I do not.

I'm a complete scardy cat about needles and all things similar to needles.

If I had to do that to get skinny I would seriously consider staying big boned.

If you don't mind using it and the cost isn't a problem then it can be a great tool to tweak your woe. Since you will know without a doubt that you are or are not in ketosis you can act accordingly.

If you don't have one then you have to rely on the scale and measurements.

But you don't have to have one to succeed.

BUT!!!

If you really are hungry ... eat!! Just don't eat carby stuff. It adds up quick so even veggies are a no-no if you are just snacking to satiate random hunger.

Eat fat. Even if it pushes your calories up a bit. For heaven's sake don't snack on lean protein. Especially if you are consistently eating too much protein.

Boiled Eggs are a great snack. They are sort of a protein-ish snack but they are almost half fat too so they are very satisfying. Fried, boiled, raw in a shake of some sort.

Fat bombs are good too.

How many calories are you currently eating that you are still hungry?

Something to keep in mind, Bernsy, is that when you start out your body is trying to adjust to the new source of energy. It can be a rocky start. Don't worry too much about calories. I mean, you don't want to eat everything in sight but going a bit high on calories is perfectly fine during the transition from carbs as an energy source.
Good ideas and one I just read last night from someone else on these boards. If she is trying to eat to satisfy hunger and doesn't want/need more protein, she will just eat the yolks of eggs, that is where all the fat is and heck, I like the yolks better anyway. Think deviled eggs, eat the filling, give the dog the egg white, he will like you but would love you even more if you gave him the whole thing.

Well!!!Red!!i must now move to Texas...so I can get over this moodieeeee??it seems to be a little better now..but for about 3 hours I could have ate a hourse.so I ate pork rinds.1 oz cheese. Did not help so I ate 2 fat bombs and a cup of coffee with hwc and co.that helped yes yes...the only thing I've changed is I started using lig.stevia unstead of the packs..it takes a lot more...so maybe that was it..have not had this happen in a while.i was on Atkins no more than 20 carbs.mod fat...but been on this now for two weeks.

Well, I doubt that the liquid stevia is the culprit.

Probably it is more about the fairly drastic change in your macros.

Or, it could be something completely unrelated to your woe and just happenstance that it occurred during this time period.

If you have any really close friends handy you could run it by one of them. They may see something that we are missing.

You can bring it up when they ask why you are packing up and why you scrawled 'GTT' on your front door

*GTT means 'Gone To Texas' and it was what folks carved into their front doors during the great exodus to Texas about a hundred years ago for those unlucky few who didn't take Texas History in grade school

No, DANDR was written in '81 and revised in 2002. Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.

The 'New Atkins for a New You' was published in 2010. It used Atkins name but Westman and Phinney were the authors.

Well that is too bad about the book. I'm glad you were able to return it. I'll have to look into returning books on the Kindle. I'm not sure I knew about that =)

The wheat doesn't surprise me at all. Healthy whole grains is so enmeshed in the nutrition meme.

Good grief, I am having a hard time getting my fat in today. Here are my numbers
Cal-1646
fat-134.7
carb-21
pro-91.2

I had some cottage cheese, and that put me way up on protein, and not enough fat. Maybe I will have a SF jello with some HWC?

I am with you there, just can't do wheat at all. When I do splurge on a bread item, it's SD toast.
