I completed my Sunday workout (Burn Circuit 2) using my new weights and was able to go heavier, but when I tried to match Chalene by using 25's, I only made it to 10 reps.

I always start out the push ups on my toes, but don't think I go down low enough, so I finish off on my knees.

Does anyone do toe push ups?

Yes I felt the same way I seemed so uncorrdinated for the 1st 2 weeks, I am on my 3rd week and did somewhat better, I will keep going and will probably do another round of the whole set. Keep working at it.

[COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"]I missed a couple workouts due to a small but much needed vacation. Thursday I walked a ton, Friday I did a little walking but not much, Saturday I did Push 2. So I am trying to get caught up tonight and will try to get Push 3 & Burn Intervals & Extreme Abs in to make up for resting Friday and Sunday. Then back on schedule to start Lean

Kbragg ~ you look awesome! I can't wait to get to Lean, even though I am going to be in the "bumbling idiot" club Just realized that is Wednesday.

Angie ~ I am a toe pushup gal. I just keep telling myself..I can do this...one more on the toes and then somehow I am miraculously done. Chalene is right you can talk yourself into just about anything.

Pushing 40 ~ I have heard, but don't quote me , that when you get sore your muscles retain water that is needed for repair. If you have hit a plateau maybe try a different diet for a couple weeks and see where that takes you.

I start off in the correct position, but going down, I find that I cannot bend my elbows enough in order to lower my body enough. Know what I mean? Do you think that I will eventually be able to lower my chest enough? TIA

Today was my weigh in for the completion of week 10 and here are my results!

Scale Weight Lost: 2.2lbs
FAT Loss: 3.62lbs
Lean Body Mass GAIN: 1.42lbs
Body Fat Lost: 1.94%
Inch Loss: 2.5inches

I am soooo hype right now! Oh and to the haters out there who say you can't safely lose more than 2lbs of fat per week without losing muscle and double to the haters that say Atkins causes muscle loss and you can't work out hard while on it. I know that there are no haters on this forum lol I'm just feeling bold

My goal is to hit 150lbs by the end of week 12. That will put me at my lowest weight in seven years (technically 153 will put me there but I need a round number) To hit this goal I need to lose approx 2.8lbs this week and next week. It's a little aggressive but I believe I can do it! Well off to do Lean Circuit 1!

[COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"]So I ended up doing my last Push 3 and Fat Blaster...note to self, do the cardio first...whew... Tonight is Burn it Off and Extreme Abs (need abs everyday) I need to buy 25lb dumbells for this last 4 weeks. Starting Lean tomorrow!

Angie ~ Are your arms far enough away from your body? Mine are about the same as when I do the chest flies but I think you have to find where you are the strongest. If mine are to close I can't do them and of course too far away would be insane

Purrgirl ~ Good luck, you will love these workouts, quick and to the point!

kbragg ~ Way to go on your stats! I will be taking my measurements to see how I have done, my weight is the same but my body is definately changing.

PixieKGirl ~ You are going to be so strong you won't believe it. I started with 15's, had to get 20's for Push and now I need 25's for Lean! Believe that you are strong and can do it! Your own mental encouragement will take you far in these workouts!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Cat,
I never thought about moving my arms out wider....I'll have to try that.

The tricep push ups are even worse for me!

I completed the last Burn Circuit 3 today. Felt weaker because it was also day one of TOM. Burn if Off tomorrow, then I start the Push phase on Friday...can't wait....or can I?

Hey everyone! I AM BACK IN THE GAME! Can't wait to get back into my CLX workouts.

The move was looong and I'm tired but finally have it all together and have to time to work out and get back on track. My weights (and shoes!) are still at our old place, DF is going there tonight to pick them up so I can start working out again tomorrow.

Quick poll though:
I was able to complete 3 solid weeks of Burn before I had to stop about 3 weeks ago. Should I start over at the beginning or do another week of Burn and move on to Push?
I am thinking I'll do 2 full weeks of Burn and then jump into Push. I haven't been lifting weights for the last 3 weeks but I've been pretty active - painting, moving, lifting, etc every dang day.

Welcome back Lindsey! I just dropped in to say that even though this phase isn't as heavy in the lower body moves as the Push Phase my glutes are SOOOOOORE today! I miss the Bowler's Lunges though I've decided that next month I am going to do the Lean For Life Phase but layer a heavy lower body circuit on the Burn & Lean days. I'm very close to goal so I'm going to turn my focus more toward building up muscle particularly in the hips and glutes to add a bit more proportion to my upper body. I figure I'll burn off the last 10lbs of fat just from the aerobic effect of the circuit and the increased muscle mass

[COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"]Great to see you back Lindsey!

Angie ~ I have a hard time with the tricep pushups...they are just awkward. You won't see any of them in Push but maybe some in Lean.

KBragg ~ I am planning on doing Lean for Life phase but adding more cardio to really burn the fat...never thought about adding more weight.

I completed Burn Intervals and Extreme Abs and will do two more days of cardio before I start Lean 1 on Friday

I've completed day 3 on my 90 day CLX personal challenge ( day 2 I did a Cathe cardio tape). So yesterday's circuit 2 was intense! I can't believe how much I sweat going so slow! I am not able to do a real pushup yet but I hope by the time I am done, in 90 days I can do at least a couple! I have a softball game tonight and the dentist this afternoon so I will not be able to do the abs and intervals, oh well, hopefully I'll burn something in my game tonight. So far, I love CLX!

Congrats on getting started. I'm sure you'll love it.

I completed my first month and the time flew by.

I love Cathe cardio as well....I did Kick, Punch & Crunch this morning instead of taking a rest day before starting the Push Circuits tomorrow.

You'll get there on the push ups. I *think* I can do a couple of toe push ups in ok form, but I do most on my knees (especially the extreme ones).

I have a question--I'm considering this program--I have an ankle condition so I can't do a lot of fast movements/jumping/running in place, etc. Is this something that I'd still be able to do?

Everything is modifiable. The weight workouts you should have no problems with, there is no jumping around. The cardio workouts have a lot of this though, but again all modifiable.

When they are doing plyo/jumping, you can do a modified version with no jumping or something else entirely. You could also swap out the cardio that comes with this program for cardio you have an easire time with.

I'm more interested in the weights than the cardio--I have a cardio program that I can currently do. I'm sure this has been asked/answered before, but for a relative newbie, what size weights do most people start with? Also, when you finish the program, do you just repeat it with heavier weights or move on to a different program?

I'm sure more people will jump in here, but honestly I started some exercises with 5 lb weights. Pretty weak! That is for arm stuff. For squats, I started with about 15 lbs.

For the first phase, exercises are done in a 10-12 rep range, so you pick a weight that causes you to fail by the 12th rep. The program is 3 months, with 3 1-month phases. Once you finish the 3 months, you can do whatever you want: another rotation, or you could mix it up and do different workouts form different phases. You always push to live heavier weights though. Even with only 3 weeks complete, my 5 pounders are now paper weights

Hello all, I finished the Burn phase on Saturday and will do my first Push workout when I get off of here but I have a question. My arms are pretty lean and now it seems that my veins are really sticking out in my lower arms. Anyone else have this happen. I think it looks pretty gross. This happened to my DH when he started lifting again but he is a guy. I don't want to stop but I really don't want to have bulging veins. Any comments or suggestions?

After 30 days some definition in my arms which a friend noticed and maybe 1/4 inch lost each thigh (depends on when I measure) not thrilled with the results but I am pretty small to begin with. Still hoping for more improvement in the legs (my weak area).

Thanks for any input.

pushing 40: The vein popping is just increased circulation to the muscles. It's a positive thing and really is only visible when you are pumped unless you are super lean to the point where you can see muscle striations. If that's the case you may want to consider maintaining as Chalene says in the motivational CD. That's what I did. I'm in my final week of Lean and have maintained 10lbs (actually 13'5lbs since the dumbbell handles weight 3.5lbs each) on my bivep and shoulder moves and 8lbs on the triceps and my arms are looking great. It's still a challenging weight but not pushing to failure.

Also I appologize for not remembering but is your goal fat loss or muscle gain?

The legs are my weak area too. I'm trying to build some meat down there but gotta get rid of this belly first! I've been using It Works wraps and they are really helping tighten the abdomen up.

Starting my second week of CLX...Geez, she has kicked my butt! I feel good though, I like the program and am sweating a ton! I am keeping my carbs around 30-40 daily, but am definitely more hungry as of late. I have one free meal per week, and went to the casino buffet last night...oh man! Good times!
So far so good!
