Pregnant Safe?

I was wondering how safe this is to do when pregnant. I am currently in my first trimester and have gained 4lbs from the nausea, bloating and only being able to eat crackers and fruit. I am not wanting to diet while pregnant. However, I have become accustomed to this and almost feel depressed at times because my eating routines and foods have change. Has anyone heard or know if it is safe to continue this or a modified version? How about while breast feeding?

Greatly appreciate it!

I have never done Medifast *however* the OB I had for my first pregnancy actually retired right after I delivered to open a Medifast facility. At my last appointment with her, I asked her if I could do Medifast postpartum while breastfeeding and she told me no. I know that probably isn't very helpful but thought I would chime in.

There is a womens health board here on low carb friends, where people are sticking to low carb while pregnant and breastfeeding. You cant be as strict as medi, but lower carb should be fine. Id just ask your doctor to be on the safe side. Medifast and medi weightloss are different. My best friend was actually put on a low carb diet by her doctor during her last pregnancy. Ketosis levels of low carb probably arent safe, but lower carb than the standard american diet is probably fine. Again, id ask the doctor. Let them know youve followed this way of eating for a while, and get their opinion. Congrats!!

My OB did tell me it was safe to continue, but only because I was still so very much overweight. I still ended up gaining 15 with her though....still not too bad though. She was amazed with my loss at my first OB appt. She hadn't seen me with that little weight on in 10 pregnancies (4 children 6 losses at that point). Check with your dr. :)
