No full ketosis? What am I doing wrong?!
Hey guys,

So here I am complaining again. It's my 5th day of a less than 20 carb, 500 calorie diet today. I've tested for ketosis since day 3, and the strips are becoming more purple, but It seems that I can't get out of the "small" category (light pink). What do I need to do to get into full purp? The only thing I can think of that is delaying my progress is possibly my one cup of coffee in the morning with sugar free creamer (2g carbs) and a Splenda. The rest of the day, I just drink black coffee, water, and 1 diet soda...

What's going on here!

The color doesn't really matter as long as its changing, even just a little. With ketosis you're either in or out, there's no in between. The clinic told me that the deeper purple actually means you're dehydrated and told me small to moderate was the best place to be. So don't worry, you're in!

Hi Shaun,

Great work!

I tested once for ketosis and I was the same as you.

I don't even check any more because I can tell every few days that I am in fat burning mode when I get that evaporated feeling, like a just shrunk a shade.

So, I agree w/ Jessica. Try not to over think the ketosis part and enjoy your morning coffee.

And don't be a stranger...;)

 This cracks me up. You're not complaining, you're just trying to figure it out like the rest of us knuckleheads.
