sauce
D: Hard Salami, Cream Cheese and Pickle Spears.

73/22/5

Calories: 1643
Fat: 132.3g
Carbs: 20.3g
Fiber: 6.4g
Protein: 86.4g

How does it look? I should be eating more calories...I think my number is like 1900. I will try 1500-1700 for a week and see where I end up and then make changes from there!

Honestly, and I hate to admit it, I lose easier if I keep the cheese consumption down. I can substitute coconut milk for cream. I just love cheese!

Looking forward to seeing how this works for you!
Ya i can buy GHEE, i havent yet tho, im too lazy to make it in any case.
Failing - ok ok :P
I LOVE CHEESE TOO! But i like being less than 10 million lbs more.

Sooooo happy. Praying to the scale gods that it will still be there tomorrow but even lower. What is the proper offering to the scale? Is it a pint of Ben and Jerry's or a head of broccoli?

I made a delicious ground beef and cheese-y cauliflower dish for dinner last night. It was so good and filling enough that 1 serving was satisfying. It was very similar to Linda Sue's recipe for hamburger broccoli alfredo except I used riced cauliflower, a half cup of sour cream and 4 oz of cream cheese in place of the heavy cream, plus a little chicken broth to thin it out. It kind of reminded me of Hamburger Helper.
Way to go!!

Heh, that very evening I measured 4.9 mM. Felt kind of cruddy. Very difficult to eat. This morning I was back to 1.3, if I recall correctly.

heh

I was eating a heck of a lot of eggs for a few weeks. At least 4 a day and sometimes 6. On the 27th of last month I had my 4 eggs with some bacon and it was so so. On the 2nd of this month I had eggs again and they were not good - didn't sit right. Today I had 3 eggs and some jalapeno spam. Ugh. Not good at all. Even a little nauseous from the eggs.

It is so weird to be afflicted with that egg protein problem. Lots of people experience it though.

We ate spam every so often when I was a kid and I hadn't seen the jalapeno version before so I thought I'd try it. Not very tasty and zero jalapeno flavor that I could tell. But it was the eggs for sure.

When you get that egg problem the eggs taste different while you are eating them. Heck, even when I was cooking them they didn't look good to me.

I tell you what about spam though, it is not the same product from my youth. 40 years ago when you sliced into spam it was like slicing meat. This stuff was more akin to slicing jello. Yuk.

Giddy happy! Ketone strips came in. I'm 2.1, baby! Woohoo! I'll test in the morning for the accurate reading but still happy to see confirmation.

It sure does take a big drop of blood to measure.

I shall celebrate with coconut oil.
