Yup they do look good

How was your Outback meal? I never have had their fish. Their chops are excellent! And their veggies too.

Yummy! Their salmon and mahi mahi are very good. And of course, I do like the steak. It's such a better experience now that I don't have to say, "Hold the butter", on everything!

Hi all. I'm seeing a lot of the same people here from the NK thread. I'm wondering how this plan is different from the NK? Do you not use the meters to measure blood glucose and blood ketones? Just wondering Thx!

I don't use the meters can't afford them.i think if you are under 20 grams of carb and keep protein mod.and fat high you will be in nk,,,just my thoughts and it works for me.

Thanks Portcop. I was/am doing the NK and was very successful losing 10 lbs in 10 days and then I made CO/chocolate bark, cream cheese clouds, almond butter balls etc. Throw that in with being unorganized and not having my food available. I've gotten off track. I'm working my way back again.

Mostly a philosophical difference

You don't have to have the meter thing in either thread. It is just a useful tool for information. I can't stand the finger pricking aspect of it so I don't use them. Although, I have to admit, I am very curious sometimes about my blood sugar readings. Will that curiosity overcome the dread of the device? heh maybe not.

Hey Darin. I do have the Blood glucose meter but have not invested in the Ketone meter. It is interesting to learn glucose levels after certain food intakes etc. Plus, I purchased my meter at CVS with a 100% rebate. Cool. Have a great HIGH FAT day

weigh-in 09292012

Weigh-in this morning ... 195.6!

I bounced a little. I tell you what, I was really considering sleeping in this morning because I was certain that I'd see 194.x if I slept in several hours. But I like getting up early. I usually get up between 4:30 and 5. So peaceful and quiet

I grow pale and dizzy at the thought of shots so the meter makes me mighty skittish lol.

Those ketone strips or whatever are expensive, no?

The cats were secretely trying to get you up early to enjoy the good news of your loss and if they got some nice food on the side then all the better

Hey Susan!

Good morning Portcop and Darin! Have a great day. Darin, I love the quiet and peaceful mornings as well! I was up at 5 am. Yes, I'm going to pass on the Ketone meter, those strips are very expensive. I think we all know if we are in ketosis. Plus, I'm not sold on the glucose meter either. I took 3 consecutive readings (3 pokes!) and had three different readings all within 30 pts of each other which is quite a large range.

See you all later. I've got to run. Be back tonight. I'm getting back in and will not break my NK this time. Its amazing how I was feeling.

It isn't so important to get protein in during the mornings but you were low on protein yesterday. So eating some this morning will still have the consumption within the rolling 24 hour window. Does that make sense?

A couple of ounces of cooked bacon is probably all you need Port. No need to eat the eggs too.
