If we are ordering 'fairies' I want a tricep fairy... My ballet recital is June 5 and while my arms are better they will not loose their 'wings' before the dance and the costume is sleeveless. I wish I had been able to influence the dance teacher into some sleeves...

Great work out last night

I did legs and abs last night and then headed to my favorite and only group class I take (except dance classes) - Alan's 8strikes in Las Vegas, Nevada. He killed it!!!! I came out of that room looking like a sweaty pig but I loved it.

I had more calories than usual yesterday but I wasn't over too much.

My post workout shake was yummy: 1 scoop of cookies/cream Extreme Whey, 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of water, tons of ice, and a splash of sugar free chocolate Da Vinci syrup. Sooo good.

A~ Your shake sounds delish!!.... Did you know that PWO meals should be 5grams of fat or less??? I just learned this myself.. Low fat meals around workout time. High fat slows digestion, and at pre and post workout you want fast digestion to absorb those goodies..
anyways.. I was glad to learn that myself. I think it has really helped me with my progress..

Jami - Loved the butt crack pic! You actually had me going there for a sec, since the pic doesn't show up in your post. I had to copy and paste in order to see it.

Ileen - OMG, you look awesome! I wanna be you when I grow up!

Karla - WTG on those pushups! Yes, I'll be happy to post pics of the fireplace remodel. You want to see what it looks like now, or just wait until we build the mantel? I have to eat 5 times a day - big difference from the 2 or 3 times a day I was eating before starting with Erik. I swear, eating almost seems like a full time job!

Twyla - Hi sweetie!

Afuentes - Tell me more about your class - it sounds awesome! Jami's right. As yummy as your PWO shake sounds, it really should be low in fat and higher in carbs. What if you dropped the PB and milk (unless it's skim), and just have the shake along with a something low fat and carby, like some fruit, or half a bagel, or something along those lines.

Okay, I've got to shower, eat yet again , and go do some grocery shopping for my guys. I guess I need to get my coupons together too, because who wants to pay full price for this stuff if they don't have to? Not me!

Laura! Wasnt that funny! I'm glad you saw it. I am terrible at posting pics. They never turn out half the time. I need to get better at clipping those coupons too. I was behind this girl at walmart and she had a huge stack of coupons. She saved $80!! Isn't that crazy. She was telling me that the process is annoying and time consuming, but worth it..

Eating meal #3...

Jami, I think the issue maybe be "stolen" bandwidth. I bet if you had saved the pic, and hosted it yourself, it would have showed up just fine. It was still funny, and worth the extra effort!

I was totally into the extreme couponing earlier this year. I was able to match up killer sales with current coupons by using a free couponing site (southernsavers.com), and was able to slash my grocery bills in half. I stockpiled so much stuff that DH had to build me a shelving unit to hold it all, and calls it "The country Store".

I've slacked off a bit so that we can use up some of what we already have, but now it's time to gear up again. It's so nice to pay next to nothing for groceries, paper products, and toiletries, and always have most of those things on hand.

My best deal was getting $120 in groceries at Publix, and only paying $14 out of pocket for it all! The cashier couldn't believe it!

I didn't know that either. I was told the opposite just recently. Well it was just the 1/2 cup of milk and 1 tbsp of PB so that's not that bad. No wonder I wasn't hungry at all hours after.

I am learning so much. You know, usually I do almond milk but had run out of it and I was craving PB. hehe Yeah, I will try just my PP, almond milk or lowfat Fage yogurt and water (anyone try this? great), ice and whatever SF DaVinci syrups I have laying around.

Oh I forgot to mention my class.

Alan Giron is a personal trainer in Vegas and specializes in martial arts. His class is popular b/c it is so intense. You do kickboxing moves along with football drills and other bootcamp style exercises.

I would put his website up but will I get in trouble? It is 8strikes so you could totally find info on it on the web. Alan's fanpage for 8strikes is also on Facebook.

I don't know, Afuentes. Erik's got certifications out the wazoo (seriously!) in both nutritrion as well as training, so I'd totally trust what he says. Also, I've seen where IFBB competitors talk about what they eat during the course of a day, and they seem to be doing the same after strength training.

I sent you a PM with some info you should check out.

I checked it out, and it looks cool! I have the opportunity to get trained and certified in TurboKick this summer. I think it'd be so cool to do, and to be able to teach classes locally, but am not sure if the timing's right. I'm going to have to do some serious thinking about it.

What she said You want fast absorbing food for pre and post workout.. So oatmeal, protein powder, bagels, pretzels, protein powder... They will absorb FAST and allow those muscles to replenish their glycogen levels. That way they repair fast and dont end up eating themselves up for energy..

Laura, whatever pictures you want to post about the remodel project would be great! I'm just curious (noisy?)

Good to know about the pre/post meals. Most of the time I was getting it right but I have put PB in my shakes before and not known it was a no-no. Live and learn...

Wasn't planning anything specific with my work out today. Kinda sore from boot camp last night and have to work double 16's this weekend (as always) so I thought, "well, I'll go lay in the tanning bed and then decide." Got there and the gym was practically empty. I almost had the place to myself! So after tanning I ventured over into the 'guy' area (free weights) and decided to see if I could lift something that wasn't covered in a pretty, colored rubber.

I did UB work with heavier weights and even used the preacher bench (I think that is what it is called). It was sorta fun! I might have to wander over that way again!

Oh I know it's just a work in progress and I'm not really trying to pry. I just think it's fascinating to see home improvements. I dream of having a house someday 'fixed the way I want it' and I love to see what others have done.

Dinner tonight was a serving of pork loin and brussel sprouts. Sure was good!

Karla, good for you getting to the guy side. The last actual gym that I went to, I was always in the guys room. I always kept to myself, but it took me a couple deep breaths to walk in their domain.. LOL Im glad you crossed over! I had a great work out too last night. Not a lot of people in the fitness center..
Laura, I am wanting to see remodel pics too. It'll be nice to get that project done. LOL We want pics! We want pics! LOL Thank you for posting that link! I tried every way I could think of but it wouldn't work.

Karla - no worries, you're not prying! I'm just a slacker who hasn't uploaded the pics just yet!

Rachel - sorry you had a stressful day. I hope you've got lots of good things planned for the weekend to make up for it.

Afuentes - smart girl! Plus, this way, you get to have some carby things that you normally wouldn't be able to have. I love granola, but we all know that sure isn't allowed on a low carb plan. I'm going to check it out and see if I can pull it off after my strength workouts. I sure hope so!

Jami - okay, I'll make sure that I post some pics this weekend. As for the link, it's really easy. Just do this, but remove all of the spaces in between the brackets:

[url = http://www . your url . com] your url title [ / url ] Hope that helps.

I've got cardio today, and then I have no idea what we'll be doing. We should finish the fireplace, but it's beautiful out, and DH wants to do something outside. Maybe we'll go to Red Top Mountain and hike for a bit with the kidlet and the dog.

Oh! I totally forgot to tell y'all about my experiment with the PP and PB balls. I mixed 30 grams of PB with 1/2 scoop of PP, and added just a little bit of water to make the mixture pliable. Then I rolled them into 4 balls, then flattened them a bit. I put them in the freezer and let them sit for a few hours. They stuck to the plate, so I had to scrape them off with a knife. They were good, but honestly, not worth the extra trouble. The PP/PB pudding I made was better.

I've got to figure out a way to make "granola" bars with just dry oats, eggs, and fruit. We're going camping next weekend, and I'm totally at the thought of dealing with all of my on-plan food. I guess I'll be doing some experimenting tomorrow...

Laura, Thank you for the link! I copied it and pasted it in my siggie. Im glad that I finally learned how to do it.

I think your protein pb balls sound great! I really like protein pudding better too. I get the SF FF snack packs, mix 7g protein powder and mix it up. It is really good with the chocolate pudding and my PB protein..
