gym and weight gain
 
So I ve been going to the gym these past 2 weeks, 4 times a week to do weightlifting. I have been staying low carb (nothings change except eating more veggies) I decided to weigh myself yesterday I am always around 137-139 but i had a 4lb gain. Any ideas what causes this? dont feel any different if anythign I thought I felt lighter lol

Not to sound silly, but don't I always hear "muscle weighs more than fat?" If you're replacing your fat with muscle, I think a weight gain might be possible? I'm totally just talking off the top of my head, but I really do think I've heard that.

That's right. You will also burn more calories.

Muscle doesn't actually "weigh more" than fat. 1lb muscle = 1lb fat but muscle is more dense therefore it takes up less space. You could be gaining weight and losing inches, from replacing fat with muscle. You're right though Susie, that is how people always say it! Birdie, you should try keeping track of your measurements. Putting on muscle is a great thing.
