So far my stats-
fat-66.9
carb-8
pro-23.5
cal-739

My weight has not moved in a few days, so I am going to try and lower my cals to under 1700. The 2000+ days I feel have stalled me.
I rely a lot on dairy to get my fat percentages up--cream cheese, recipes using HWC, butter, sour cream ... Apart from avocados and olives and generous amounts of salad dressing made with olive oil, it's hard for me to think of what to eat that's high fat without too much protein, outside of highfat dairy. And I'm cooking everything from scratch, since I only trust what I cook myself to have the ratios of fat, protein, and carbs I'm looking for (which is around the 80/15/5 mark, though I'm often getting my fat percentages in the 70s). I'm also limiting my calories to 1200-1300 calories a day, which means I eat very small portions--thank goodness fat is so satiating, because I sure don't have food volume on my side to fill up this way.

Port, I think it's a great food addition. I was telling christina, that over the past few days I have not been adding it to my coffee, and have not been as full, nor have I been losing like before.

Sven, how is the weight loss going with the caloric intake you have?

Congrats on being a BC survivor! Yes, you really have a reason, as we all do, to get your health in check. My liver readings on my blood tests results are always high, and one reason could be fatty liver, but I don't know how they determine that for sure, how did you find out that was what you had? I guess mine aren't in the danger range yet b/c the doctor just keeps saying we will watch them.

Good luck, hang in there with us and may we all succeed at this!!!

Another Loss

I am overjoyed. I was kind of going out on a limb to make the fat bombs after dinner, but the percents said I needed more fat. Today I am down 1.2 # and no exercise! It seems those % work. I had 2 cups of chicken broth yesterday, also. I'm doing 80/5/15.

Buffy, That is the exact thing my doc kept saying. Well, with my diagnosis I put my foot down and demanded more testing (I was also haiving pain). I had an ultrascan, then a CT. Yup fatty liver.

Super good!

The only exception I'd make is if you are one of the unfortunate few that are allergic to it. Or, as I've seen in a few posts in other threads, it makes you hungry. Then I guess real butter is the alternative.

Food Log

Alright. I was lazy again last night. Here is my food log and graph for the 18th and my numbers.

Calories: 2,075

Fat: 188
Pro: 72
Car: 37

80/14/7

The 'Pumpkin Shake Basic' is the custom item I created for the log using this recipe:

http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...l#post10989710

I labeled it with 'basic' so I'd know this is the plain jane pre-tweaked version.

weigh-in 09192012

Weigh-in this morning... 198.4

So I am still up just a hair from day before yesterday but down from yesterday and still in onderland which I remain a tad shell shocked about.

That is 5.2 pounds over 9 days - an average of about half a pound a day. Everyday at least 80% Fat.

Yesterday I lined the hallway with scales so I could weigh myself going to and coming from the bathroom. As a germaphobe I find it too disturbing to know the mean weight of my bodily functions at any given time of the day so I am removing them. Besides, they were a trip hazard at night.

Morning All, Well my tweaking is working! I am down 1.2 lbs this am. So my percentages combined with keeping my cals at 1700 is a win win for me. I also slept better last night with this ratio. The other thing, fatty liver causes your body temp to rise. I was always so hot/sweaty. I am finding that keeping this ratio, I am only having 1-2 flashes a day and maybe 1 at night. From what I understand about reversing the FL this is a good sign I am doing it "naturally" without the nasty drug my GP prescribed and my onco said do not take! I am also gaining more energy and able to walk farther and farther, which is amazing given the past year I have had!

Onward and Upward!!

Morning!

If anyone needs some scales, do not buy them, sounds like Red has plenty and he probably would let you borrow one

Ebeads, . Please post here with us, we would love to hear more about your WOE, I notice it looks like you are doing pretty low calorie, how are you doing with that? Me no want to be hungry!! As my little granddaughter would say

Congrats on the losses this morning and the maintaining and most of all, following our plans. I am noticing that day to day, the scale bounces up and down, as it does on any WOE. Downward trend friends, that is what we are looking for, be it slow, or for the truly blessed, fast.

Carmi, I love the fat bombs, usually save them for my treat in the evenings, along with my diet root beer float and I don't feel like I am on a diet at all.

Thumbs up on the CO but I guess I am dense, I didn't get the "should we use it sparkling"?

I just know I am barely using moisturizer on my skin now and that in itself is sooo rewarding.

Thanks for asking, Bikerchick. I finally bought a scale (I'd been using just clothes and measurements before), and I learned last night that I've lost 5 pounds since August 28.

That is a huge improvement over losing only 4 pounds between May 28 and August 28 (about a pound/month ), at the same level of calories and never going off plan. So limiting my protein to 50 gram/day or so, along with limiting carbs to under 30 and limiting calories to 1200 or so, seems to be key for me. I imagine that many people would lose more than me at that calorie/carb/protein level, but I'm a slooow loser who is at least losing faster than before with this approach.

2 pounds is great!

Just to put that into perspective, on the get fat diet that everyone gets fat on but is promoted as the way to lose weight, the Standard American Diet with calorie restrictions, you'd have to have a calorie deficit of about 1,000 calories a day to achieve that.

Think about that. According to the BMR calculator, your maintenance level is 1,800 calories. That means to lose the 2 pounds you just lost you would have to eat less than 800 calories a day!! You'd be starving all day long and at that calorie level your metabolism would slow way down and you probably wouldn't loose the weight at all.

I think she means as a chaser to a shot of whiskey. I cannot approve its use in that manner.

That is a great tip!

For really dry hands slather some on and put some of those disposable plastic gloves on for several hours. You can do it right before bed and take them off in the morning.

That sounds like a great idea Bikerchick, but I have also noticed that even the skin on my feet is not as dry, win/win/win.

I was just looking at the BMR calculator for me.

It shows about 2150 for maintenance and that is about what I am eating right now and losing.

I think I am going to try to get into the 1800s for a few days. The calculator says 1745 is 'fat loss' so I'd still be above what they say is needed for 1 pound a week and I know I'll do better than that all things being equal.

The tricky thing is getting in enough protein.
