Good Morning..
Thank you for all the welcomes..i have been looking for a nice forum to chat with people about lifting and weight loss.
I had been on Weight Watchers for about a year. I made Lifetime in November at 121 and then went insane at the holidays and beyond and now i'm back at 134. I have been wanting to try low carb since i have noticed carbs seem to stick to me
I need to look around and see just how to do my diet and carbs. I'm really not sure how low i should go. My diet usually goes like this..
M1
40g oats,1 egg,20g protein powder
M2
same
M3
2 cups green beans,3 ozs chicken,2c romaine,herbs,1tbsp low fat dressing
M4
This is my trouble spot..i was thinking of maybe trying the 1 minute muffin i found on this site last night
M5
6ozs protein..grilled chicken,steak,fish..2c romaine,2c broccoli

I drinks lots of green tea during the day, take fish oil, tons of water..no soda. I also try and stay away from boxed, processed foods.

I love to workout. I run 3-4 miles 6 days a week, I lift 6 days a week.
I run in the mornings and lift in the afternoon. I also love doing EA Sports Active on my Wii.

This morning i ran 3.22 miles and i'll lift upper body this afternoon...

Ok i guess it's time for breakfast since i have talked your ears off...

I look forward to getting to know you all

i'd take the protein powder out of that meal and eat real food.

there are so many lean proteins you can add..

you are over training by running 6 days a week and 6 days wts

you can use the blf food meal plan as guidance for picking protein/carbs.. taper them if you want to fibrous later in the day or non training days which you dont seem to have any.

I recommend eating some healthy fats, especially in the absence of starch carbs when you taper.

I know i have a problem with over-training. I guess i feel like i can workout to make up for my bad food choices. I have been going over-board with the candy..i have such a sweet tooth. Once i start i have a hard time stopping.
So i have to go cold turkey and just stay away from the candy.

What is the blf food plan?

Thank you for your help

body for life as seen here: I'd taper 9cut carbs depending on YOUR individual needs and add some heathy fat choices.. they offer those ideas as well.

Welcome, Vanessa!

I agree with Ileen - it sounds like you're doing way too much! Sometimes less is more, and this is a perfect example when this is true. I also agree that you can't outrun a bad diet - you can work out until the cows come home, but if your diet's not up to par, it's likely you won't see the chages you're looking for. Sad, but true.

I'm working with Erik too, and cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be working out half the amount of time that I used to, eating lots more (both calories + carbs) than I used to, and actually have results that people notice!

Not saying that you have to hire Erik to get results or anything - Jami's had great results doing a 12 week BLF challenge.

I know that now..i have been workout out like mad and no progress..i know it's because of my out of control eating.
I'm off to find the book now..
I hope it works as well for me as it did Jami

Twyla! Hiya! Im here!! LOL I havent been posting much lately.. Its been busy, and honestly I have been trying to cut down on my computer time.. It was getting bad.. How are you!? How is your mom??

Vanessa, WELCOME! The BFL is a great program. I used to be a Low carb over trainer. too! I am so happy that I transitioned over to Normal eating.. Finding foods that my body craves! Now I cant stand eating candy and junk. It makes me feel bad, and look bad.. If I were you, coming from where I was.. I would follow the BFL guidelines. It really helped me learn how to eat right and train right. I only do 45 minutes of cardio a week now, when I used to run 4 miles a day 4 times a week.. Geesh! All that running got me no where! I thought I could run off my cheat foods that I was eating, but it doesn't work like that.. I suffered from out of control eating too, and then some.. Once I cleaned up my eating I discovered that its so easy to eat clean, and not crave that other stuff anymore. I bet after 1 or 2 weeks of healthy eating you'll get back on track.. Erik is a great coach. I just paid him today for his services.. just the dietary part. Im so excited to get my plan!

Hi Laura, Ileen, Rachel,Ayana, Karla, OZ,... Matt, am is missing someone?/ Sorry, im on a page with only Ileen, and Vanessa..

Hi everyone,

I'm still here. Still moving and breathing, lol. I've lost about 1.25" off my waist this round, which makes me happy. Pretty much maintaining everywhere else. Still eating healthy and doing my workouts but not obsessed with it right now. I'll hit it harder again in about a month.

I am celebrating six months of eating clean and working out. That's a pretty cool milestone itself. The last time I both ate well and exercised consistently was probably 10 years ago. I am looking forward to one my year anniversary, lol.

Twyla - Hey there, beautiful!

Vanessa - sounds like a good plan.

Ileen - So you're not trying to get any leaner? Enjoy your refeed! I know that I'll be eagerly anticipating your write-up of it!

Jami - Have you already started checking your email box every 5 minutes for your plan? Can't wait for you to get it!

Rachel - Congrats on your milestone and for also continuing to make progress. That's awesome!

I had LB training yesterday, which means that I got a yummy PWO snack afterwards! I had a mini bag of popcorn plus a serving of Kettle Corn flavored rice treats to go along with my protein shake (which I made into a Kaluha flavored frozen treat).

I've been a BeachBody Coach for awhile, but am now ramping things up by going for my certification in TurboKick (live version of TurboJam) next month. I'm very excited about the possibilities that await me once I'm certified, especially since I have an online friend that is getting me hooked up to teach at her gym.

Vanessa, welcome to the boards, and best of luck to you in your journey...you'll get some good advice from the subsribers to this thead.

Ileen!, ahhhhight. Lah-dee-FRIKKIN-dah! (Can you tell I'm jealous???) That's just too cool. Now ya KNOW I'm gonna wanna know what carbs you end up pigging out on!

Rachel, congratulations on your milestone. That's definitely something to be proud of, the most deserved "feather in your cap" of all.

Jami, life happens. I know the feeling. Thanks for asking about Mom. She's about the same.

Laura, wasn't aware of your certification endeavors. How cool is THAT. Love all the Turbo Jam series, and the TurboKick sounds like so much fun. You'll love that.

Okay. So everyone is still breathing and putting in their work.

Just checkin' ........

Hello everyone - been so busy. We only have 2 1/2 weeks of the school year to go. So excited. Can you say "pool side anyone"? Alot of hotels in Vegas open their pools for locals. We all know about Rehab at Hard Rock and Ditch Fridays at the Palms but more low key nice hotels are doing the same thing. I can not wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news.......................I am now 19% bodyfat and down to 139lbs. Woohoo! It made my week.

everyone. Well I've missed 2 days workouts now . I have a little tummy bug and the sniffles, plus it's gotten very cold here all of a sudden, good weather for snuggling in bed and I had DD there too the last 2 mornings . Not a big deal that I missed today though as I am working my normal day job, then one of my other jobs tonight so the sleep in was justified and I'll be on my feet tonight.

On a positive note, even though my nutrition hasn't been spot on I must be doing something right. My official weigh-in day is Monday, but this morning I weighed 152lbs which is virgin fat territory - I haven't weighed 152 in about 7 years. Happy camper, just hoping is sticks and I can get down the the 140s in the next week or 2.

Good Morning Everyone,
Just finished my first 20 minute treadmill workout. Boy was i sweating. It was the best workout i have had in a long time.
I decided to wait and start the lifting plan on Monday. It will be easier that way.

Ileen- The muffins were not in the book. I got them off this site. It's the 1 minute muffins. I love them

Oz- I hope you feel better soon

Twyla-Good Morning

Laura~ YES I have been checking!! I dont think I'll get it until monday or tuesday, but I am checking anyways.. LOL Im so excited to start dieting again! I never thought I'd hear myself say that so many times in one week! lOL

Ileen~ LUCKY girl!! Unlimited carb refeed!! Have fun with that!! Just one more day?? LOL I would have a list of all kinds of treats!! Did you get a whole day for that too?! Last days of school are always bitter sweet aren't they..

Ayana~ Congrats on the great numbers!! Your doing a great job! Isn't it fun to see those changes!

Vanessa~ I would deffinetly go by the original bfl book.

Oz, Congrats on seeing that new number!! YAY for you! There are so many yucky bugs going around here as well. DOnt you just love season transitions?? LOL NOT> Its been cold and rainy here, not a good spring so far.. I think is actually going to stop raining for a day or two this week and warm up a little.

Twyla~ SOrry about your mom.. On a postive note, I think that you, Laura and me should have a TURBO JAM session! LOl I love TJ...

No much changing here for me. I am starting round 2 of BFL.. Even though its technically not bflish, I still like to say Im in a challenge.. after all, I am trying to change my Body for LIfe right! it keeps me motivated..

Jami,

I just have to ask how you motivate to count EVERYTHING EVERYDAY? And how did you motivate/Im not sure is "motivate" is the right word...but what got you through your original challenge? I think my prob is that I think about it to much/hard. Over think it! I need to JUST DO IT already! Make a promise to myself to get thru the 12 weeks and keep that promise! Ive struggled (well am struggling) with eating disorder my whole life and am really needing something like this to help me conquer it as well! Anyway, thanks for all your support/help/advice....etc...Lacey
Ive been scared to go to the gym and do my 1st workout....intimidating if you dont know what you are doing...but I am going tomorrow morning for my 1st UBWK! Yeah!!

Just do it Lacey..

take your bfl plan and follow it.. you dont have to think much, it's all laid out for you..

Jami, yes, i have the WHOLE day.. I had calculated refeeds leading up to this though quite generous...

The scale hit an all time low this am and no clue why suddenly i had a major whoooshhhhhhh of almost 4lbs when nothing in my plan changed.

Yeah!!
Lacey, what motivates me?? LOL It helps that I am extremelly obsessive.. OCD ALL THE WAY! Believe me, I over thought the bfl thing way to much before I started it.. I couldn't even sleep the night before I was going to start the program.. Im sure I drove everyone nuts on here.. LOL After the first 2 weeks, it get easy, and you know what to do. When I found out that I was eating at least 300 more calories a day from NOT weighing my food in grams, I decided that weighing my food in grams was a must, not its just a routine. I also make many meals in advance for the day, or two. That way its easier to just grab the container and eat it.. no thought goes into it after its prepared. I think that the structure will help with your ED. It has me Just take one workout at a time. It is intimidating when you see your whole workout line up. Write down everything that you plan on doing and mark down the reps and weight that you've done. I keep an exercise journal that I take with me to the gym. You can get these at book stores or walmart book section. The night before my workout I make out my Itinerary of things Im going to do, this really helps!.. here is what a bfl worout whould like like written out.. oh..
chest: Dumbbell bench press 12reps/30lb dumbbells, 10reps/35lb, 8rep 35lb, 6rep/45lb.. 12rep/30lb..
back
shoulders
bicep
tricep
and just find a workout for the next body parts.. but change your routines everytime. So next time I'll do incline bench presses for chest..
Another motivator for me is the bodyforlife-tracker.com its a forum for bflers.. Im on there Check it out. I have the same user name on there than on here
Oh, I was going to ask you, How long have you been dieting now?? I think that I and everyone would agree to eat clean not junk maintenace calories for a couple weeks to reset your metabolism.. THIS IS WHAT REALLY HELPED me with the ED thing.. Dieting is dangerous for me, especially if I have been doing it for a long time. I wish I would have done that before starting BFL.. I think I would have seem better results.. but Im still happy with what I did.

Ileen. WOW 4 lb woosh!! Geez! Thats amazing! Not that I care or even look anymore, but I seriously dont lose anything below my baseline. I wonder how Erik will work with me on this.. I cant wait to get my new plan!! I will be thinking about you today during your oh so wonderful REFEED!!!

VanessaMondays are always a great day to start something new! Im starting my second BFL challenge on Monday as well Things will be a little differerent on this secound bout, but I cant wait to see the changes that are in store!! I told Lacey this too, go on bodyforlife-tracker.com LOTS of info on there!!
