Can you gain alot of muscle on LC?

Almost every resource I find says that it is very difficult to gain significant muscle while on LC. To support their claims, they state that insulin is a very important anabolic hormone and just as it shuttles sugar into the cells, it also shuttles the buildling blocks of muscles (amino acids) as well. With the consistently lower insulin levels, muscle building just doesn't happen very quickly.

Now, none of these sources are from the LC camp, but they were not against LC either. It is just the "broscience" that athletes and bodybuilders perpetuate -- it may be right or wrong.

Now, are there credible LC sources that agree or refute this thought? I would love to hear more.

Thanks!

I had to add about 30g of carbs to not bonk out during my P90X routine. I would do 15g about 30 min before the workout and 15g 30 min after.

As a teenager I started lifting weights when I weighed about 200lbs, All I could do was 50lbs with the bench press and overhead press. About the same time I went on a low carb diet. After 6 to 8 months I was down to 140lbs and could bench press 165lbs for 20 reps and press 165 for a couple of reps. By the way this was back in 1967 before anyone
had heard of Atkins. So it can be done it's just harder.
