I made some last night, and added the oat fiber. I was pleasantly surprised that as the poster who suggested it said, I did not taste it. It is there, and will add fiber, but doesn't give it a floury taste!
I also added some vanilla extract, which actually enhances the chocolate! I used a blend of Erythritol, Xylitol, and stevia extract, which I blended to a pwd. I put toasted slivered almonds on half. Mmmmm I wishie I would have a wooshie!!! Afraid it doesn't happen for me. But it sure does taste good, and I'm still getting good for me snacks.

I just made this today yum!
4 tbsp Organic EVCO 4 tsp organic cocoa powder 1/4 tsp liquid vanilla creme stevia It was good. I think next time I might just make it 1 T cocoa powder and just shy of 1/4 tsp stevia. I'm going to order some chocolate raspberry stevia or english toffee not sure which yet. My kids loved it. |

Coconut oil is the miracle food I've been looking for all my life and never found.
I've been eating 2 - 4 ounces of delicious coconut chocolate bark every day and the weight has started to come off. Previously, I was in one gigantic stall...but to tell the truth, I was probably eating tooo much low carb food and just not losing. Anyway, the coconut oil seems to do 2 things for me: 1. It curbs my desire to have dinner if I eat it late afternoon....so I either skip dinner or just have something very small. 2. It heats up my body. About 2 - 4 hours after I eat it, I do get hot (not as bad as hot flashes though) if I eat closer to 4 ounces. I guess that's fat "burning"! Thank you to those here who have shared your many wonderful recipes for coconut oil chocolate bark. I love you!!!

My how times have changed, when I first joined LCF, coconut bark was one of the things I tried and did not like. I bought some almond butter today and was wondering what else besides shakes to do with it, then thought about the coconut bark. Loved It! Can't wait to try some other variations. New batch of Nutiva CO ordered!!! - I must have royally screwed up the first time I tried or maybe too new LC to appreciate it, whatever, I love it now!

I used this recipe that I saw in this thread somewhere...
5 tbl CO 3 tbl cocoa powder 3 tbl ground flax 2 tbls shredded coconut 1.5 oz chopped pecans 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder liquid splenda I did use stevia instead of the splenda. It was a kind of gritty texture which was fine, but the bitterness of the cocoa was disgusting. I tried the recipe again (1/2 batch this time) using half the cocoa and 1/2 tsp of vanilla and still gross. It was inedible, I couldn't get past the bitterness. I threw it all out. What a waste. I will try some other tweaks again tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe 80% dark chocolate might be better.

I re-read a few pages, and decided to make a small batch using unsweetened baking chocolate.
3 TB CO 1 square baking chocolate 1 TB ground flax 1 oz. chopped pecans 1/2 of a vanilla bean (scraped insides out) I warmed it up and cooked it for 3-4 minutes over low heat. I added in 1 packet of Stevia and it tasted really yummy out of the pot. I was super excited. Then after it cooled I tasted it- it was still slightly bitter, but not nearly as bad, but something still wasn't right. It's probably never going to taste that good because of the stevia. I have an Erythritol Stevia blend, I guess that's the next choice. I'm trying to figure out a way to make this without the cocoa. Maybe vanilla, but I don't have cocoa butter. |

Hi Dawn,
I just found this website a few weeks ago while I was looking for low carb flour. I found out about Carbalose and ordered it and have baked a few things with it and I have already started to lose weight (about 4 pds) just by using it to make the few treats that I have now and then. My own goal for weight loss is about the same as yours was. I don't have lots to lose but never the less I have found it difficult. But I think this plus a protein powder I drink is causing a very quick change in appetite. Do you have any good tips? You look fantastic, but you are younger than me and I don't know if you are a strict lo carber. I don't get too strict. But I think this flour makes me want less carbs. Thanks, JoJoey |

I hope I am doing this right not being sure of how to post yet. My own goal is very close to what yours was but I am older and don't know how it will go. I just got the Carbalose flour and have baked a few things and have already lost about 4 pds. Do you have any suggestions. I really don't have a plan that I am going with, I use a kind of protein powder and the Carbalose and it has changed my appetite. Thanks, JoJoey |

I lost my weight and am still losing actually, with a low calorie plan called "hcg". I have gotten down as far as 113 on this plan before so I know I can do it again. I am expecting it to take about 2 weeks til I reach goal. I don't know how much older you are, but I am not a spring chicken by any means I have 4 kids and my eldest is in high school. He towers over me at 6'1". Thank goodness because being 5'4" I want all 3 of my boys to be like their dad!! Good luck on your journey
