Yes Jami, the concert would have happened. Just I've not been home most of the weekend and didn't get enough time last night to post pics. Was trying to get the video to work and then upload it too. Will try again tonight, but definitely will post pics.

Managed a HIIT workout this morning although my conditioning has almost completely gone now!! Only got 10 reps out before I'd had it, but I guess the intensity is the same so the endurance should come back quickly.

Weights tomorrow, probably upper body as I have bellydance class in the evening - don't want to overdo it .

Ozgirl, you look so beautiful! Love the costume and you look amazing in it!

Jamie, we're actually working on lightning up my hair a bit, lol. It went almost black in May. This photo shows it a bit lighter, with some highlights. We'll lighten it up a bit more when I go in July, but I don't want to go any lighter than a dark blonde.

Thanks Ileen, Rachel, and Jami. Yes the scale is not the whole picture but it is nice. Now it is good to just focus on weight training and getting toner. I have added more weight to my hack squats, incline chest press, and back rows. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the kind of stuff I am focusing on now.

Good Morning everyone! I am happy to report that I was able to get in a LBWo this morning! I still have discomfort, BUT, NO MORE PAIN MEDS!! My workout was.. meh, nothing to brag about. For some reason I had next to Nill energy, but I pushed through and faked it.. LOL

Oz~ Love your outfit! YOU made that!! You are talented! And you look BEAUTIFUL! Im sure you were the prettiest belly dancer there!! Great job on getting that HIIT done! This is my plan for tomorrow morning.

Hi Purrgirl!
Hi Ileen!

Rachel, Almost black! That would have been neat to see! I wish I would get more creative with my hair. I just buy the perfect 10 clairol hair color from Kmart.. Sometimes I get a little crazy and do light brown but most of the time I go medium brown. LOL

Afuents~ Love you new avi pic! You look smokin"!! Very nice! I need a new swim suit! I bought one from VS online and it just seemed so cheap, didn't fit right, and the color wasn't right.
Great job for getting your weights heavier! I LOVE seeing strength gains! For me is hard because I use DB.. that means I can only go up in 5lb increments. Laura told me about these magnetic weight things you can get to stick on the DB. I might thy them..

Ooo ooo One more thing!
I took measurements this morning. I am down 1 whole pound from the gain from the pain meds. still up from my low, but its getting there. and My legs are actually measuring 21.5 inches!! I have never been smaller than 22 inches.. This is monumental for me!!
Waist is still about 25.5, that one never will shrink more than that. BUT, being a pear I have always looked lean up on top.

Hi everyone! Still feeling better!! Thank goodness! Im so happy all that is over, and I can continue on with my life. Who know that tooth pain would effect me so much.
I am trying to decide on what to do today for the gym. I am leaning towards cardio, like a HIIT or something. My hams are a little sore from my lbwo yesterday. I felt like I have lost so much endurance. But, I know it'll all come back soon.

Jami,

I'm glad you are feeling better.

I recently decided to try to do some "treadmill work" after one of my weight workouts. I would call it HIIT, but my attempt lacked both intensity and intervals.

Anyway, I looked like a fool on the treadmill. I about fell off trying to speed it up to run then slow it down fast enough to walk. Maybe I should have looked at the treadmill more carefully, because maybe there are buttons to program speeds or something - but that darn down arrow didn't respond fast enough when I was ready to walk. Good thing it was fairly late in the evening - I only had to embarrass myself in front of a couple women.

I hope everybody else is doing well today.

Hi Matt! It takes a few attempts to get the HIIT thing down. LOL Today I did HIIT as well. What I did is keep the the speed at 10mph, so I would sprint all out for 30 seconds, then stand on the side rails for 30 seconds for the rest period. Not sure if this is what everyone does, but, by the time I mess with slowing down the speed, and then speeding it back up again, its already time to sprint again. I just think its easier to do it this way. It does bring a lot of looks. Most people at my gym job at one speed, or just walk. Then there's me stomping and sprinting, then standing. Someone asked me "Why dont you just keep it at one speed and run the whole time? I just said, Because I'm trying to burn fat, not just expend energy. LOL

Hi everyone! I have discovered that I have really lost some endurance over the last couple of weeks.. I haven't done a HIIT for 2-3 weeks, while dealing with my tooth thing. Way to painful to do cardio.. So, I'll have some catching up to do. Luckily endurance is gained quickly with HIIT

well, I'm back on track with my workouts - yay! This week so far:-

Monday:- HIIT
Tuesday:- UB Weights
Wednesday:- Pilates

Plannings on finishing much the same:-

Thursday:- HIIT
Friday:- LB Weights
Saturday:- Pilates

Althought I'm going dancing Friday night and working Saturday morning so that one might go by the wayside .

Jami, I have lost a LOT of conditioning for both HIIT & weights. I've been out of regular workouts for over 2 months now so really am noticing it. Only managed 10reps for HIIT (same intensity, but a few slightly longer rest intervals ). Also my weights have dropped back to 12kg for chest/tris & 10kg for arms/shoulders. As you say though HIIT will come back up fairly quickly and I can live with the weights - they'll come back up in time too.

Feeling the UB weights workout this morning mostly in my chest & shoulders - good workout sore though.

dont jump so fast into hiit.. do some intervals first. like many 120/120 to start.. then after a week or two, decrease to a short work/shorter rest... to start...

when i have a tready that is hard to do that with, i set it at a speed.. and jump off and jog (if the unit lets you/wont turn off. I have a friend that uses two treadys side by side, but our commerical gym they turn off if you dont stand on them.

some people use a spin bike so that they dont hav to fight with the button changing but *I* find i get a better burn of cals running..

Hey there! Its going great! I was kind of in the "woman down" phase for a couple weeks with my cardio, that hindered me a little. But now I'm up and running (literally) again which is great! Funny how much a stupid tooth can affect everything.

Hey guys!

I've been MIA, but am still going strong with my plan. I seem to have hit a brick wall, so Erik has given me a once a week full day refeed to see if that will help my poor metabolism fire back back up. I did my first one on Tuesday, and OMG, it seemed like all I did that day was eat!

I am loving my newest training plan - a couple of days of heavy weights, some metabolic training, and some supersets. My cardio is cool too - I talked Erik into letting me do my TurboKick for my steady state cardio, and he has me doing sprints now too.

Jami, I'll tell you the same thing I said over on LBF - you're lookin' good, babe!

Laura (HOttie)- Thanks! You are SO rockin' out on your plan!! Motivation of steal baby, Im so proud of you!

Laura (purr girl) Thank you! I want a refeed too! I drool when I see the people on the LBF site mention their refeed days. I had one a month or so ago and it was wonderful! It sure makes you look Jacked up the next couple days.

Ileen, Thank you! YES! I am going to hit it as hard as I can. Cardio may suffer some still because of my legs, but I'll do what I can tolerate.

Great UBWO last night... I seem to be upping the weight every single workout. I'm sort of amazed by how quickly my strenght is increasing. Maybe the old mass I developed as a high school athlete and doing power lifting training in college? Or maybe its true that you build alot of muscle mass when you are obese. I used to weight over 260 pounds so maybe thats where the muscle came from...

Anyways I'm not complaining! Its sort of awesome.

I think the muscle does return quickly when you get back into it. Probably returning from your powerlifting days. I don't know how much being obese or overweight makes you stronger. I know that the heavier you are that the more you can lift - via the old Force = Mass x Acceleration formula, but I kinda doubt it put on any long lasting muscle. I could be wrong.

I'll have to post the link that I got from a fitness forum I post on about how research was done showing most 10 year old girls can lift with a 10 lb weight. Most women start lifting too low and can lift heavier than they think. I kinda laugh when I see posts from women lifting 3 & 5 lb weights asking if they are gonna get bulky.
