In Ketosis for 1 week no weight loss
I've been in Ketosis for over a week (80 mg/dL according to the strips) and the first 2 days I lost 2#s but nothing since. I haven't been working out except for some light cardio so I don't think I'm gaining muscle mass. My clothes are still a little tight as well
. I'm not hungry at all but I do eat regularly and I test for ketones about twice a day. For background I'm 5'5" and I'm currently 148, my goal weight is 125. Any advice? |

At 148 and 5'5, you don't have a lot of weight to lose (I know, it never feels that way!), so your losses will likely be slower. It's only been a week - hang in there! 2 pounds in a week is not the same as no loss
How are your carb, protein, and calorie levels? |

what were you eating before you started this plan? many times people were eating pretty low carb before, even though they didn't think of it that way, and therefore do not see the initial drop people eating a lot of carbs do. good luck.

Being in ketosis doesn't mean you automatically lose weight. Sad but true. Phinney said it in one of JM's podcasts.
Since you are testing and you know you have a consistent blood ketone level look at your macros and tweak them. Are you eating too little calories or too many calories? Either extreme is counter-productive for weight loss. |
