I'm doing a Fat Fast this week so it wouldn't be typical of what I usually eat. I do have pics of my eats on my blog. Happy Texans
I should mention that I had a date with my hubby Saturday night that included beer, boudin balls and crawfish. Every now and then we go on a date.

My fat fast ends Friday.

I'm fairly new to nutritional ketosis. Just been winging it for a couple of weeks but have still been very pleased with the weight loss. March will be when I track everything to make sure I've got my ratios right.

Grass-fed butter is real hit or miss at WM apparently.

Yumm, what time's vittles?

Weighing protein

Do you weigh your meats before or after cooking?

Dasschus, it depends for me. If its a big cut of meat like a roast, I'll weigh after. For chicken breast or steaks, I weigh before.

The food tracker I use gives options for cooked and raw.

(130/2.2)*2.0 = 118 grams protein

You are only about 8 pounds from goal so we'll start your calories off a little lower than otherwise and use 1600 calories for a starting point.

We'll use the 1.5g/kg number for your protein.

88g protein [protein is 4 cals per gram] = 352 calories protein

1600-352 = 1248 calories left.

1248/9 [fat is 9 cals per gram] = 138g fat.

So 88g of protein and 138g of fat. But your carbs calories would be taken from your available fat calories. Lets go with 30g total carbs. Carbs are 4 calories per gram.

88g protein = 352 calories
30g carbs = 120 calories

...which leaves 1128 calories for fat or 125g of fat.

These are all starting point numbers. You may need to adjust up or even down a little.

Okay so this is what typical day is for me 800 calories under 30grams of carbs and 51 fat 71 protein is there a reason that I am not losing anymore I ve been stuck at 137 forever.

Well, 800 calories is not enough food. Have you been eating 800 since the 14th? Or did you follow the numbers I gave you for some period of time?

What is your current weight? Do you have any health conditions? Do you take any Rx meds?

I actually messed up my beef bites. But that was my first attempt. I put too much meat in the skillet at one time and I didn't have the heat up high enough.

But I did that salt thing with the meat so it was tender and tasty anyway

Actually, I did get hungry as heck which is why I had my 'reasonable hour' breakfast. But I cooked up a whole package of the bacon ends and pieces so the smell of that cooking might have had something to do with it. Maybe. Maybe not. I've cooked it like that twice before and it smelled delicious but it didn't make me hungry.

One thing that I have noticed the last few days. Since I have pushed my cals up to about 2400 I am experiencing less appetite suppression. Not 'hungry' per se but not not hungry after several hours if you know what I mean.

I had wondered if I was over eating protein and that was causing the strangely different appetite.

But the morning after my 2.2g/kg day I broke the 200 mark which surprised the stuffing out of me.

I wonder if the calorie level is the key factor? Is it low enough to lose weight (yes) but high enough to forestall the normal devoid of appetite sensation that strict LC produces? If that is the case then why is that so? Does it imply that if you have no appetite at all you are not eating enough so your body is shutting down metabolism-wise?

I had thought that about 2000 calories was the right level for me. But my losses have been more stable in a downward direction since bumping to 2300 and 2400. 9 weigh-ins with 8 down days and 6 of them consecutive down days even if only a small amount. It is a total of 2.9 pounds down since intentionally bumping calories up.

When I was hitting 1900 to 2000 calories I was up/down/same a lot.

My average calories for last week was 2364. This week, so far, has averaged 2414.

If your food logger doesn't list kimchi you'll have to guestimate it. But it is probably a low carb item unless you ate a ton of it.
