Considering Medi Weight Loss - NEED HELP!!

I have been researching Medi Weight Loss for about 2 months now, but have hesitated because I can't find a lot of definitive information on what it entails. I am also concerned because I have tried the Atkins program and I had no energy at all with 20g of carbs a day.

Also, I am unclear about what the repercussions are for consuming mostly protein and probably a lot of fat to increase satiety. Other than the first week of what people seem to report as being hungry, does this resolve with time? With so little calories, how does one even have the energy to work out? Too many calories below your BMR will just provoke starvation, and the body (brain!) can retaliate in hormonal ways.

Would anyone be willing to share his or her experience with this program? I am interested to find out how long you have been doing it, how your success has been, if you actually managed to make permanent lifestyle changes, and any health repercussions, such as kidney problems.

Also, I read the cost was ~$70/week after the initial exams, which seem to have quite the range of cost for the bloodwork. I have not had a phone conversation with them, nor have I gone in because I don't want to sign up out of desperation...since I am feeling pretty despondent over my weight. I have been on a "diet" for the last 30 years. I don't seem to make any permanent lifestyle changes, so any weight I lose, comes back (thank you, dear brain!). Obviously, I need to psychologically make changes permanent, or this battle will never be over no matter which program I use.

I hope those of you who have used or tried Medi WL will share you experiences so I can make a decision once and for all!!
