This is true for me, my core is very strong. I struggle with upper body strength. If you have access to a gym, try doing some assisted dips and pull-ups. It really does help build strength. Another one is pyramid push-ups, do a set of 3,4,5,6 then back down 6,5,4,3. We trained like that when I was in the military.

The pace is what you're feeling. In the past, we moved pretty quickly and momentum carried us through a lot of the work that would have made the difference. So when you're moving so slowly, you have total control of the weights and there is no momentum and you can't "put your back into it" but be careful. I think that's how I dinged my elbow last week.

So I was up at 4:30 this morning doing CLX.

Now. I know Miss Chalene calls what we do in one of them "spiderman" push-ups but here is a *real* Spiderman push-up.

Oh, ow! ow! ow! I'm sticking with Chalean's spiderman pushups -- as bad as they are!

Did the Fat Burning Intervals from Disc 7 this morning -- it had something she called plyometric planks (or something like that) but was really the DREADED BURPEE in disguise! Ugh!

Oh, that Chalene is a sneaky one!!

I took a rest day. My shoulder is going better but it was nice to have an excuse, no matter how flimsy

I am off to do push circuit 2. This is the first week I haven't felt sore somewhere! Nikismom, you were right, I only did 4 push ups yesterday in push circuit 1 because they were at the end when I was already burning out! I managed to do 2/3 extreme, but I'm sure that last one wasn't purty!

Got up late this morning at 4:30 ... wanted to have the workout done by 5:15 but I did get up and do it so that's something.

It was my FAVORITE workout - Burn Intervals and Abs - yay. I thought I was gonna die on the burpees. I did it full force today with leaps and wide leg stance and thought I was going to pass out.

But everything feels so awesome.

I these workouts.

Happy Hump Day everyone.

Today is burn int and abs for me too! I always dread this workout, but when I'm done I say to myself, "now that wasn't so bad"! I am doing much better eating, and no wine since Sunday! I might allow myself wine on the weekend though!

Burn Circuit 2 today. I hate bowler's lunges. Not as much as burpees though.

Burn Intervals just don't seem to get any easier, not even after 8 weeks Push has been worse than the Burn Phase for me. In the Burn phase I made it through most of weight intervals...except Triceps. In the Push phase, not only does the cardio kick my butt but I fail on all the weight intervals with 5 pounds. I make through the first few but after that I am toast.

Something must be wrong with me because I am actually starting to like the Bowler lunges

Tonight is Push Circuit 3 and the last weight workout of the Push phase. I haven't peaked ahead to the Lean phase yet...part of me wants to and the other thinks I am better off not knowing

I still have all of next week in the push phase. I am thinking of doing one extra week of push to gain strength. I do okay with the intervals, it does kick my butt though. I do feel stronger as in Burn I couldn't do the triceps or all 20 burpees, but I do now. Again, the burpee form on reps 16-20 are far from great looking I'm sure. I tell myself that I'm tall and it's okay that I look like a giraffe stuck in a fence! I think I'm afraid of the lean phase because I have so much hope stored up that I'm going to change the way I look, I'll be depressed if I don't see change. I think I said above that I wasn't sore - well last night my upper back and triceps were killing me - they are still sore. I have to give Chalean credit - she is one of the few people who have kept me motivated like this. You have to let us know how Lean is Nikismom!!!

She picked the right profession. She's a great instructor anyway but in CLX, she is really, really good. She can drag that last rep out of you. I wish I could take a real class with her. I've heard she really kicks your arse.

I would love to take a class with her too. I loved her Turbo Jam and even more in CLX. She just seems like such a genuine person and has a great sense of humor.

Finished BC3. Increased weights for the shoulders to 15lbs and I've been L.A.Z.Y.

Bree told me to sleep in my workout clothes and that was a fine idea. I had no choice but to leap up and do the workout this morning. So thanks Bree.

On another board, I read a something by one of the women who were in the CLX test group. She said that a lot of women got bulky (eek!) during the Push phase, but then really leaned out and saw the best body changes during the Lean phase. So, I'm just gonna stick to it no matter what!

LOL! I don't sleep in mine, but I do put them right next to my bed, so it would be to guilt-inducing to avoid them.

Did my last Burn 2 today -- went heavy on the rows, and my back is achy! My balance is awful -- I fall over on those bowler's lunges!

That's what has happened to me. All of the inches that I lost during Burn, came back during Push. I'm sticking with it and hope to shrink quite a bit with Lean (which I start on Saturday).

Does anyone know the length of the Lean workouts? I've heard that they are longer and I'm trying to figure out how much longer so I can fit them in to my schedule.

About Chalene, I agree that she is so motivating. I love her motivational cd. I'm going to submit an email to Beachbody asking them if they could convince Chalene to record a podcast once a month that is similar to the motivational cd (advice, success stories, diet tips) and post it for people to download for a dollar. I would buy it every month and listen to it while I'm running.

Emily,
I went and looked at the times - 44, 39, and 38. So only lean 1 is really longer. I am feeling less than thin these days, I'm on the generic synthroid, but I think it's causing me massive headaches. I got bloodwork done today so I can be switched to Armour.

The lean phase is all silver and gold too - I think I liked the boots better. And I think her hubby is in there too!

I think I may move on to the lean phase when I'm scheduled too, I was going to do push one more week to get stronger, but after the lean phase there's always more time!

Rhonda

Thanks ladies! 44 minutes is perfect for Lean 1. I always do Circuit 1 on Saturday's, which is the day that I can do longer workouts.

So, something exciting happened at lunch. I did an interval run and after that I went back to the gym to stretch. After stretching, I decided to see how many push-ups that I could do on my toes. Pre-CLX I could do a max of 16. I cranked out 25 with good form! I was so excited that I almost started cheering in the gym!!! I've improved by 9 push-ups in two monthes time!!!

Edited because I can't add, lol.

Thank you!!! I was so excited.

So, I sent an email to Beachbody about my podcast idea. Once I receive a response, I will let you guys know

Beachbody,

I have a suggestion for a product that I think would be very popular on your site. I purchased CLX in December (starting the Lean Phase this Saturday!) One thing that I've really enjoyed about the product is the motivational cd that came with it. It would be wonderful if you could convince Chalene to record a podcast once a month that is similar to the motivational cd (motivational advice, success stories, diet tips) and post it for people to download for a dollar (or other reasonable amount). I would buy it every month and listen to it while I'm running or driving my 45 minutes to work. I have bounced the idea off of other people that I am doing CLX with and they all agreed that they would definitely purchase a podcast each month. A couple of people mentioned that they would buy monthly podcasts from Tony Horton as well. I think it would be wonderful if you had a section of your website devoted to podcasts that could be downloaded for a price. I believe that it would be very popular and probably bring in a small profit!

Thank you,
Emily

That is awesome Emily!!!!

I wonder how many I can do now, I did 14 on my toes during the fitness test.

I also feel bulkier in the push phase, I am hoping this will change too. Emily, we are on the same workout schedule, I start the lean phase on Saturday too.

I heard about CLX+ -- supposedly they've started filming already? Never heard about Turbo Fire, but so glad -- I love Turbo Jam!

CLX is really superb, IMO -- the first rotation that's kept me going on track for this long.
