Yes Jami rest please.
80% of it is diet. I always take comfort in the fact that I eat a clean low carb diet. That is truly what gives me the results I am looking for. Weight lifting is the icing on the cake. So rest and keep your diet clean.

Thank Ayana!

My mouth still hurts as much as it did a few days ago.. It is swollen and I am still dependent on my pain meds, I can barely talk because of the pain without them. The Dentist said in regards to the procedure, that "it doens't get much worse than that one" I really hope that by Monday I'll be feeling better and narcodic free! I dont remember recovery being this bad from previous extractions. These meds really mess with my body, I feel squishy, sick to my stomach and all kinds of YUCK..
ALRIGHT! Enough complaining about my mouth! Im sure you all are sick of hearing about it now! LOL
Have a great day you guys!

oooooooh that sounds sooooooo painful!
Don't push yourself to get off the painkillers before you're ready. With such a traumatic surgery I'd be staying ahead of the pain by taking meds on schedule not trying to wean off. Cut yourself a break!

I know you're eager to get back to the gym but rushing it before you're healed may do more harm than good so just follow what your body is telling you is right. Hope you get well soon!

Good MOrning! How is everyone's SUnday? What do you all have planned for today? Anyone working out? New goals?

We had a lazy night last night.. We started watching "Catch me if you can", then as we were flipping channels between commercials, "Scarface" started, so, we watched that instead.. The edited version is pretty funny... Most of every sentence and scene had to be edited.. LOL Not a movie that was intended for all ages on public TV.

Still feeling the pain, and yuck today. Tomorrow I am going back to the gym.. Getting in an upperbody workout, then when I take Cole to B-Fit I'll run that 5K route.

Jami, I'm around but not 'working out' per se. Sunday I worked 2 4hr shifts (different jobs) instead . After working full-time during the week working ~5hrs Saturday, teaching dance class Saturday afternoon & going out social dancing Saturday night; then working the 2 jobs Sunday I'm exhausted!

It's a public holiday here today (Monday) so far I've done 2 loads of washing (linen), folded 2 loads of clothes that hubby brought off the line but left in a heap in the basket . Put dishes away and washed up from last night. About to check if the grass is dry enough to mow as it's overcast here today. Then I'm going to a friends place before dance instructor training this afternoon. No time for a workout today either!!

Hope the rest of your weekends are all good.

Hello everybody.

I'll be working out this Wednesday. I'll have had about 10 days off when I do go back. Hopefully I'll feel re-energized.

Jami - I hope your mouth is feeling better.

OZ,, You are the busiest person I know!! LOL Good for you! Really!! I could never do all that you do. I work my 3 12's and I'm off during the week.. and I dont want any more than that. ** im so lazy** LOL

Hi Matt~ Im sure you are itching to get back to the gym! I know I hated having time off. I "feel" like I am losing so much.. I know Im not, but its the mentality of it. Unfortunately I did feel like I have lost some endurance and strength on my ubwo this morning. Plus I was riving in pain as well, so Im sure that was a factor.

Good Morning everyone!! I hope you are all well and happy today!
This morning I did some measuring, and to my surprise I have lost another 1/4 inch off each thigh!! I have finally made it to the 21 inch decade!!!
I also got in a 45 minute workout this morning too.. I really wasn't feeling very good, but I pushed through it!! The pain from my mouth was ridiculous this morning so I only did chest, back and biceps.. and I feel like I only could give my work out 80% of an effort. I'll just do an upper body split this week, and do triceps and shoulders tomorrow, then a HIIT to follow.

I am sad that I have lost some strength.

So today I did

Cable flat bench chest presses
12x40lbs (per side)
10x42
8x45
6x45

Chest flys:
4 sets of 8x38

Face Pulls
12x50
10x55
8x65
6x70

Lat pull downs
12x64
10x68
8x74
6x74

Rope bicep curls
12x50
10x55
8x60
6x60

Not so great.. But, I'll be up and at em' soon..

Oh!! LOL I forgot to mention. Last night I died.. I lost my battle with my mouth.. It happened sometime around 2am.. Sucks.. Then, this morning as I was leaving the gym, on my way to the car a bird pooped on me!! IN PUBLIC!! I think I can say that I didn't have a very good start!

Yeah, I can't wait to get back.

I actually went pretty low carb for my time off. I don't know - I don't have Erik or anything. I figured I would listen to my body and just kinda eat more carbs if I felt run down.

My job is sedentary at least half of my day, so I felt I could give on the carbs a little. Plus, I don't count calories, just eat when I'm hungry. I figured that I had enough carbs within 48 hours of the last time I worked out to help strengthen and heal my muscles.

I'll see how it goes. I still plan on adding pre and post workout carbs when I get back. But, even the relatively small amount of carbs I was eating recently seemed to affect me. I didn't feel bloated per se, but I looked it. Especially in the belly. Ugh. Maybe I need more time to adapt.

Good idea for going Lower carb on your off days My job is sedentary too, lots of desk and computer work.. I did very LC while I was off from exercise for 7 months while i was getting my back in order.. It does help. Lots of carbs tend to make me look squishy in the belly too..

yes but you are supposed to bring cals up to maintenance to reset if dieting (you were dieting?) In that case, lowER than non trainng but not so low.. the purpose is to reset lepin/hormones..

Matt, Its amazing how much food healthy calories from Maintenance is! When I took my break I never thought I could eat that much!! I was spoiled, then when dieting resumed it was hard to get that mindset back. If you are doing maintenance, and LC.. it would be easy to reach those cals with adding in some healthy fats. I have a wonderful Love relationship with Peanut butter

Ileen, Did you see that Erik put the peanut butter chocolate whey gourmet on the subs list?? I thanked him. LOL
He said that I could put off my BiWeekly until all the water weight from the meds are gone.. GEEZ 3 lbs up!! I was up to 145.2 this morning. BUT when I measured myself the tape measure was very nice.. another 1/4 inch off each thigh... YEP, Another scale flaw!! So funny how that works especially since Im holding on to that much water.

sweet on the PP.. I have that ON my plan so no need for me to sub it.. I also have another brand i interchange with it.. (not nearly as good as the Choc Pb.. though!)

neat on the biweekly. pays to ask.. but nice your measurements are going down regardless.

Thanks Ileen.

I'm hoping that my leptin and hormones got reset within the last couple of weeks I was working out. On top of my added carbs, I started eating somewhat like a pig. It is hard to regulate my food sometimes, especially when I'm reading all kinds of powerlifting literature that always encourages "eat to get big".

Today was my first day back in the gym after my 10 days off. It felt amazing.

Matt~ Im sure that it DID feel great getting back to the gym!! I know I was itching to get back when I took my training break. Dieting breaks are so hard! It breaks my "ZONE" and its hard to get that back.

Hi everyone! My basement has finally dried up! We flooded on Monday, nothing was ruined thank goodness, but it was a mess. The computer/office is down here, so We had to unplug it for a few days.
I am still waiting to feel 100%.. still pain, and yuck from the pain meds. I did start working out again this week, but each workout ends incomplete. I dont want to take pain meds before I go, but then I go home early due to pain.. and if I go with pain meds on board, then Im too foggy brained to lift safely. In the mean time the scale numbers are going up, and it sucks seeing that.. I hope that I can start working out routinely again on Monday.

Jami, hope you are back to 100% very quickly.

Still keeping up with you guys, even though I haven't gotten back to lifting yet. I have my bellydance concert Saturday night so am madly sewing beading on my costume and trying not to panic over the improvised solo I've agreed to perform ! Planning on getting back to lifting, HIIT & pilates routine next week so should be back in here with something to add or lots of questions .

Hi everyone! Wow, its been quiet in here latley. You can tell Laura has been on vacation. LOL

Today has been quiet here at work.. Maybe I shouldn't say that too loud... We had some pretty loud thunderstorms come in last night. I could barely sleep! I was afraid that the power would go out and that I would over sleep, so I tossed and turned all night. When I get home from work, Im going to eat, and hit the hay..

Hello - I am on vacation now and loving it. My husband and I just celebrated 9 years. I have been also hanging with the girls at the hotel pool. And of course, I am at the gym at least 4-5 days a week.

I am at 135lbs but don't want to get any lower. I just want to focus of bodyfat and showing my muscle.

Ayana~ Great job on the 135.. That has always been my goal weight, but getting under 142 is impossible for me. I used to weight 135 up until 2008. So I always thought it was something I could get to again.. not so much. I can wear almost all the clothes from then, but I still have a little ways to go. Congrats on the 9 YR anniversary!! I hope you have a great vacation, Im so jealous about the pool!
