I'm a week behind Stack on this because I messed up my first week. I've probably gone up to 8 weeks straight VLC in the past 8 months, but I've had quite a few carb up days off and on in recent months.

I think my body really loves to be in keto mode. I always have super workouts with a lot of energy. I'm leaning out a little. My 32 waist pants are getting a little loose.

Hi everyone!

Back from the dr. Still says no running for another 3 weeks. He was a little alarmed that the therapist had me running but understood that the visits were limited now and they needed a good idea as to where I was. He says I still have too much laxity in my ligaments, making my peroneal tendon pick up the slack, which is why I still have a lot of pain in the back of my ankle. Slow going but he does state there is improvement. Told me to go get some Traumeel cream for the swelling. That and getting my balance back should be top priority. Big thumbs up for the yoga classes. He really doesn't want me doing any heavy lifting unless I am fully secure, but I figured that.

OMG you all look so awesome! Jami, if you abs are wrong I don't want to be right girl. You are lovely. Oz, love the pose, you look fab!

I still look mushy. I am having frustration because of limitations and am bordering on pity party status. Of course this is totally counter productive, but my brain is a little angry right now. No weight loss, of course no gain. But no change in stats or measurements either. I guess I should just be happy I am not gaining right?

hi Louie! Bummer about the ankle. I know you are getting anxious. At least you are able to maintain and not gain while you are off your running feet..
thanks by the way... I hate pics of me , especially when I take them with no make up lol

thanks everyone, might take some more in a week or so after some time in the sun on our vacation. I am sooo white!! Actually I'm a little bit browner now than when that pic was taken, might find the time and courage to do pics in bike shorts/singlet top for comparison as I'm lifting heavier too.

Jamie, looking great girl - you have really leaned out this last 2 months. I know about the pics situation, it's still hard for me I guess I still have that fat girl mentality. Normally like pics I'm going to make public to be made up & dressed in something flattering .

Louie, sorry you are still battling this injury. Great job on maintaining through it though don't know if I'd be able to do the same at this stage of my journey.

Talked myself into a LB weights workout this morning. I was pushed for time so only did 2 sets instead of 3, but I did a workout none the less. Was able to hold onto the dumbbells a bit better this morning so I'm getting stronger with that and didn't have as much trouble getting the barbell off my shoulders either . Only manages 4 reps per set of the squat, straight leg deadlift combo things I'm doing now with dumbbells. Did 12 reps with barbells of my other exercises so need to buy more weight plates already! Also still need to buy a better barbell. Don't have to worry about it for the next 2 weeks though as the apartments we are staying on vacation have a gym with weight machine.

Almost packed for vacation now, just a few things to add in from the washing I brought off the line this morning. Only 1 more sleep now .

BTW Karla, I stretch after every workout. But I have always been flexible. I start my yoga/streching session with some active leg stretches - possible do them already with ballet, you swing (controlled) one leg forward/backward or side-to-side which actively increases the range of motion of the joint. You can do this with your arms - big circles fowards and backwards, and with your hips/lower back - locking legs/lower abs and twisting your torso left to right.

I then do a yoga sequence that is kind of a sun salutation sequence with some abs and standing leg stretches. I then sit with legs out towards splits and do my arm, neck & side body streches. From there I go to leg stretches:- lying into the leg splits; then each side I do hip flexor stretch then thigh stretch, then yoga swan pose for the other hip flexor and splits to that side (i.e. left leg forward, right leg back). Sometimes I just stretch the front leg hamstring with foot pointed & flexed.

Hope that helps and my explanation is understandable. I can do the splits with one leg forward other leg back on both L & R; but I've never been able to sit in side splits, the closest I get is about 1 foot off from the floor.

Good morning everyone! thank you all for your kind compliments.

Oz, I still see "that girl" too. I was looking at myself this morning and I was thinking how I am not ready for this BFL challenge to be over. I only have one month left... I really need a prep... I'll find one online today... I guess that mentally of I can do better is good its what keeps us going. I thought you looked great though! You have great definition in you arms and you look really slim, I love it! You are a very pretty girl!!

Afuentes, Thanks! I love that "I can feel it!" feeling... It lets you know how hard ya worked!

Karla, I actually did something different yesterday. I usually do lower/heavy reps, and instead I did 4 sets well 6 if you count warm ups.. . 2 warms ups, 2 high rep 15 max, and then 2 heavy reps at 6-7 reps... I lifted until failure on the last 2 reps. I dont know how effective that is, but for me I had a great workout, and a pump like a guy... I think I might do that for a while to change things up a little. Anyways, its fun to play with it to see what you can come up with, and it takes away that Monotonous feeling.

Ok. Today is HIIT, I am also going to do abs, calves, THE TWO THINGS I ABSOLUTELY HATE DOING! They are my weakest body part. I really have to work on my abs. I have little body fat on my upper body (pear shaped), so I can tell that the definition just isn't there. Plus I need to find a plan to get my butt in really good condition in 4 weeksss. Any ideas??

Oz, in terms of stretches, I do all of what you described so I guess I'm on the right path. It is just going to take time and patience is really not one of my virtues! I think God is really working on me because there are so many things in my life right now that I can't speed up.

Tonight is my first 'boot camp' (last week got rained out) so it's going to be interesting to see if I survive. I'm mildly sore from my workout last night so we'll see how well I move on Friday morning!

Jami, I like changing things every now and then. I know we are suppose to but it is also good for the mind! I watch the different trainers that come through when I'm there and often 'steal' their moves they do with their clients.

Good morning!

Doing good this AM. Going at lunch for some elliptical and LB weights. Then tonight I am going to yoga. Dr said I need to be doing it no less than 2 days a week. Yeah right twist my arm! I love yoga too much to say no.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I hate it when I feel crappy. I'm so glad I have support and people who know what I am going through.

Hey guys!

I'm still waiting for my plan from Erik. His wife had the nerve to have their baby at the same time he was supposed to deliver my plan to me - can you believe that?

So, until I get my hands on my plan, I'm continuing to eat maintenance cals and 100-150 carbs per day. Hopefully that's what Erik was wanting me to do!

I made broccoli, cheese & rice casserole yesterday, and OMG, it was heaven! I'm going to finish it off (with a baked chicken breast) after my workout in just a bit. Dinner tonight will be low-fat chicken and broccoli fettuchini and a side salad.

Okay, I better go so that I can get my workout done!

Karla, I got it done a couple days ago on Tuesday. She is going to call me with the results.. I am just dying to know. It was a lot of fun! Hard, but fun. There were 3 other men there getting it done. We all had to have 10 successful readings. Some of those guys had to do it 15 times to get there 10.. It was awkward since I was in my bathing suit... Apparently this is supposed to be one of the most accurate ways to record body fat... The one at the gym, where they put that thing on your bicep is pretty inaccurate. I got that tested too, just so I can compare the two.. I'll let you all know what the results from both are I hope tomorrow..

Good Morning all. For those that work the standard Mon-Fri. I know you are all thrilled to see the weekend! And a holiday weekend at that. Any Easter egg hunts in your future?

For those of us that work weekends (holidays and all!) I'm sad to see the beautiful week end. The weather where I live has been glorious and the outdoor boot camp class has begun. Yesterday was no weight training since I did my first class. Lots of sqats and lunges and pushups. Today will be very light for me. A mild warm up of some kind and then lots of stretching.

Me too... We had such great weather this week, I think it is supposed to storm all day today, and rain a little tomorrow. I have to work on Easter for 1/2 a day. My co worker and I are going to take turns with call for the day, and come in if there is a patient.. Do you have to work Sunday?? Im thinking you do huh..
DH has to work as well, I think I might go to my parents and have dinner later that afternoon, and maybe get a jog in if the weather is nice.

Today for some reason my shins are killing me! I cant believe I have shin splints. I haven't had those in years. I only did HIIT twice this week, which is normal, but they weren't very good. I started getting those side stitches 15 minutes into it and it is very hard pushing through those.

Hiya!

Off early today to I went and saw the trainer. He is working on all my stability stuff for my outer thighs and glutes right to help make sure my ankle gets more stable. I wanted to kill him by the end of the workout but oh man...

Hi everyone! I am just finishing up my day here at work. Just 29 minutes left!! I cant wait! LOL

Louie, your trainer is busting your butt huh!? LOL Atta girl!

I brought my gym bag to work with all intentions to work out after I get off. I am so tired. I have been up for 13 hours now, worked hard all day and I really dont want to do LBWO today... I think I might skip... At least my nutrition has been 100%, so that's something to be happy about...

Have a great night everyone!!

Yeah, I have clearance for most everything except very deep squats and running.

Hi everyone!
I'm back! We had a good time! I ate low carb and took one free meal. I know I ate more calories than I would have at home, but overall, except for a little bit too much dairy, I think I did pretty well. We walked a TON, and I'm exhausted. I am going to get a good night's sleep and back to the gym tomorrow.

Ozdancer, you are so beautiful! I love the definition in your arms.

Jami, you inspire me! I hope you are seeing the changes that I am seeing?! I can totally see you as a fitness competitor.

Ileen, you look AMAZING. You are so sculpted!

Louie, glad you've been cleared for working out. That's fabulous news!!

I'm getting caught up with the thread. Will be back to say hello tomorrow after I hit the gym. Went and stocked up on healthy food at the grocery store tonight!

Well I know I am working hard b/c I feel my legs big time from my workout yesterday and my upper body from a few days ago. Today was an hour of cardio and tomorrow same thing. Sunday will be legs again and Monday is a rest day.

Monday is also my 2nd bodyfat analysis. I am nervous. The first time there wasn't any expectations. Now, of course, there is and I am being super good with my diet.

We will see how it goes.

Hi ILeen! I was wondering about you! I hope your having a great time in Florida, lucky girl!

Rachel, Thank you! I cant wait to see you after your next challenge! I just have 4 weeks left... I need to buckle down and stay 100%. Did you have a good vacation? HOw is your new plan working out? It is hard staying on plan when on vacation... it seems that once your out of your element, it seems more difficult.

Afutents~ I hope that you see some nice numbers! I am still waiting to get my results from the hydrostatic underwater thing! I am getting a little impatient. I got my bf% checked at gym with that bicep thing too, I was wanting to compare the two to check the accuracies..

I feel so much better today, rested wise. I was so tired yesterday at work. I hit my wall at about 2pm and I was worthless after that. That being said I did not get my LBWO. In my way of thinking, If I cant give something 90% or more, than I wont benefit from it.... Anyways.. LOL
It is so beautiful outside. I wish I had to day off to enjoy it. The sky is blue, birds are singing, grass is green!! I just love spring time, everything is so full of life!

Jami, it was good. Ileen is right...I need another vacation to recover from this one, lol. I'm glad we walked so much and glad I had a couple of days at the pool....because it's SNOWING here again, blech. I don't feel like I've hit my stride with my new plan yet. First I was sick, then I was traveling...I feel like I have just been maintaining (which is not a bad thing) and I am ready to hit it hard again now. A friend of mine has decided to do BFL! I'm excited for her.

Afuentes, it's good that you're feeling your workouts and keeping your eating clean. That's the secret to results...doing both consistently. Do you see your body changing in the mirror yet? That was always the challenge for me...sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't!
