Bella, thank you for asking! I used what I had on hand:
1/2 cube (salted) butter (room temp) 1/2 block cream cheese (room temp) Several TBS Splenda lemon juice - to taste lemon zest - 1/4 tsp-ish Using a mixer, blend first three ingred, then mix in juice and zest. wow that lemon fat bomb sounds wonderful!!
Well, my low pro experiment went down the drain.. I had super high ketisis reading. 4.4, but felt horrible and had such low energy I just wanted to sleep. today I rebounded by focusing on more protein, still in range - 90g and backing off the fat a little. I am feeling better already. lunch was tricky today- ate at a restaurant. ordered nicoise salad no dressing and at the tuna, avocado and a few green beans. lots of s&p dinner will be skillet chicken w evoo, and some parmesan on top. dessert is sf jello and a little sunflower butter. my weight went up despite the high ketones. proves to me that just because I am in ketosis doesn't mean I am burning stored fat, just burning fat and that can be from my food- not from my butt! workouts mellow the last few days, not pushing it, and keeping my heart rate in the "green zone" - for me at 39 means around 135 bpm happy Monday!

HWC = Heavy whipping cream
Fat bombs are little concoctions of coconut oil, cream and various other ingredients. If you do a google search they come up, and there are different recipes on this site also |

D: 4oz chicken thigh chopped and mixed w/2T homemade mayo (olive and coconut oil); sliced cucumber S: 2 eggs scrambled w/1 zucchini & 1 roma tomato in coconut oil topped w/pesto and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese It's not a lot of food, but I am coming off a stomach bug so it's what I figure I can eat. I may have a hard boiled egg topped w/pesto or mayo some time during the day to up that a bit. 1269 cals 119g fat 51g protein 23g carbs 4g fiber

Yesterday (started a Fat Fast):
Coffee, HWC, Splenda, sausage, cheddar Pork rinds, cream cheese, sliced deli corned beef, horseradish Pork ribs w/ mayo, caul, butter Vit c, d, e, calcium, flax seed, BC & allergy pills. Water all day. 1089 cals, 76% fat, 20% pro, 4% carbs. Down .6 pound this AM. Tracking food, etc., may seem obsessive to outsiders, but I learned last week, if I don't, it results in a gain. |

been reading a lot about this so am giving it a go

Hey all, I have been looking at your menus here and I see a lot of dairy. My question is, is there anyone here that can't eat dairy (b/c of allergy)? And, do you guys have elimination problems from eating so much dairy? I stopped eating cheese a while back b/c it's one of those foods that I have a hard time stopping- so I just don't eat it. However, it is a high fat food, and I see that it's an easy food to up the fat content. Also, do you guys focus on dairy from grass feed beef? Thanks!

K, here is my first day of attempting NK:
I start the day w/1T of olive oil (for digestion- and yes, it works!) 31/2 oz of celery w/ 1.5 oz cream chz 2 fried eggs, 2 oz blk olives 1 oz pecans 5oz green beans cooked in 1T CO 3.6 oz salmon 1T PB 3 oz of HWC throughout the day in coffee 1404 cal 125.5 fat 28 total carb (17 for net) 51.8 for protein- aiming for 45g knowing I'll likely go over a bit percentages are at 78% fat, 8% carb, 15% protein....does it look like I'm on the right track? any areas that could use some work? I'm 5'2, 34 yrs old, and weigh 144 |
