I keep my almonds measured out in 1 oz snack bags. I have cut back on my cheese. maybe I should just keep me a journal and see what helps or hinders. I think it is so cool that we live so near one another. ![]() |

After 2 months of straining and saving my leftover bacon grease, I now have a beautiful pint jar full to the brim. Love cooking with bacon grease.

Not a dumb questions at all Shelley, I keep mine in fridge, it stays soft enough to scoop but can remember when people kept it on the counter or back of stove. Great to flavor veggies, etc. Cook chicken or pork chops in, warm up left over chicken.

Thanks for the responses (HarmsWay and Buffy) on the bacon grease. Will go put it in the fridge.
I wanted to say something that "changed" this morning on my weight lifting. It has been hard for the last 2 weeks...this is week #3. But this morning I was able to increase weights on all the exercises I did. ALL of them! I don't think it's because I am getting used to this, but that I am finally "keto adapted" so that my body is using fat for energy for the first time? Do you think that could be the case? Now if it would just use the fat to drop weight/inches as well, but maybe this is the start?! Woohoo...that would be fabulous! But had to tell you all that it was so obvious to me this morning that I could do more reps and higher weights....and that's not typical (I used to do weights 3 days a week all the time...took the summer off).

PortCop1 your post makes me know that this way of eating is ok. We also eat pork rind waffles, my husband loves them. He doesn't need to lose any weight. But loves them waffles.

I have my london broil all salted down and hopefully getting nice and tender. I told DH about both methods and since I've done steaks with the salt method before he wanted me to go that way. I told him if it doesn't turn out good he should be ready to go out to eat tonight, lol.

I like the way you think Sandy, always have a back up plan
![]() Thanks for checking in Oceana, good to hear from you. Linda, don't be afraid, we might be silly at times, but harmless. Just had a Jay Robb protein shake to up my protein, I have a hard time meeting my minimum most days. Pretty darn good, mixed it with vanilla flavored almond milk, unsweetened, and 2 T HWC. Going to netrition to see what other flavors they carry. Also, I need something easy to carry with me when I am out during mealtime, a shake would fill that void.

Hey All,
I may be quiet for the next couple of days. My father-in-law passed this morning. He was a very good man and we miss him very much already. |
