Good morning!!

Tommorrow starts the last week of CLX, wow! I can't believe it has been 3 months. I have stayed away from the scale but the changes in my body are becoming more visible everyday. I don't feel like the scale will be so kind but really....who cares if you like the way you look? My body is ready for the recovery week We decided to start P90X after recovery instead of waiting another 30 days.

Just a word about weights....I actually use lower weight in the Lean Phase then I did in the first two phases. The exercises are more challenging and to really do them correctly (especially the shoulders) you might find you need to come down. Another tip, be prepared to go down in weight in the middle of the routine. I did Lean 3 yesterday, started out with 12 pounds on the shoulder presses, went to 10 pounds 1/3 of the way, by the end I was using 8. You can also go heavier on the extreme sets, especially if you fail early because you have had more time to recover.

Nikismom,
What do you think of me re-doing CLX? I am not interested in P90X (I believe in it, it's just not for me). I agree with using lighter weights in Lean, the other day I used a 5lb!!!!!

Nikismom: Great that you're seeing such physical changes! For me, my bodyfat isn't low enough yet to really see that much -- I'm counting on having some nice muscles down below, and having raised my metabolism to help me lose that fat so I can see them someday!

Tell me more about what you meant about lowering your weights in the middle of a Lean session -- do you mean within one exercise? Or, do you mean in the 3rd, 4th, etc. exercise of one workout? I know that the weights go back down in Lean compared to Push, but it's interesting that you've got them even lower than Burn. Others have said that the biggest body changes happen in Lean -- I can't wait to see that!

3Tikes: I've heard a lot of other CLXers talk about doing another CLX rotation after the first one -- some taking a month and doing the Lean For Life rotation -- and increasing the weights further. I'm not sure what I'm going to do -- but I have five weeks to figure it out.

I did Push 3 this morning -- since it's LB and back, it's my strongest areas. I got up to 35s on some of them -- whew!

35 lbs. - I'm lovin it! I only got to 30. As for Lean, in one you are in plank position, then you have to do a tricep kickback, slow and 12 of them. At 10lbs., I was throwing my hip by the 5th rep, so I had to go to 5. There are so many pushups (I think in Lean 2), that it hurts! The moves are so different, always moving two things at once, that it is harder to keep good form and go heavy. I used 15lb for my biceps, I used at least 20 in push. The tricep kickbacks are the ones that got me, I only got up to 10 in push though. I think I may go straight to burn. I may do 2 weeks of each, but I really liked burn and push was my favorite.

I think you should go for it!! Make sure you do a recovery week in between rounds, your body needs a recovery period after 90 days.

Yes, my clothes are looser and noticing more and more muscle definition, especially in my abs. My butt feels like is tighter and starting to lift, my saddle bag area is starting to shrink too. I had a lot of fat on my back, think triple bra rolls, which has gone down quite a bit. I still have a ways to go but I think with P90X that I may be wearing shorts this summer for the first time in years. Who knows....maybe even a two piece bathing suit

What do you mean by recovery week? Do nothing at all (I'm sure I can do that) or do you mean just other exercise?

Actually both, I have had to change weight on the 3-4 rep on a few exercises. It was either change or fail at 4 In the Lean Phase proper form is a must, if your weights are to heavy you will know immediately. Like 3Tikes on the tricep kickbacks in plank, go too heavy and your hip will rotate up. Even Chalene goes down in weight towards the end of the routines because of muscle fatigue.

It is recommended that when you complete a 12 week program of heavy lifting that you give your body a 1 week break from lifting. You can do some light cardio during that week but no lifting.

Have you looked at the CLX website? There are before/after pics there from the test team (although they supposedly did extra cardio), and some info about the workouts. (no pics here, sorry!)

I carry fat in my back as well and it has gone down quite a bit with CLX. I wore a top yesterday and it was such a welcome change not to see the area below the bra that use to bother me so much. My stomach is also flatter.

At first I was hesistant about purchasing P90x because of the length of the workouts, then I realized after I do CLX I do cardio anyway so that equals an hour daily. The scale started moving when I increased my cardio from twice a week just using Burn Intervals and Burn it off to five times a week adding my own videos and equipment. I try to alternate between Turbo Jam Fat Blaster, 30 day shred, treadmill, and the elliptical. One thing I will have to get used to with p90x is the 6 day a week workouts and that yoga. Now that is one workout I will have a problem with for an hour and a half.

Today I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and bought a gift for myself, the SelectTech 552 dumbells. I think I will like them so much better than my Power Blocks. My Power Blocks go up to 24lbs. I never thought when Chalean said you will lift heavier than you ever imagined, she was right. I have outgrown my PowerBlocks. I will probably try to sell them to someone locally.

I definitely do NOT feel bulkier. Even though I haven't lost weight (it's my fault), I still fit into my shorts from last summer. I don't know how to explain that though?

Unless your body is producing testosterone like a male body, you will not bulk up. I only have one week left, I am not bulky. There are several threads about this already:

It makes perfect sense if you like about it. Lets use the following analogy.

Large orange = 2 pounds of fat

Small tangerine = 2 pounds of muscle

If you replace 2 pounds of body fat with 2 pounds of muscle you scale weight will stay the same. However, to the eye the tangerine is much smaller than the orange.

This is how you can reduce your body size without losing scale weight.

Today was Lean Circuit 1 and Abs, I was able to do more Tricep push-ups than I have ever done before. My arms were so fatigued by the last exercise that I failed at 4 and just couldn't do anymore.

Today I did Lean 3, during the moving push ups, I had to go to my knees right away - and almost failed on my knees! I did it though. For the first set of pushups with the planks, I did 6 and then for the breakdown I did 1, but the rest on my knees. My jeans felt real loose today though!

Burn It Off today -- and will try to get in some ab work later.

Amazing how some of the moves get my heart racing, but aren't that hard. Those moving plank drills kills me, though!!!

4th week of Push starts tomorrow!

Finished week 2 of burn, I was able to increase the weights and am able to do the squats better. The push ups are still hard as I can only do them on my knees.

Jabbok - I still do a lot of the push ups on my knees too, but I know I am better at them!

I bought some turbo jam dvd's on ebay. I am 2 weeks away from finishing the lean circuit, I will take a week off and do turbo jam and I will run a few miles. Then I think I will re-do the program because I like it and I think I've gotten stronger, but I know I can be even better.

Today is Lean 2 for me, boy is my back sore. I was off yesterday, but did Extreme Abs. I have been stretching all morning.

Have a great day everyone!

Im so excited to start after hearing all of these stories. I am gonig to buy it this week-will check ebay and then otherwise do beachbody. Jus thave to buy the weights now. Do you guys just sit in your living room and do it? Does it matter what kind of surface youre on?

I hope this works, because otherwise, I dont know what Im going to do despite starving myself. I want to be back to a size 4 like I was about a year ago. This stupid thyroid is killing me!
