Wow you would think they would know that coke is FULL of sugar!! I'm sorry, I feel like some places missinform on their lables and even if you ask them.
I ate beef jerkey with sugar yesterday and it didn't effect me so hopefully you'll stay in ketosis!

You just cannot trust people. That is so upsetting. I am so sorry.
Ya know i bet you will be fine. We can taste a tiny bit of sugar cause we haven't had it in a while. There probably isn't much sugar left by the time they cook it.

Especially younger people who have never had to watch what they eat normally don't know or think about stuff like that, or, don't think it's important. I order diet cokes, then when they bring it I will say, now, that is diet, right? B/c I am diabetic and it could really make me sick. Sometimes it is almost funny to see the look on their face and more than once, I have had them take it back to either check, or make sure they were giving me diet. My kids who all used to wait tables during college said waiter's were known to just grab whatever was handiest, say coffee versus decaf. They didn't really realize the difference it might make to some people.

I bought some kinda packaged ribeyes a while back. I thawed one out to cook it and it stank so bad. I looked on the package and it had corn syrup in it. only 1 carb but the sweet smell liked to have made me puke. My husband tasted it and said it was fine but the thought of eating it made me wanna.
I think where we haven't had sweets it changes out taste buds.
It would take 30 to 50 carbs or more to knock you outta ketosis (I think, is that right Red?) and I bet you got no where near that.
An 8 oz glass of coke has 27 carbs.

I know, This used to be a nice place to live and people were really friendly and nice. It just isn't like that anymore. I get really put off with some of the behavior and attitudes I have seen around here.

Right, Phinney said 50g total carbs seems to be the line for going in or out of ketosis in general and some people may be more sensitive.

I don't think that coke marinated steak will knock you out of ketosis. There shouldn't have been much carbs left after cooking and all

Yep. You gotta tell the waiter/waitress that you are allergic and you'll get sick and then hope that they care enough and hope for the best.

Hi to everyone.
Cheryl, I missed you all last evening! Been a rough few days at work, pulled two 18 hour days back-to-back and that is quite enough for one week! Don't worry about that bump, go for the "average" and going down. My scale doesn't measure fat, I wonder how reliable they are? Corn Syrup on ribeyes? who does this?? Butter on ribeyes, YES!
Darin, isn't that so much fun when you get a book you can't put down? Except when the morning comes?? Glad you are feeling better. Allergies are crazy.
Nicki, I have done the bounce thing so long - it's crazy. But you have a great start...give your body time for the adjustments.
Becky, I think I need to increase foods now too! I get busy and forget to stop and eat. Add or increase Vit D3 right now, in the morning, and you should see a pick up during the fall/winter months. I take around 5000 IU every morning right now, until I am able to get back out in the sun! I have stopped eating ribs out for this reason - they use sugar/molasses/something wrong! Maybe the fat/protein will stall out the insulin reaction. It's just one day.
Wow Buffy, that is so great. It's amazing to see your numbers charted out. Good news on the UTIs too! Sounds like a keeper doc.
Hi Melisa, looks like a great day. I need to find some hard salami...been a while.
Shelley, all the meatloaf talk has now put that on the weekend menu! We love it. I also make meatballs sometimes, they get crunchier and DH likes that. I mix half ground pork as well.
Oceana, you are on a roll! Keep up whatever is working! I have four of those MIO flavoring. I use just enough to make it tasty, plain water is not my favorite. I also use it in my green teas, which must have something or it taste like, well, drinking a leaf! Shelley, I haven't heard of anything awful about it, and I figure we could take out most of these "substitues" if we looked hard enough. Moderation.

yes. 8 oz cream cheese. do you ever eat cream cheese? high in fat, low in protein. if you slightly soften it and put a splenda in there, then stir, it is better than ice cream.
