Ketosis strips results? (ketostix)
I apologize ahead of time, I am sure this has been asked already several times
![]() I haven't tested in about a week and I tested today and just noticed that I got a trace result of 0.5, before my tests were coming up negative. What does this mean? Does this mean I am now in ketosis? Should I be going for a darker value on the stick? Or does this matter? I am trying to maintain my weight and stabilize my insulin levels, so I am not sure what the significance of the scale is. Excuse my ignorance, but I still don't have any of the books yet. They are somewhere in transit....one of the pitfalls of where I live. |

No problem asking a question that has had many, many variable answers over time. It seems that the ketostix are far from an accurate measure and there are many variables that add to their inaccuracy. I think the only thing they can possibly tell you is that you were in ketosis at some point in a given day or so. Measuring negative does not necessarily say the opposite. Hope that helps.
