I did YogaX tonight, girl it took EVERYTHING I had not to turn it off after the first 40 minutes. I stuck it out, watched the ones that were too hard to do and then did my best on the rest. It is painfully long.

Did my very first workout and loved it. Found out my weights were a little too light as I never fatigued once. I am going to have to get 12's and 20's today. I think I will end up with 7, 12 & 15 maybe 20 for squats. I am going to take my pictures tonight, take my measurements, and do the fitness test. I was too excited to do any of it last night. Can't wait to do the next workout, which I think is tomorrow.

Did anyone try the salad tong fat tester? I don't think I did mine right, any advise???

Good for you on your 1st workout, I actually look forward to my workouts because she is very easy to follow. I didn't use the salad tong tester I didn't think I was doing it right either.

Do you all follow the schedule that was included with the package? I ask because I did my first workout yesterday and I was surprised to find that today is a rest day. I felt like I could have worked out and saved my rest day for Friday when my afternoon/evening schedule is hectic, but I was hesitant to tweak the plan right away and decided to take the rest day.

I also don't want to take rest days on weekends.... those are the days when it is easiest to get a workout in! So, do any of you select your own two day/week rest schedule?

Murray - Definitely do what works for you, just try to keep the circuit workouts 1,2,3 apart. I used to do 1 on Monday and 2 on Tuesday, but you are supposed to do a day in between, here is what I do:

Su-off
M-1
T-burn intervals/abs
W-2
H-off
F-burn it off/recharge
Sa-3

In the lean phase, I do switch 2 and 1 workouts because there is a lot of shoulder work in both. Most importantly, do what works for you so you stick with it!!

I think that's why I can't consider P90X, I like the shorter workouts. I got especially spoiled in the push phase here. 45 minutes is my max. 35 is even better. I've been trying to do abs at night even if it's the 10 minutes one.
Me, too! I am not even looking forward to starting the Lean phase because the workouts are longer.

I do take one day off, on Sundays, but Tuesdays I do whatever cardio strikes me.

I usually take Friday and Sat. off they seem to work best with my schedule:

Sunday burn circuit 1
Monday burn intervals
Tues. burn circuit 2
Wed. burn it off
Thurs burn circuit 3

I will workout with cardio on Fridays if I can get home at a decent time. Just find out what works best for you and do it this way you won't get frustrated.

I am going to try using my 7's, 10's and 15's for one week and see what happens. I think that next month I might have to get the 20's, but I really will have to see. I have just straight dumbells, I have done The Firm workouts in the past so I have all sorts of dumbells. I don't think I will ever invest in the adjustable ones, unless my husband really wants them they are way too much money right now.

Murray ~ I am not happy there is a rest day today either, I am so excited, I could do 6 days out of 7 I think I will do Cardio Party.

I am just the tiniest bit of sore, my chest and my quads thats it. Sad that I want to feel it more. I must be insane bring on the pain

Cat,
Chalean says in one of the workouts that not all people get sore. Make sure you are failing by 12 though, also, I usually got more sore 36-48 hours after, so be careful what you wish for!!!

Did my second Lean workout (Lean 1 in the order I'm doing it) this morning -- wow, can you say "WT#^$%, ANOTHER BICEPS EXERCISE????"

What a start -- I was drinking some water, and in the beginning when Chalene walks out, she's wearing a gold lame top. I nearly snorted water out of my nose! This may be the winner of the outfits!!!

Anyway, great workout -- those planks with tricep rows are killer!

Murray -- lots of people rejigger the schedule to meet their own needs. In the Burn circuit, Burn 2 is tougher than Burn 1, so many people save a rest day for after Burn 2 instead. I started off doing:
Burn 1
Cardio
Burn 2
rest
Burn 3
cardio
rest

Later, I started doing three days of cardio, so I pretty much alternate weights and cardio for six days, and take one day off. And, I'm trying to get better about adding in abs work more often, since one day/week doesn't seem like enough (and my abs are the worst!).

Wed--2
Thur-Burn it off ( now it's Fat Burn Challenge)/I'm supposed to do recharge but I don't care for it.
Fri--3
Sat--Off

Ok not only was she wearing a gold top with pants trimmed in gold, but did you check the Wonder Woman bracelet? I have never put on my workout clothes, tied my shoelaces, and said oh wait, I need my big gold bracelet. Chalean is still my girl though, but I'm just saying.

Thanks for the scheduling advice, ladies! I'll get through this week as prescribed by Chalene and then tweak it to fit my needs.

I am so ready for my clothes to be falling off of me. I hope that this, combined with super clean eating and temporary breakup with red wine does the trick.

I really feel nothing today, but I am scared for tomorrow since everyone says Burn 2 is tougher. I still am going to give up the 5's. I am going to stick with 7,10,15's. I am doing all my pic's, test, and measurements tonight, then attack Burn 2.

poopiedo - too funny about the bracelet. Of course she doesn't really workout she is more training everyone so she can wear whatever she wants...what a stinker

murray6789 - I am going to try and keep her schedule this week, but will have to fix it for my schedule.

Hi Cat I found that some days I wasn't sore at all especially with burn circuit 1 but found when I did the burn intervals I was very sore as it is fast paced and also I couldn't finish some of the reps. I find that when I am doing the exercise my legs will get very weak from doing the squats and the lunges. You probably will only need the 5 pound weights when doing the burn intervals as you do a lot of reps and need a light weight.

Where is everybody today? Noone around to crack me up or what? I did burn it off/recharge today and for some reason, my hips are killing me? Especially where you leg connects to your torso - ouch? I don't know why. Tomorrow is my last lean workout, then I'm going to do turbo jam and some light cardio for a week and restart the program. My hormones came today so hopefully I'll be on track to burn some of this fat off and get some more muscle. I am going to take before pics this time too!

Just finished burn intervals and extreme abs...ouch! That just wasn't all that fun. I suppose if I wanted fun I would have stuck with Turbo Jam, but I don't want fun I want results I think I will just do Turbo Jam on my rest days or on a day the I just need something extra and fluffy I was very impressed with the bods in burn intervals, can't wait to find mine
Hope everyone had a great day!

Today was Lean 3. My arms and shoulders were so tired after I was done. I know I will be sore tomorrow. Two more weeks and my first round of Chalean will be complete. Do you all think I need a week of cardio, like a recovery week before moving on to P90x? I wanted to finish Chalean on a Friday and start P90x the following Monday.

YES!! You do need a recovery week, it is very important. During recovery week you should only do light cardio, yoga and stretching. During this week your muscles are repairing themselves from a 90 day relentless attack I started P90X today and I could not believe how strong I was, especially with the push ups. I also lost 3 pounds this week which was a total shocker.

Just finished Burn 2! Those bowler lunges were hard... I think we've found a spot that my Firm workouts did not hit.

I cannot believe that Donna is sixty! She looks awesome.

Off to take a slow jog in the gorgeous South African sunshine! Have a great day, everyone.

Morning, ladies! I finished my first week of Lean -- Lean 2 yesterday, and boy, are my shoulders SORE!

I am hating all the moves where you have to lift a leg while you do an arm move -- I have horrible balance and I can't do them without falling over! I can take the ones where you do a lunge or squat -- two feet on the floor, thank you very much -- but the leg curl with the thigh toner, or the leg lift with the thigh toner -- I just tip over like a weeble. I can't figure out how to modify these, so at the moment I'll just do the arms and get more LB stuff in somewhere else.

Poops, I'm with you on the glitter -- I totally love Chalene, but that wonder woman bracelet . . . and the rhinestone-studded star earrings? Oh yeah, that's definitely what I would have put on before I went to work out! Uh huh!

Have a great day, everyone!
