four4dinner ~ you are going to it. I will stick with this program indefinately... along with my other TJ videos. I Chalene, she really keeps me motivated.Did Burn 1 last night and I really need to get 20 pounders for the squat exercises. I need to feel a little bit more soreness in my hammies & tush ![]() Doing TJ Cardio Party 2 tonight, instead of a rest day. All right Porkfat, what do you carry around to eat? Everything I think of just doesn't seem to be portable. I did look at some vanilla almonds that didn't have a ton of carbs in them, they look scrumptious. |

Cat - I keep plain almonds in the car at all times - they don't melt! I do try to pack something up before I leave to run errands - cheese sticks (never had trouble with them melting either!) and cut up veggies - red pepper strips, celery. I know it's not hard - lately I just haven't been into it, but Sunday I started and have ate very clean since. I don't know what to do for Easter! We are having it here. I can usually skip all the kids treats, but I love dark chocolate - on the South Beach you can have it sparingly, so that's what I'll have. Maybe with some strawberries - yum. It's the side dishes that will hurt not having so I have to go find some I can!
Today is Burn 2 for me, yesterday I did Lean Intervals - I had to stop once because I was so tired in my arms.

Lean 1 today -- I tried pushing to 20s on the bicep work, but couldn't quite get through all 10. I ended up giving a little assist with the other hand in the hardest part of the lift on the last few. 15s are a little too easy -- 20s a little too hard.
You know who rocks? Bethany -- she does those gorgeous tricep pushups, and you can see her muscles rippling under her skin. So impressive! Donna's overacting bugs me, as usual (at least they took away her mike! LOL!) but on some of those, she looks like she's going into spontaneous orgasm. Cat, for food I usually carry some grilled boneless/skinless chicken thighs in a baggie, or some slices of steak, or a cooked/cooled cheeseburger. If I'm only out for a couple of hours, I just carry it as is -- if I'm going to be out for longer, or it's a really hot day, I stick it in a small cool-sack with a freezer pack. I do better with less nuts and cheese, although cheese sticks or Babybel cheeses are great and really portable, and TJ's has those great pre-measured "Just A Handful" packets of almonds or cashews. |

I am starting week four of burn and my friend said she wants to workout with me. I love the thought of a workout buddy but I am kind of excited to move on and see what kind of punishment Charlene is going to put me through in the next phase. But an extra month on burn couldn't hurt could it? Oh what to do....

Thats gotta be your call Pandora, for me personally, I like to work out on my own. My time, my space, my hair sticking up cause I just rolled outta bed. The program is set up for you to move on, but I honestly don't think it would hurt. Just my 2 cents.

My problem is that I can get to 12 reps with no problem using 15s (it's heavy, but I can do it) -- but I can't get to 10 with 20s. *insert SelectTech commercial here -- LOL!* I know some people get 1 or 2 pound wristbands to let them do in-between weights -- I'd do that if I weren't almost done. So, I'm experimenting with using 20s, with a little assist for the lift. Plus, in this one there are so many freakin' bicep exercises that it's hard to keep that part strong!

Completed Lean 2 today. My CLX days are winding down. I never thought I would use 30lbs ever, but now I am. I never thought I would be able to do push ups, but now I can. I've gained so much strength with this program. It's one of the best fitness purchases I've made. Those of you who are new to the program will love it. I have nothing but good things to say about the program.
Tomorrow Fat Burn Challenge Porkfat, I read your post about Donna while I was at work and I had to laugh out loud. What kills me, in one of the extreme sets, she's yelling, "one more Chalene" and then she hollers after the set is over. I just want to say overkill Donna, stop it. Kinda like how I felt about Skip in the beginning. His same red shirt also annoyed me but I've gotten over that. Bethany's body is something else. I look at her the entire time like I would look at Janelle in the burn circuit. I know I don't want to be as muscular as Bethany, but her body is amazing. |

![]() You gals just crack me up! I am still in Burn, so I will have to wait to experience Donna! So much to say...yesterday was my rest day...so I did TJ Cardio Party 2. Still it. Picked up 20lb dumbbells yesterday at Walmart, so I'm all set to do those vicious squats. Thanks everyone for the snack advise. Who would of thought of carrying a insulated lunch bag Weights on the wrist, another great idea! Why can't I think of those I think I have some collecting dust, so maybe I will pull them out just in case.3Tikes ~ You and me both...I don't think I could stand to have to look somewhat decent. I would have to put back on a big T-shirt However Pandora, I really Burn, so I could do it another month. Poopiedo~ Congrats on all your success! I haven't seen Bethany, but I just love Janelle's bod. |

I decided that an extra month of burn won't hurt. A workout buddy will help me i think.
On anther note.My weight was going down then I did have a slip up with my diet last week. Got back on the wagon. But my weight is going up instead of down a week later. Measurments are the same. I am definatly working this program real hard. I lift as heavy as I can, I am doing HIIT 1 to 2 times a week. Cardio 1 time a week. Walking cleaning the yard, dong a lot of stuff. |

I still love Burn and would do another one if I needed the motivation and a workout buddy would help! Have fun
![]() Did Burn 2 with the 20's and got failure on a couple of exercises I hadn't failed on yet. I am just the awesome bit of sore that I love. I did find that my forearms did fail before my biceps did, so I tried to squeeze my biceps more so they would feel better but I was too late. Next time I will really focus on the biceps and squeezing realy hard so that the forearms don't get more work. Can't wait for the next workout!!! I still can't get over my motivation but I am thrilled |

I did Burn 2 the other day - I was able to use 20's, but I honestly don't know if I could in Lean. We will see how push goes - I just restarted the program so I have a ways to go. With the 20's, I failed at 10.
Pleaides - my deltoids suck too - we'll get them there! Pandora - I know sometimes when I cheat, it takes a week or so to get it off - I don't know why my body is like that, my friend could cheat and go back to being good and she'll drop 5 lbs. I will drop it, but not that first week!! Don't even bother with the scale until next week. |

Thanks 3tikes, I totally overlooked that I started a CLA/GLA supplement. I think it is working against me. I read it was supposed to help lose weight, but today I was looking into it and it can cause weight gain in some. weird. I am totally a victim of too much information. I got to keep it simple.

I finished week one of push yesterday and did burn intervals today, it was a really good workout. I wanted to buy either a weighted vest or a weighted belt but the place I went to only had a 10 pound vest and the guy didn't think it was worth buying he suggested the 40 pound vest which they didn't have in stock, he thought the cost was about $240.00 I didn't realize they were that expensive so I am going to look somewhere else.

What about using a backpack with weights in it, or just heavy stuff (like books)? I think I might go that route because I am tired of buying equipment.

You know that may be the way to go as the vests are very expensive, I am going to look at used. I found that carrying the 20 pound weights in each hand for some of the squats made my elbows hurt.

weight vest for cheap
I was cleaning up, putting some winter stuff away and I have this old winter vest. It was one of those puffy type with the filling inside. I am going to either pin the ankle weights to it or maybe make some pockets that will fit those little 2 1/2 pound weights in them. Maybe both. I bet the pockets on old jeans would work fine. Or I could fill freezer bags with sand, weigh them, and fill the lining with them. I'll let you know how it works out.

Iron Wear is a great brand -- I don't *think* the vest was $240, though! I got the Cool Vest, short version. For a while, a site called Allegro Medical had them on sale -- check to see if it still is. Cathe Freidrich also sells a vest from her site, and I've heard that you can also get it on Walmart's site? Not sure if this is right, but there may be sources that sell them for less. Good luck! For me, having a vest and/or belt has been a big help. |

Also question for the CLX users: The heaviest dumbbells I own are 10's and don't have the space or the $$ for heavier. Plus I have the bands. Is CLX doable with this? TIA |

Angie, thanks for finding this thread for me!
I just started this Wednesday. Today I do Burn 3. To answer your question, yes, you can do it with resistance bands. The other thing that you might consider is buying a pair of select-a-weight dumbbells. They take up the space of a single pair of big dumbbells, but you have a selection mechanism that allows you to vary the weight anywhere from 5-50 pounds, depending on the kind of weights you get. The two kinds I know of are Power Blocks, and SelecTech adjustable dumbbells from Bowflex. There are no legit downloadable versions of the program from BeachBody. There are some "free" torrent downloads, but they are seldom complete or reliable.
