weigh-in 1052012
Weigh-in this morning ... ... ... 188.1!!
Hooray! New low! ![]() It is interesting since I have intentionally increased my calories by 200 or so the last couple of days along with protein. |

Salt Update!
Yesterday was day 2 of a concerted effort to get 5 grams of sodium into my body. No cramps at all yesterday and my sleep wasn't interrupted until almost the time I was about to get up by a pretty minor cramp in my foot. Enough to wake me up but not enough to leap out of bed over. I have a theory about that too. I quit drinking water in any quantity by 7pm or so. That means I am slowly becoming dehydrated as the night progresses through normal, for me, kidney function and the typical moisture loss everyone experiences overnight. I think I am going to measure out 2 oz of water and set it by the bed to drink sometime in the middle of the night. I'd like to get an idea of how little water I can drink overnight to keep from being dehydrated enough to cause cramps while not affecting the morning weigh-in. |

It is sort of a catch 22 on NK. Typically I stay so satiated from all that good fat that I am just not hungry. I was reading A&S of LC Living and I was very surprised to read that Phinney believes 35kCal/kg is a maintenance level for calories. Granted he is a fitness nut and that number reflects a fairly active person but I think he grossly underestimates just how lazy some of us are about fitness lol. But his 'unfit fat guy' activity level guestimate is 30kCal/kg. For me the upper number is 2864 and the lower number is 2455. 35kCal/kg Fit Wt (b2/2.2)*35 30kCal/kg UnFit (b2/2.2)*30 That does explain his higher, relatively speaking, protein recommendation. But I think his fitness view on the world slants him toward a bit higher protein intake daily. I'm curious if I can still see a downward trend at 2000 cals a day maintaining the type of macros I've had for the last several weeks. |

Morning Gang. I have just skimmed through the messages as I was gone until fairly late last night. I think Kerry and Red have new lows for us to Celebrate!!! WTG
![]() ![]() Today is weigh in today and the timing is bad for me this time. Yesterday, to celebrate my birthday, I went to the casino and had fun, and had taken my first and probably last quest bar to eat in case I didn't eat dinner. So, I ate that, not impressed, and then decided that I would go to the buffet and have the crab legs and boiled shimp. Ate quite a bit of that but did not allow myself anything else, no pie which is a record in itself, for me to deny myself pie on my birthday is a major achievement. But, when I got home at 11:00, still in reward myself mode, for my birthday , I had a serving of pumpkin bake with plenty of whipped cream. And, a fat bomb. Didn't log and although I didn't eat one thing that was not LC I am sure I not only ate too much protein, plenty of calories and of course ate so late. Well, you can see what it did to my weekly weigh in! I had expected to stay the same or show a slight gain this week as I did not see any downward movement on the scale all week, but have to say, was dismayed to look down to see 199.4. But, BF was slightly lower than last week, waist measurement the same and thigh was 1/2 " smaller. Hoping it was sodium, I went and put on my wedding room, yep, very tight. So, here's hoping that all leaves me plus enough to see a new low by next Monday. Birthday good, eating not bad, but not exactly stellar either.

Now, for some good news, ketone reading was 2.1, it is rarely 2 or above, but BS was 104, it is rarely in the 100's these days.

I know, the fact that my rings, which had gotten lose, were tight really was a good feeling. The good thing is that now, I can watch my scale move downward this week

So, I got around to entering what I ate yesterday and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Calories a little over 1600, so a little high. Protein and carbs higher than my norm and fat a little lower, but wasn't a day I would say is bad. I felt better knowing this.
Pretty sure I am getting another UTI, will be the first time since starting this WOE, so I am a little surprised, but just early smptoms so far, will be ready to go to the Dr. if they start getting worse. |

Magnesium, hmmmm? Ok, I started out on 50mg, didn't realize it was that low when I bought the bottle. Took for about a week until I got a bottle of 500mg and switched to that. Lately my stomach has hurt most of the time, not upset or running to the bathroom type of distress, just a hurting in my stomach, like I would think an ulcer might feel. Ginger tabs help but only temporarily. Yesterday I mulled over what it could be and the only new thing was the taking of the 500mg mag. So, didn't take it last night and so far today it is better, still feels kind of raw inside but no hurting like it has been. Will give it another day or two to determine if that is what it was. Then, if so, will go back and start again at 50mg and work up very very slowly. I hope that is what it is, otherwise I am really stumped and can't think what else it might be. I just know that last week I did not feel good all week long.

What is the type? Oxide or one of the other forms? Whatever form it is may be the problem rather than the magnesium itself so switching to an alternate form may solve the problem. |

It is citrate, from what I have read, that is what I should be taking for best absorption. I think I just maybe went too high too fast. Or, if tummy hurts later today, then I will have to continue the hunt. But, so far, so good today.
Red, will you please, please, pretty please, go to the DMV and renew my DL for me? I of course have put it off until now I am past the deadline but the horror stories of that place and the long, long, long waits just make me want to puke. I think if asked why I didn't come in and get it done in time, I will just tell them that I had hoped I would die before I had to come to this awful place. Our office seems to have to pass an extreme rudeness test to work there. They are NASTY! |

I might rob a 7-11 for ya but going to the DMV is a bridge too far ![]() Google around to see if there is an alternate location with better customer service. I know there are huge differences in offices in the Fort Worth area and the one out in Decatur has very pleasant folks working there. You should be fine at any office in your county. |

I am just going to put these mag pills aside and get the smaller doses, then gradually work my way up. Still no stomach ache today so pretty sure that was the cause.

BC I have trouble getting to 59 grams of protein a day and maybe I really don't need that much??? And, haven't measured my height in a long time, I wonder if I am still really 5'6".
