So sorry Your trusted family member behaved this way. So people just do not have any tact. Were she really concerned for you surly could have handled alot better.
I feel like Lc is a way of eating that just make us feel better.
Some people put others down to feel better about themselves.
Just let her go in one ear and out the other. Arm yourself by reading all the great books that Red recommends if it will help you.

Mostly I just want you to know you are not alone.

So true, over my many years, I have learned that mean people, or people who are being mean, nasty, critical, etc., etc., etc., are actually very unhappy people who for some reason, think that by projecting that on to others, they will bring themselves up or make themselves feel better. I can't imagine it works because for one thing, it really makes people dislike them and then where are they? Even more miserable and unhappy. I like to do this, whenever I am somewhere and see someone with a miserable scowl on their face, or looking really grumpy, I try to either catch their eye and give them a nice lingering smile, or say something really pleasant to them. It is funny, it will catch them by surprise, coming from a stranger, but most of the time, they will recover from the surprise and either smile or say something nice in return. I go on my way, hoping I have made someone's day a little nicer.

Thanks everyone!
And Red, that's exactly right! I know they're her issues and yet I still let it get to me, so much that it was the first thing I thought about when I woke up. I've witnessed her do it to many people and it's usually worse when she drinks.
It might be best just to separate myself from such negativity!

It helped getting it off my chest

I can tell you for sure that stuff went in one ear and out the other for your boyfriend. He knew it wasn't about you.

I think you're right. He knew how far off she was that he didn't even bring it up at all after. (I didn't show I was hurt by it)

In my defense tho, I was laying on the couch almost asleep and she woke me up to tell me all that nonsense. And I didn't have to say a word, she just kept talking. Hah some people are so "silly"

Hi everyone!

Cheryl, took me a while to not think about chewing gum, but that day will come. No rain today, maybe tomorrow. This heat is ridiculous, 84 today, at some point it really needs to cool down! I hate when something is on fire, smoke in the air is nasty!

Red, one of my "jobs"...one I can't get rid of, from years back, is working problem software build issues, when something goes really wrong. The "geek in hiding" comes out big time then. I love it, and there are so few of us that were involved with our inital computer build, that from time to time we get those "tickets" to solve. I have my 3 monitors linked to one "box", one card for all; then at work the laptop adds on with docking....I can sort one out to be independent, and love a challenge. My files are huge....I have 2TB now. But I don't run all applications at the same time; but usually have at least 6 open at once. My home units log in VPN wireless, but I can take one down to stand alone, off network. One has two OS. Think I will play around with these and see what options they add. I email myself all the time, files, articles, bookmarks, love that! I like the PinguyOS desktop, very sleek and not full of Windows icons!! Whatever day you are on "smoke free" is great, I know you can get to 30 and beyond!

Welcome Kelly! So glad to have you join us!

Wow Oceana! 1.4 in one day...that is great. Maybe I can solve my tummy issues if I go to eggs and steak? Change it up a bit.
Words do hurt, I understand your pain. This is her problem, and she must be one miserable lady. I had someone who did this to me for years....then I decide to not listen anymore. I didn't really communicate with her for a long time (college and 20s), and finally I told her I would not listen to anything she said if she talked about my body, my eating, or critized me. She stopped when I enforced my "policy"! All your pics show a beautiful person, we see you!

Buffy, that's a neat thing to do! You never know when that smile may change someone forever.

Hi Gord, boo-hiss on night shift, that will mess with your weight for sure! Good on BP and BS!

Becky, those almonds get me all the time! Now I count out 12 and put the package up, go to another room to enjoy one at a time! I keep all but a small amount in the freezer too! A good offense for me. Tomorrow is another day!

Smoky, Ugh sorry you have to work the night shift. Doesn't sound too appealing so hopefully it's not for long!

Portcop, how long do you get to spend in Puerto Rico? That sounds AMAZING!!

SG, thanks for the kind words. I cried it all out today. Mainly over the fact that I know everything she said to me was things she's struggled with her whole life. I just need to find away to let her know it's not too late to get support. Now instead of feeling betrayed and offended, I'm gonna take it as a cry for help so I'll do my best to help her.
Oh and my tummy feels much better. Today was my second egg and meat day although I did have a small lettuce leaf around my burger. I think keeping it really simple for a little while will pay off! I already have the ketosis taste in my mouth.

Good night everyone and sleep well! You lose better with good rest

Wow Becky, you do have some traveling coming up!!!

My weight bounced up a little higher today and I was puzzled but then remembered something I had done yesterday. I made a fudge with swerve, cocoa, butter, and HWC and had been having a small piece once a day. Well, I kind of fell face first in it yesterday and had probably 6 pieces. I can't for the life of me find out how many calories are in a bigger measurement of that stuff, of course the teaspoon is 0 calories. Andyway, although BS was fine, this morning my BK was lower and my BS was higher. Good lesson learned, that is not to be eaten mindlessly!

Can I ask a question? What's the difference between this thread and the Nutritional Ketosis thread? Kind of new here and just curious?

Becky, do you use your magic bullet a lot? I don't have one but often has such good deals and coupons at Kohl's that I have thought of getting one.

We approach NK a little differently than the other thread. We pay close attention to macro ratios after establishing proper protein grams. Calories are not the first thing we tweak. Fat is a very important macro. Carbs are limited but optional not required. Everyone has to sign a pledge that Patrick O'Brian wrote the best sea novels in the whole wide world with the Aubrey-Marturin series.
