You would need 2. Most of the exercises are bilateral, but there are a few that you just use one at a time, but very few. Good luck with your program; you will love it!!! Ask any questions. We're here to help!!!!!

The first phase (burn phase) is more lower carb; good carbs versus garbage. I have done most of the program lower carb, but just added more calories in the push and lean phase, since you are really working hard and using very heavy weights. I tend to keep my calories at about 1600 or so in burn and at about 17-1800 in push and lean. HTH!!!!

Just finished Fat Burn Challenge, I didn't much like it any better than Burn It Off. I think I'm gonna leave it out of my rotation for a while and to TJ Fat Blaster instead.

Completed Push 1 last night. I liked it but I definately need to get 25's for the squats, my legs don't feel a thing today. I feel it a lot in my biceps and triceps. I can't do those stupid side lift biceps, my arms just cave. I wanted to report that I did lose about 6 inches all over during the last month.

good for you on the loss. Do you find that the weights are pretty heavy to hold when you are doing lunges, I find the 20 pound ones hurt in my elbow when I am done.

Chrystee, you don't have to follow the nutrition plan. They are some good guidelines. For me, I am trying to get about 100g protein everyday (protein shake + meat), some nuts, lots of green vegetables. That's the plan anyways!

I just did Burn 2, and had to swap out the weights on the rowing exercises for a resistance band. My lower back hurts too much when I do it with any kind of heavy weight. I really try to keep my form, and keep my tailbone up but I have had a lot of lower back problems in the past. I think the muscles are very weak, tight, and have little endurance. Let's see what I can do at the end of the Burn phase!
Anybody else experience this?

Yesterday was supposed to be a rest day but we had a birthday celebration at work , so can you day hog to the trough
So last night, I did Cardio Party 2 and then Fat Blaster. Cheating on food and trying to burn it up just isn't worth it. Better to stick with good choices and not have to bust out a killer workout to compensate.

northernstar ~ I feel incredible and strong, especially when I'm not sore. Try to really tighten your tummy and it should relieve some of the discomfort in your lower back. I think all the muscles are connected from front to back, so a stronger front will help with the weaker back.

jabbok ~ My elbows don't really ever hurt or ache. Try resting your weights on your thighs until the very last second before you begin. Maybe it will help them not get so sore.

Chrystee ~ There are tons of plans on this board, you really just have to try and find one that you can do and live with and that is something you have to decide. I can live without veggies and fruit but others can't, so my foods of choice tends not to include too much of these because I don't ever miss them or want them. Overall low glycemic choices I think are the best ones to choose.

Ugh.. I just haven't had to really think about it in so long. Part of why I loved Nutrisystem, but I am tired of eating nutrisystem, and trying to eat a little better without chemicals, preservatives, etc.

However, when I don't have a solid plan written out with everything I'm going to eat, I tend to not be as firm in my eating.

So higher protein, lower carb, and I guess around 1600 calories? I am at 287 right now. I really want to lose some major weight for November.

WOW! That is awesome! I'm definitely gonna take my measurements.

I started with Burn Circuit 1 today. The lunges with the rainbow twist (I think that's what she called them) were the toughest for me.

I start jury duty on Monday and am hoping to keep my focus by working out before I go.

I did Burn It Off this morning, but didn't get to Recharge. I think I will do it on my rest day. Does everybody here do recharge? It seems like yoga to me and I am not a yoga person. I feel good to have the first week done- except Recharge. I am the most sore I have EVER been in my life. Stairs are a killer for me LOL! I need to go sit in a hot tub

Chrystee - I eat everything in sight. Like Cat said, just do whatever eating plan you like. Don't worry about Chalene's. I do moderate carb, higher protein, usually 1500-1800 calories.

I have one week of Lean left and I'm frustrated. I'm making progress everywhere except the deltoids. I just can't seem to get past 5 pounds with those suckers.

Hi all, I've been lurking on this thread for a bit and have just a couple of questions regarding the Chalean Extreme program....first, I found a source that will sell me Chalean Extreme System that includes:
7 DVD's
Muscle Burns Fat guidebook
Fat Burning Food Guide
Healthy Eats and Kitchen makeover DVD

But does not include:

No thigh toner band
No bodyfat tester
No extreme motivation CD

It's alot cheaper but I was wondering if the program is still mostly complete without those missing items and do-able....is there more I should be looking for?
Also, my space is so limited at home that I cannot buy the p90x so I thought this might work, does this take alot of room to work out in? Sorry for the long post, any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, if you can get a good price for that I think it is worth it.

The bodyfat tester is just calipers, they are not all that accurate anyways and you can buy it at a sporting goods store, same with the thigh toner. I am borrowing the DVDs from a friend, so I went out and got my own "thigh toner" which is just a pilates stretch band. I think $8 for 3 at Wal-Mart. You can do all the workouts without it though, it's just an extra.

I like the CD and put it on my iPod, but like I said if you are getting a good deal on that set I say go for it!

You need one for each arm on a lot of the exercises. A few use just one weight.

You will have all the DVDs. Do you know if this is a bootleg copy?

You don't need a lot of space to work out which is great. There's no travelling around the room, even with the cardio! You could probably do it in a prison cell

Northernstar how did you know I am serving time?....KIDDING!! But you wouldnt know it considering the size of my tiny house and even tinier living room, it's about prison cell size! I dont think it's a bootleg, I am getting it online from a discount retailer that sells alot of other stuff...but I will ask when I call, you can bet on it!!
Ok, thanks for the info and help!!!

I've just got a small living room in my apartment and next week we are moving to a house, living room still tiny! I don't have a ton of room either but I just move the coffee table and get to work. It's a great program!

I have a small area too, and the only real thing I have problems with is when she has you take two leaps to the sides in the cardio videos.

I'm baaaaack!

Hey ladies, know I've been gone for like ever but here's an update. I made it to week 7 the first time and then stopped. I was feeling really really badly and needed a cleanse. Did the Master Cleanse and it was what I needed. Reset my metabolism and got thisgs moving again. I start the final week of PUSH on Monday. I have lost 12 pounds, loads of inches and a couple of dress sizes so far. I'm lowering my carbs again. I was eating high carb for a while but now I'm starting to have that "out of control" insulin response

Anyway here are my day 1 and day 30 pics so far:

My favorite thing about the program is I'm losing in all the places I need but still maintaining my curves! Actually my booty looks better than ever! Higher, tighter, and BIGGER but not flabby but sexy (like Bethany's). Anyway look forward to posting.

Oh before I forget, if anyone else has trouble with their arms failing before their back or leg muscles, I use weight lifting hooks ($9.99 on Amazon). These things are a lifesaver! Guys don't tend to like them as they take the pressure off the forearms but since I figure most of use ladies aren't trying to build up our forearms we'l be all good

Oh I have a youtube channel too. Just type in youtube.com/kbragg and you can giggle at me doing some of the workouts

Hey Kassandra! You're looking great. You can really tell a difference in your waist, especially from the side.

I just got back from GNC, I got some good protein powder to use after my workouts. With doing them in the morning, this will also count as breakfast which I am horrible for skipping.
