I just started last week

Just finished Burn 3, bright and early! This is the first of the morning workouts I've been talking about forever. Feels great to get it out of the way.

Angie,
Just start the cardio sessions more low impact till you see how difficult it is for you. The intervals are very quick, but quite intense if you are doing them correctly which is also important. You will be able to increase your intensity very quickly,so take it easy for the first time or 2 and then ramp it up!!
Good luck!

I love to do my Chalean workouts in the AM too! Then, I run in the late afternoon. I prefer to get the strength training done earlier; I think it helps rev my metabolism for the whole day and I feel better too!

Had to do Burn 3 and Extreme Abs yesterday, I ran out of time on Friday for the Abs and ran out of time on Saturday to do Burn 3. Last Burn 3 and I think I pulled a butt muscle .
Tonight: Burn it Off and Recharge and/or Abs? then on to Push

Susan: I tried to drag my butt out of bed this morning to get another workout in, but I just couldn't do it. I would love to do a 20 min cardio first thing in the AM. I cardio.

Northernstar: Burn Intervals completely wipes me out too! But I give all I have and that is all that she asks for!

Good luck to everyone today...have a great workout!

Wahoo!

The heaviest I lift right now is 12 lbs, and that is enough to get me to failure (and that's only on a few exercises!)

started week three of push, getting stronger. I didn't take any measurements and now I wished I had as I am pretty sure my legs are starting to lean out as my pants seemed to be looser in the legs today.

It is nice to see more people enjoying the workouts.

Did you guys do the last two days of Burn? I think the calendar has two days of cardio listed then a rest day than you begin Push. I am just curious if you did that or just did one than went right into Push. I might do Cardio Party and some ab workout instead of the one listed, or just go right to Push 1, not sure yet.

I am so ready to get going on Push. I haven't lost much weight but I am pretty sure I have lost inches, I guess on the tape measure will tell me tomorrow.

I took a couple of days off as I wanted to start push circuit one on a Sunday so that I do my weights on Sunday, Tues. and Thurs and cardio on Mon. and Wed. I try to take off 2 days in a row. I am already into my 3rd week of push it just seems to go by so fast.

Thanks ~ I will look to see what is going to work best for me and then go from there. I suppose I will just hit the cardio if I wait to start Push.

Cat, I think you should be able to jump right into Push if you are feeling it. Otherwise, maybe take a couple extra days of rest to get ready for it.

I am heading into my 2nd week of Burn, I am loving this. I love Chalene, she is the perfect instructor. I really like TJ as well, but she is so awesome in this. I am soo sore today from doing Burn 3 yesterday.

I couldn't get my bum out of bed this morning to do Burn Intervals, so I'll try to get it in when I get home.

I'm not doing it as a 90-day program, but rather as a 12-week program, which is 84 days. No extra rest between phases.

Same here! Actually this is my second stint! I don't even look at the calendar anymore. Here is my week, every week:

M- Circuit 1 (currently Burn phase)
T- Lean/Burn it off intervals
W- Circuit 2
H-off
F-Burn it off/recharge or other cardio
S-Circuit 3

For the Lean phase I did have to change circuits around because of all the shoulder work.

Chrystee,

I think you'll be fine for most of the upper body exercises with those weights, especially if you're just getting started.

I have a rack ranging from 5 to 30 pounds, and two sets of microloading magnetic plates (PlateMates), which help me bridge the gap between the larger dumbbells.

Chrystee - you'll be fine with those. I don't much go over 12 lbs - that gets me to failure.

When you start with the burn phase, you need to pick a weight that will get you to failure between 10 and 12 reps. It takes some experimenting, but if you get to the 12th rep and feel like you could do more, you need to pick a heavier weight. If you fail before the 10th rep, you need to pick a lighter weight.

Just did Burn 1 again, it actually feels pretty good to workout in the morning. I'm feelin pretty energized.

My DVDs arrived yesterday, but I'm fighting a terrible cold and don't plan on doing the fitness test until I feel completely better and will plan on starting after that.

I ended up doing TJ Cardio Party last night and am going to start Push tonight. I didn't know that you were supposed to take a break, I really hadn't planned on it. I don't read instructions well

I think I will stick close to Jabbok with the following schedule:

Wed: Circuit 1
Thurs: Burn Intervals & Abs
Fri: Circuit 2
Sat: Burn it up and Abs
Sun: Rest
Mon: Circuit 3
Tues: Cardio & Recharge

I don't read directions well either as I havent' done the fitness test and didn't do any measurements. I also have to start doing the abs which I haven't started as I usually am short on time so I have only been doing the cardio portion.

Your schedule looks good, you are only taking one day off? I try to get an extra cardio in but haven't been able to for awhile.

I try to do abs at least three times a week - even if its ab burner which is only about 10 minutes.

I can't stand to take two days off, I'm sort of nuts I do cardio on that "rest" day.

I am thinking about adding an ab routine on my circuit days, I just feel like I need the extra workout for my abs, as I am an apple-shaped gal

I don't like to take 2 days off but by the end of the week my weekend is full with running around, house cleaning etc. so I get a work workout which is not as fun as Chalean.

I totally lied. Each weight goes up to 25 pounds. 12.5 pounds on each side, Duh! Each little disk is 2.5 pounds. So cool.

I did Burn 1 this morning. Pretty cool! It was quick too. I pretty much did like 5 pounds for the arm exercises, and 10 on the bottom ones, like the lift and stuff. I could have probably done a little harder, next time I'll do 7.5 and 12.5. I was working out pretty well with a trainer twice a week for a few months, and this past month I've not exercised at all.

Anyway.. Is anyone following the meal plans?

I found some pdf files that are better for tracking the weights/reps on the exercises than the guidebook.

Question about weights

hello, I order these DVD's and am expecting them any day now. I also am probally going to by the weights at Target for now. Do I need two sets one for each arm or do you do them one at a time.

Thanks for the info.
