Did Fat Blaster (extra workout on one of the DVD's) last night... I enjoyed it but in the end I wish it was one more interval longer though The cool down seemed really really long and I would have prefered to do another interval instead of the large cooldown!!!

Last Burn 2 tonight.

Hello Ladies, I think I am going to order this series today. I have been doing primarily Hip Hop Abs and throwing in some Turbo Jam here and there for over a year. I think I have transformed my body as much as I can with cardio and light strength training. My trouble areas are my thighs and hips and am wondering if any of you could tell me if this was your trouble area and how Chalean Extreme worked at making you more lean in these areas. Thanks in advance for sharing.

I am working my way through reading this whole thread whew - a lot to read

Just did Burn Intervals & Ab Burner. WOW! Again, Chalene totally knocked me on my butt.

I am switching up the circuit a bit for scheduling reasons. Do you think doing 5 days in a row and then having 2 rest days would be ok? Just works out better for me to work out Monday-Friday and then maybe doing what I can on the weekends, especially over the next few weeks (getting ready to move).

Have you guys seen the video for the new Beachbody workout, Insanity, with Shaun T? It will be out this summer. Before doing ChaLean Extreme, I never would have considered this.

Wow!! I don't think I could even do that now. Maybe after 3 months of ChaLean though!

.... not likely

Hello Pushing 40!! (Me too .... I'll be 38 next month). Anyway, I'm a hippo - that is I gain my weight all down low. Yes, it does tighten you up - everywhere. I think above I even whined about not enough lower body in the lean phase ( it is a lot of arms), but I am on my second round of CLX and in the burn phase - my legs hurt every single time. I increased my weights by at least 5 lbs this time too. I used to run a lot, and I think I needed to strength train and I fell in love with it!!

I say 5 days is a row is better than none at all! I may have to do something like that soon here to. Do whatever works for you so long as you work out - JMHO!

Completed Burn 2 last night...boy were my muscles spent. LOVE IT! Can't wait until I can start the next phase.

pushing 40...I hadn't really thought about it but I am pushing 40 too! I will be 39 on the 30th of this month. These workouts tone you up everywhere, but like 3tikes, I would agree it is a lot more upper body. I think probably because it makes our lower half at least look thinner if it isn't there yet, but I really want to lose those stinkin saddle bags!!!

Northernstar...going to have to get INSANITY too! Looks way awesome and I think I could even get my kids to do it to. Since there is no weights it would be perfect for my teenage boys to keep agile for sports. As far as five days in a row, I don't think it would matter, but you will be surprised how fast the workouts go. I wondered if I would be able to get it in on Saturday too, but you will find you enjoy it so much you will find the time.

I think the 5 days in a row will just have to work for now. We're moving to new house in a few weeks and weekends will be pretty jammed with packing, cleaning, shopping, painting, etc. Oh the joys of moving!!

Just did Burn 2. I will be sore tomorrow!

I've been thinking about ordering this program but I am pushing 60. Do you think it's too intense for someone my age?

I've done weights off and on over the years but I now have a little arthritis in my hands and knees. I have some of the Cathe DVD's and use them some but I really want to try Chalean.

It is pretty intense but I would never say it's too intense for anyone's age. There are low-impact options for every move. There is one girl in each workout who demonstrates them, so it's very easy to adapt your workouts.

As far as your arthritis, I have no idea how this would affect it. This program is all about lifting heavy weights, so maybe check with your doc first.

All that said, I am in the 260s and quite out of shape. I really push myself to keep up with the workouts and I am drenched in sweat afterwards. Anyone can do it! Like Chalene says, make it work for you... but make it tough!

Just finished Burn It Off.... I hate it! I felt like I could not keep at all, but I feel a bit more tired today. Maybe I need to take a rest day.

Northernstar- It took me a few weeks to be able to do burn it off. Sometimes if I don't eat enough carbs, I have trouble finishing it. Now for breakfast I eat one mini whole wheat bagel with eggs and meat.

CopperTop - Donna is in the video and she is 60! She does some of the modified moves as does Laylee and Julie. There are modifications in every single move. I as well am not sure about the arthritis, but you could use bands which may make moving smoother.

Sorry to hear you didn't like it, was it the moves you found difficult or just not the strength to finish?

I know when I first did this workout I was absolutely exhausted and also couldn't keep up but just kept doing it and now I can keep up but I am still exhausted when I am finish.

I think as long as you have your doctor's okay you would be able to do the workouts as there are a couple of people who are doing the modified version and one of the ladies is 60. Have you done any weights lately?

Thank you for replying to my questions, it seems like they are endless on these boards. I have to say sadly I am no longer "Pushing" but am now 40! All the more reason to get a Rockin' Bod. I ordered the DVD's yesterday so should be joining you ladies soon. I am a little bummed that it is more upper body because I really don't need any work there at all. Possibly build up strength but otherwise the only part of me in good shape. I am really looking forward to the more formal schedule to keep me motivated.

Thanks again!

I personally think you could go lighter and modify the exercises as shown in the workouts. I love this program and you would be surprized how strong you can get quickly! It is true; muscle does burn fat. I'm 45 and have had great results from many of the BB programs.....

Just did push 1 today, ouch but good. I was so proud to have done six good push-ups on my toes after all those triceps and biceps exercises and then did the extreams on my toes too.

I don't like the cardio workouts either. I can't follow along, like I have two left feet. I do HIIT/sprints and DDR as well as yoga instead of those videos.

I did Burn 3 today. I totally kicked some serious arse.

I have to say that every time I do the cardio workouts, I feel like the hippo from Fantasia. But they do get my heart pumping, so they must be doing something good for me.

That makes me feel a bit better. I could not keep up at all. Burn Intervals is also really tough, but I like the shorter bursts of intensity with more recovery periods. Maybe I will swap it out for TJ Fat Blaster until I am in better shape.

I think I did 3 of the exercises and then tried to catch my breath for the rest of the workout

At least you are putting in the effort!!! You will get stronger every week. I personally love burn intervals; I get a real good sweat going and I often combine it with another of her TJ cardio workouts. I am trying to do 2 workouts a day, one in the AM and one in the PM. So far so good; it is challenging finding the time tho, but short and bathing suit season is coming!!!!

It took me a few weeks to be able to keep up with the cardio workouts. Then when I got caught up, I switched to the other set (Get Lean Intervals & Fat Burn Challenge) and had to get used to it all over again. After a month on those, they are still a challenge now and then. They aren't easy but I can hold my own with the burpees and plyometric planks at least.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I do have the deluxe DVD so maybe I'll try Fat Burn Challenge next time to see if I like the moved better.

Susan - Wow you are doing 2 workouts a day?! You are my hero

You can do it low impact but it's high intensity! Everything is modifiable, that's what is great about the program.
