Hi everyone!

So glad I found this thread! I love Turbo Jam, so I just had to get this when it came out.

I'm in Week 3 of the Burn phase, and so far I'm totally enchanted with this workout! I've never stuck with a routine this well for this long.

I've pushed my weights up in the past few weeks -- I've gone from 5/7/10/15 to 10/12/15/20. I also added a 10 pound weight belt, because the weight I could handle for upper body moves wasn't enough to challenge my lower body on those combos. Whoooo-eee!

At first, my weight went up a few pounds and stuck -- really frustrating when you're working so hard! It's come down a couple of pounds now. My measurements haven't changed much, I'm sad to say, but I'm just sticking with it.

Like Chalene says, "See you TOMORROW!"

Is anyone using a bar instead of dumbbells? I get frustrated because, except for curls, I can't lift very heavy, and I can squat/deadlift a heck of a lot more than I can fly/raise. I feel like my lower body muscles aren't getting a good workout at all if I go light.

Did you see my post just above? I started using a weight belt for this exact reason -- lets me use weights I can handle for my arms/back, but lets me challenge the squats/deadlifts/lunges. For the Push phase, I'll use a weighted vest, but because there is so much leaning over in a lunch position in the Burn phase, I think that would be pretty hard on the back -- a belt sits lower and doesn't add back stress.

Hi Porfatrules!

I never thought of a weighted belt - I'm going to have to see where I can get one. I too can lift a lot with my lower body. I am in week two of the push phase - I really like it. I am hoping to see major results at the end of 90 days, but I know I am getting a lot stronger. I finally mastered a few of the push ups by now!

I missed it! That's probably a better idea. Thanks!

I just do not like Burn Intervals and I've been procrastinating because I don't have an appropriate substitute yet and ... I just don't like it.

BUT I will just suck it up and go do it because missing a workout is not an option.

Happy Wednesday!

I don't like them either. I'd rather do Jillian's cardio kickbox.

I have to agree, I have no trouble doing the weight circuits! However, Chalean gets me going in no time, I am very proud when it's over! Today I did the burn intervals and extreme abs since I had time. I am going to try to get some turbo jam cds since I like Chalean so much.

Yesterday was my Burn Interval day...got love to hate it Extreme Abs is totally kicking my butt too but in a good way. The weighted belt is a great idea, I will be looking for one this weekend. My upper body isn't strong enough to hold the weights I need for lower body. My arms fail long before my legs do.

WTG ladies, we doing awesome

Well, yeah. She is all fun and games in TJ., Gurlfriend is all business in CLX. Funny, friendly and warm but she is not playing around.

Burn intervals wasn't so bad today.

P90X arrived ... Lordy, I am afraid to open it.

Burn intervals - how about those modified burpees? I cannot do those right LOL

I should probably re-read this thread, but is anyone doing additional ab work? I can't even get through Ab Burner without curling into a ball, sucking my thumb, and crying for my Mommy. I wonder if I should throw in Ab Jam after some of the Burn Circuits.

My abs are the worst -- two c-sections here, and I can barely get my shoulders off the floor during a crunch. The ab stuff is killing me, too . . .

I really think I need to do one of the ab workouts every other day, just to build some strength there.

Becky, I hated on those burbees but I them now. Go figure.

And what is up with my elbow?? There is a stabbing pain in my elbow and I had to buy an Icy Hot sleeve this morning.

I think I may have pulled something.

Dammit.

Hi everyone - I've been following this thread for the past...11 days now, and I finally joined the boards so that I could thank you all for your enthusiasm and ideas here! I'm on my second week of Burn - about to do Burn Circuit 3, actually. I've been doing TJ workouts since 2006, and I'd been looking at the P90 series for a while, but the workout lengths on that one had me hesitant. Now, I know why I was waiting - I just need CLX!

The weighted belt is a great idea, BTW - esp. for some of the lunges and squats combos, I can handle a lot more in my lower body than my arms and shoulders can manage! I think another trip to the store is in order...

I now have P90x but I'm starting to rethink it. Inatic (you should do a search and take a look at her before and after photos. She is a rock star. ) gave me some suggestions and she also posted a couple of books, one of which I purchased last night and I it!

I've always loved Miss Chalene and this program is really good. I'm anxious to move on to more challenging moves and I'm going to pick up heavier weights this weekend.

I can handle a lot on my lower body.

Although, I may have gone too heavy on the tricep curls because my elbow is screaming right now.

LadyB,
Can you post a link to something of Inatic? I cannot figure out how to search for the threads? Why are you rethinking P90X?

Lawn Care the 'natural way' ??

Click on the link in her siggy ... her picture journey. Unreal. She is in her 40s and has 5 kids. Yes, she admits to having her tummy tightened but the abs are pure muscle. She earned every bit of definition on that rock star bod.

I'll post about my P90x reservations when I get home.

Depends what you want. He has a price for just nutrition, just weights or both. All require a 3 month commitment.

In just the few e-mail exchanges I've had with Erik, I will tell you he is a no hand-holding, no-nonsense, no-holds barred coach.

Suck it up or stay fat, that's his thing.

I've learned a lot just from his board, but I don't apply it. I don't think I'd apply it if I paid for it either, so I don't bother LOL

Finished workout. Weights very light today - it was actually ok. No pain ... yet. But I just cannot miss a workout unless I have to. Once you miss one ...

I'm doing push circuit 3 today. I cannot quit eating, I am soooo mad at myself...... I ate the kids monkey munch yesterday and had wine. I don't know why I am sabotaging myself. I'm really craving sweets. As for the wine, it's just comfort at night I guess - habit. I guess sometimes I think, "well I bust my butt doing more than most women I know, I should be able to eat what I want....in moderation." But I cannot seem to lose these last 10 lbs.

I don't know you at all so I'm loathe to dispense tough love; however, since you are busting your arse every day you know that moderation is not in the same league as taking care of a craving.

The last 10lbs are the hardest, most frustrating, teeth gnashing thing to lose. I am where you are in the last 10lbs.

If you had more to lose, you could probably ease in whatever foods you want "in moderation" but when you're on the last 10lbs, you can't. There is no easy, sweet way to say it: you have to suck it up and take the hard stance with yourself. You are not going to lose the last 10lbs if you don't cut out the "extras." The wine at night, the kids lunches, the whole mindset of you deserve it.

There is no "moderation" during the last 10lb battle. Nothing fair about it. This is where you have to have tunnel vision and be strict with yourself. If you don't, you will be here in 20 years still about the last 10lbs.

I know. I'm still here after 6 years about that last 10lbs. But this time, I'm taking no prisoners.

C'mon. Let's be really strong together.

I know, I know, thank you Lady for taking the time to listen. I hit my goal weight of 141 in 2004. I maintained it every year until last year. I had a really emotionally hard year in dealing with extended family, lost my job with my family, DH started new job and hated it, HATED it. So I started a refocus on 1/5/09. I was 161 and went down to 154 rather easily, but am stalled there. I started on synthroid two weeks ago. I don't think my dosage is enough - I'm only at 50mg. I will get tested in two weeks and may ask to go on Armour from things I've read here. I can blame 50% on thryoid, but I know my hand-to-mouth disease. Again, thank you for letting me grip

I've been hungrier this week (my second of Burn) - does the hunger get worse in the Push phase?
