Morning!
Couple thoughts on the recent posts. I don't think a particular days weight is all related to exactly what or how much you ate the "day" before. It is an ongoing thing with calories, fluids, salt intake, water retention, hormones, etc., etc. I wouldn't say a particular food stalls me just because I might be up the day after I ate it, could be, but maybe you were up because the nuts were salty? That is why it is good to just track your food and your ratios, and then watch for a trend in weight over a period of weeks, it is going up? Down? Staying the same? Red, for you, sometimes I wonder if you should not even be trying to lose weight at this point? You have overcome a very very addictive habit, let your body become accustomed to not smoking, just think about maintaining your weight for a while, maybe you are thinking about losing weight so much that you are consumed with wanting to eat? I have done that, especially on other diets where I would be hungry, the more I tried not to eat, the more I couldn't think of doing anything but eating. Just eat to satisfaction, try not to overthink it and see where it takes you. Once you are months past this quitting smoking, then, concentrate on losing again. Just a thought!!! I had one of my most tempting days yesterday and over simple things. At my son's house, babysitting, I was so tempted to eat the things I was fixing for my grandson. Blueberries, oranges, a yummy mac and cheese casserole his mommy had fixed for him, I don't know why but I really had a hard time staying out of those. Had about 5 blueberries, 2 slices of little cutie orange and a bite of the mac and cheese. Had a 4 hour drive to come home and the thought crossed my mind to just stop at the store, load up on junk and binge all the way home! Haven't had that mindset in 2 months! Scary! But, I looked up the nearest bar b que place on my route, stopped in and got 1/2 lb of "moist" (means fatty) brisket and 1/2 lb of ribs, no sauce of course. Grabbed handfuls of napkins and back on the road I went with a big diet coke. I ate and ate and ate brisket until I had devoured almost that whole half lb, didn't get to the ribs. I also had a 85% cocao bar with me and I had about 2/3 of that. That did the trick, I was ok after that, very full and very full of FAT but I passed that crisis. Still in ketosis this morning, whew and ready to eat right today. Close call. Pigging out during a road trip has always been a favorite pasttime of mine, In THE PAST!!!! I must remember, IN THE PAST!!!

Deborah, I have 6 grandkids. The 2 oldest live several states away and I didn't realize how much, or did realize, but could not avoid missing out on so much of their childhood. Then I had one that lives right in my neighborhood and I got to help raise him and what a joy that was, he is now 12. Then along came 2 more, they are now 4 and 2 and they live fairly close and I am able to spend a lot of time with them and again, am developing that bond. So, when this little guy came along, my only son's first child, I was determined to see him as often as I can and become close to him. An added bonus, my DDIL is a hair color specialist and so we work it out that I come to visit and come at a time they have something special going on where they need a sitter, my hair needs to be cut/colored and it is just a win/win/win for all of us. And, little Oliver and I are just loving the time we get to spend together and I know it makes my son so happy. I do wish they were closer though, that drive to thier house and back does get long.

Oliver is such a cute name! You sound very close to your own children, which is a true testament to what a good mom you were and still are!

Hey Becky,
I got to check out the Hf Stofe today. It was really nice and had alot of stuff. It smelled so good in there. My husband and I stayed a good while and browsed around talking to the lady working. Thanks for letting me know about the place. |

Becky, did you have 5.5 oz of chicken at both lunch, then again at dinner? At first I thought just 5.5 oz for the day and wondered how you came up with 51 grams of protein. I seem to have to work to keep my protein high enough, just not much appetite

At a grocery store called Giant (I think it might be called Martin's in some places). It's Oscar-Mayer. They make uncured nitrite-free bacon now.

Good job Buffy!!! I read your post to my DH I was so impressed with it! And I'm so glad you had a great time with little Oliver. I never knew that you'd lost both your parents when you were a little girl. I'm so sorry. That must've been so very hard for you and your siblings. {{{ }}} to you, my friend.

I am sure you are right Becky but my program only shows that at about 28 grams protein, that is why I was confused. Wondering if I am getting too little of protein figures due to the way my program figures it

Becky, so glad I noticed that. I think the program I have been using is off on protein, and who knows what else. I entered the meat I ate today in ****** and it came in much higher than my protram. Think I will use ****** for a few days and see if I like it. Thanks for taking time to answer my questions!!

Online trackers are about the same and one of them has lots of name brand items. If I didn't already have so much time and entries invested in ****** I'd totally change to one of them.

Good morning everyone!
Day 2 of no weigh-in and yesterday was another high calorie day. Lots of carbs from almonds and I made cream cheese clouds so some carbs from the splenda in them. Gonna try to get back on track today. It is weird but I feel like I did after about the 2nd or 3rd day when I quit smoking. Right about then you start clearing your throat and coughing a bit, or at least I did. 24.5 days since I quit. It seems a lot less and a lot more at the same time. I'm not going to have almonds around here any more. I just can't stop myself from over doing it on them even if I still smoked. |
