Cocoa Roasted Almonds at Sams

I went to Sam's Club today and found a wonderful new treat there. Emerald makes a Dark Cocoa roasted Almond that have a really great flavor. They come in a 2.375 lb jar and are 3 net carbs per 1 oz.(approx 30 almonds). I can't wait to try baking something with them.

Kevin, I have read about these in a few other threads, people really really seem to like them. Darn, DH went to Sam's yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted anything, I forgot about these. Hmmm, might have to make a run...

I have been hearing about these. Since I am out of Sugar-free caramel Da Vinci syrup anyway....I will look for the almonds while I am at Sams.

Chocolate Almonds

Once CostCo had them and we loved them. Then they disappeared.

Enjoy some for us too.

If you would give me the brand name I shall try to find them online.

thanks,
b

Anyone seen these places other than Sam's? A friend mentioned them today and we looked at a Walmart but they didn't have them - it wasn't a super Walmart though so maybe I'll check there tomorrow.

Some regular grocery stores have the small canisters of them but they're very expensive. I paid $7.00 for 11 ounces at Randalls here in Houston.

Much better for you than Cocoa Puffs, which is what they taste like.

Randalls tends to be overpriced on most things so I won't be buying them again. Luckily I came up with a homemade version that's pretty good if I ever want to indulge.

I found these in one of my grocery stores but I wasn't going to pay $5 something for that little container, if they were a bit cheaper would of tried them and if I liked them get the big one at Sam's. I never really liked dark chocolate but my taste buds have been changing so maybe I will now . If I don't the girls at work will eat them up anything with chocolate

I found them at Safeway. They were in the regular size, 2 for 7.00.

They are good, but I don't find myself eating them up like I thought I would. I guess that's a good thing!

Oh these do sound delishious. I Love almonds, and I Love dark chocolate. And I already have portion contol with nuts, so these could be dangerous for me.

I have found that different Sam's clubs carry different things (just as do WalMarts). IE, I can get Macadamia nuts, and my sister whose nearest Sams is in Texarkana, AR/TX (can't remember which side of the state line it is on) can't get them. So not sure if mine will even have them. And I've bought things down there that I can't find at mine.
But, I may try LindaSue's version. Sounds like it might be a better option since she mentioned the Emerald had modified food starch. (Actually tho if that is Resistant Wheat Starch, I guess it isn't a problem anyway.)

If you go to amazon they have them along with a lot of reviews. It must be a YMMV thing because a lot of people weren't that impressed. They're 20.00 for 4 11 oz. containers (free shipping for prime members). I'd probably rather buy just one can to see if I liked them that much.

I can actually take them or leave them, myself. I've had the 2 cantainers for over 2 weeks already. I thought I would have finished them both off by now.
They would be good in the CO bark or some other good lc dessert.

I may try LindaSues version too!

Yes, but scroll down to the variation. It's more like the real thing than the recipe at the top of the page which was my first experiment.

They don't taste like dark chocolate. They taste like cocoa and have the same flavor as Cocoa Puffs cereal.

LindaSue, I made your variation recipe this morning and YUM! I used pecans and used my Exopat sheet, letting them bake for just under 20 minutes and stirring them after 10 minutes. I let them cool completely on the sheet in the oven with the door open part way.

This is a keeper. Thanks for the recipe.
