Im actually jealous that everyone can do the p90x and I cant...ahhh
Well Im still doing my Callanetics and hope one day I can recover enough to start it again. I am feeling results and I fine some stuff is not as hard because I was still alittle more fit from my first round of p90x. My boyfriend did the 10 minute trainer the other day, I think it was the cardio...he was sweating so bad in only 10 minutes! I hope its not a problem that Im hanging around here, I would like to see everyones progress.

Hi! I am thinking about ordering P90X. Can someone tell me what I will need to do the workouts? I have weights up to 10lbs. My DH will start when he finds the time (works 12 hours a day, 6 days a week). Does the program require 5 days a week of exercise? Just curious. Is the best place to order it online? I was going to wait for an infomercial. Don't you get something free when you order while the infomercial is on, or is that just to make you order it right then?

I did Callanetics for a few weeks, had great results! Then I stopped . Thanks for your help!

Oh, I am doing Crack the Fat Loss Code WOE. Not exactly low carb, but close.

DH and I worked through half of the Plyo workout. We ran out of time (we are working out between when I get home at 5 and dinner, last night he had a meeting to attend) so at the halfway mark we skipped ahead to the cool down. We worked hard at what we did though and I know I feel satisfied with myself. Tonight would be Day 3 which may have to be postponed as my daughter has a ski meet. I think that my exercise will consist of trudging halfway up the slope to watch (in boots and snowpants) I don't know if I will have time for anything else. I am looking forward to Yoga day though. Have a good workout everyone!!!

You will need bands which I think either they come with them or you add them to your order, some people get the pull up bars thats sold seperate but you can use the bands. I got great results with just bands and on most excercises I used the bands and on some I used weights as for the weights you can use what you are comfortable with sometimes he will want you to use a certain weight amount but I think the max is 10lbs. Everything is at your pace and your resistance amount within the time given for each excercise. You will need a yoga mat! The workout consists of 90 days, 6days a week for approx. 1 hour workouts...Yoga is 1hr and 30 I think...ahhh
You could go to beachbody.com and see their pricing, they also offer other great workout plans, I originally started with slim in 6 and moved on to p90x but some master Power90 before they go into p90x...it can be really really tough if your not already slightly in shape.

You can also go to ebay and buy the DVD's at a much cheaper cost. Workout routine rotations and days are available for free at several websites.

I'm two days into week 3 and the routines I've done so far all have a resisitance band variation, as Wendy said. A pullup bar that quick-fixes on your door is a good option as are dumbells. Other than that, floor mat, water bottle, heart rate montior (not really necessary) and a ton of desire and focus is all you need.

It is well worth the money and not for the faint of heart. No "girlie" workouts here. (No offense intended)

Kajun,

Your right I forgot about ebay!,

It also amazing how fast your body can transform, I actually got hurt during my last two weeks and I still cant continue, I miss the push-ups its amazing how fast your muscles strengthen and you can do more. I even challenged my step brother and won. They where amazed when I said what kind do you want to do? but thats how I got hurt with push ups, it aggrevated the cartiladge and chest wall and back, It was so painful I had to stop completly and I still can not do any of the workouts even heavy breathing can hurt, so Im doing Callanetics to help keep me strong and help with pain. So one day I will start again. I wish I could remember the link to my pictures on beachbody.com I need to look them up so I can show you guys the results I got, they can probably be searched under the p90x gallery im under the screen name wendy...something...lol I forgot, but they are in the gallery.

Ok, I checked ebay, much cheaper! Thanks for the info! So I would be missing the calendar, nutrition plan, and fitness guide? Would I still get online support? Did any of you get it from ebay?

Wendy- There's a page of success stories. What year did you submit it?

Thanks!

You can get the calendar and what to do when online for free. There is a lady name Maggie Wang who has a fitness blog website named caustic musings. If you put in her name with the dot com you may just find her website

Do a search for P90X in upper right hand corner and scroll down to the blog "Is P90X right for you?" In that review you will find a link to workout log sheets that include calendar, etc.

There is also a free spreadsheet log which is through google docs that kind of let you know about the nutrition plan info.

Really if you just do some searches with the different engines, it is amazing the amounts of info you can find on the program.

The board through the beach body website is free for questions.

Great Wendy, I'd love to see pics!

So Maggie Wang basically talked me out of P90X. I figured maybe I would do my FIRM workouts until I lose at least 30lbs. But then I checked the WW message boards, and they seem very encouaraging. I think I will order it anyway, try it out and not expect to finish an entire workout the first week. Thanks for letting me know about her website.

Can anyone reccomend a good pull up bar? On the infomercial, they show the pull up bar being used with a metal door frame. I think I would be ok, but my husband weighs about 280. Thanks!

My husband is about that size and he said that he didn't have any problems using the door bar that we ordered with the program. You do need to install the metal clips that come with it though. Most of the force is applied to your side of the door frame by the bar that braces against it.

Good Luck and Good Workout!

My step dad bought one at walmart I think that you dont need to drill holes or anything its hard to explain how it goes on the door but it was only like under 30 bucks!...My bf tried it and its really sturdy, and my step dad loves it and you can take it off and put it back easily.

Also as for the P90x you may thinks its too hard like I did when I started and maybe you should be in alittle shape but maybe you could just go for it but do the whole hour or whatever but just do as many reps as you can at your own pace like he tells you on the dvd and im not kidding but you will gain strength quickly dont over do it just do what feels right. Once you see the workouts you will see what Im talking about he gives you a set time you pick your pace your resistance and as many reps as YOU can do and you stop when you feel you cant do more. All the people on his dvd dont go the same pace or work the same each one does what they can.

Thanks Linda and Wendy!I still haven't ordered it. I had seen an infomercial about it at the beginning of December, and I got really excited about it. Then the holidays came, and I completely forgot about it. Then it came on again last week while DH was flipping channels. I think that was a sign .

a.m. workout

Hello P90x'ers,

Just curious, does this plan requires a a.m. and p.m. workout?

Thanks

There are three different workout levels:

Lean - the easiest level targeting fat loss.
Classic - will definitely give fat loss but also focuses on strength/hypertrophy
Doubles - the most demanding. Workouts on certain days in months 2 and 3 done twice a day.

You pick the program that is right for you at the time and you can progress through the three.

So only doubles would have an am & pm workout and only on a few days during the 2nd and 3rd months. In the classic you do ab ripper X in resistance days but I do it immediately following the resistance routines.

I ordered it! I can't wait to start! I also got a pull up bar, but I am pretty sure I can't do a full pull up. I have regular resistance bands that I got with my FIRM workouts. Do I need different ones?

Thanks. I just checked EBay. Is anyone here doing this program without the guides? How is that working out for you?. I do meet with a trainer on Tuesdays and Thursdays then I do a spin class ( which I really enjoy). I need to search online for the guides and see how I can incorporate this with my trainer. I saw a portion of the infomercial and it looked awesome.

I used ones I already had but I did use different ones depending on the excercise I was doing. You also need a thingy you throw over the door to hold the band when you shut the door...I dont know the name of them mine is a hard rubber ball that I wrap on my bands and throw over the door and I shut it to hold in place.

Thats the one for the 10 minute trainer this one is for P90X but I dont see the part to attach it to a door, my piece is from somewhere else its just a ball with a string that I attach to the bands and throw over the door and I shut it. I will see If I can find it.

Finished week three this morning. God I love the X Stretch... really gets the day off to a wonderful start.

Beginning my first recovery week tomorrow and I definitely feel the need for it. Haven't done the core synergistics yet, looking forward to that. Everything else during recovery week I've tackled before.

Keep up the great work everyone.

Press play and BRING IT!

Good for you! I can't wait to be in your position! I don't have my P90X yet. What does recovery week consist of?
